Tried the tacos (asada, pastor& chicken) and got a torta as well 10/10 Definitely going back to try more things from their menu!!

I recommend everyone try the asada fries and tacos, the best! I love the spot in north Long Beach and so excited they opened a spot in downtown! The Asada Fries is go to :)

Great food and service.

Great customer service and good food couldn't ask for anything else ! And it stays open late

This business listing is in north Long Beach but I've been catching them at the Traffic Circle location in front of CVS. Al pastor tacos are my go-to at $2.50 each. On my first visit, I was delighted to see they come with piña (pineapple) and guac. The second visit, I must have showed up too late in the evening in the middle of the week when all the pastor was shaved off and they reheated the meat. The pieces were a bit overcooked and too crispy that I didn't enjoy it. My third visit, the pastor pieces were larger yet tender but there wasn't any guac on the tacos. Not sure if they stopped adding it or they ran out for the night. A bit inconsistent but that won't stop me from visiting a forth time.

"The Hook Up Food Truck" (Their words, not mine.) What a great find by our friend! She posted and we went. However, the location she went to was on 4400 Los Coyote Diagonal Traffic Circle (near CVS). Both that spot and this one open at 5PM for dinner and late night eats. If you want a lunch spot, they have a truck at 1787 E 28th St, Signal Hill, CA, open from Noon-5PM. You have options! This truck is parked on Artesia Blvd near the parking lot for Big Saver Foods. This location is in North Long Beach. They have one 6 ft table and chairs as well as extra chairs along the edge of the sidewalk. We ordered our staple... Al Pastor Tacos + Horchata. These Street Tacos are $2.50 each, a little pricier, but I'd say they're worth it. They didn't skimp on the meat. Each taco was filled with Al Pastor, guacamole, pineapple slivers, onions, and cilantro. What I really appreciated was that the meat was flavorful and there was more than one little piece of pineapple on the taco! A highlight of the meal was their salsas! We always bring our own because we like the heat. We gave theirs a try and really enjoyed them! In fact, we didn't even need to use ours! They have 3 different ones, each unique. I poured a little of all three on my tacos, so I can't tell you which one was the spiciest. I'd recommend taste testing each just in case. I didn't see a Trompo for the Al Pastor. Not sure if it was because we were early or if they don't have one here. There's one at the other truck. When we come back, I'll check for it. A gentleman chatted with us, he was very friendly! I believe he was the owner. I think he said his Dad or Uncle runs the truck near the Traffic Circle. He asked us about other taco spots and wanted to know which were our favorite and worst places. We couldn't remember the bad ones because we just never go back! LOL! He's got a good thing going here! If you're near any of these places or looking for some good Mexican food, go check them out! I'm sure my husband would like to try the Asada and Chorizo! I'll stick with the Al Pastor because that's my go to meat choice! We usually always just get tacos, so I'd probably stick with them. We will be back!

Immediately, I was put off by the texture of the tortilla (squishy, dough-like, and almost rubbery smell?). When I took a bite, the beans were extremely light in color to the point of being indistinguishable from the cheese, neither of which tasted good. I know it was a simple bean and cheese burrito, but I've had some BOMB B&C burritos, and this one was honestly pretty flavorless. So, unappetizing appearance, smell, and taste. I think I ended up having four bites total, then gave the rest to my husband to have as leftovers and found something else for dinner. Husband's torta was also lacking flavor and was dry, but he finished it. Parking even on a Wednesday evening was tough (street parking only, no lot) and the cash only transaction was inconvenient, so those didn't help our experience. It was a bummer because we don't live in the neighborhood, but made the drive over because this place was so highly recommended. I guess they can't all be hits. Might give them another chance one day, but I doubt it with so many other Mexican food places to try. Giving two stars because the storefront has charm with all the stickers and lights, and the wait was not too long.

They had 2 ordering options either by a kiosk or at the counter. Counter ordering was ideal for me as a first time guest. I was able to sample some meats and beverages which was helpful in deciding my order. The best drinks were the Horchata and Watermelon. 2 of us ordering meant we each chose one and shared. As for food, my go to is always a burrito. I thought it was really good, especially the homemade tortilla. It was the perfect amount for me, even providing 1/2 as leftovers. My only slight complaint as that I felt like they seemed a bit disorganized. We waited a very long time and they never called our number. When I approached the cashier to ask about it they immediately started pulling together our order, but a lot of it was missing so we had to come back and ask for the rest of it. Luckily we were able to look past this experience because we were starving and the food was bussin. I got the lengua vampiro, which was so crunchy and they PACKED it with the meat! I love all of the salsas as well, and they all had a nice kick. I also tried the beans and rice that my friends got from the combo, and both were packed with flavor and tasted great with the salsas as well! This is definitely going to be one of my go to spots if I'm craving tacos because it has a parking lot and actually isn't bad!

El Sauz is THE late-night munchies spot!…read more I've been coming here for years, and one of the things I love most is that they're open late. I've ordered food here as late as 2:30 AM! They have a sit-down restaurant, a karaoke room, and even a walk-up window outside if you're just looking to grab something quickly. They're known for their tacos and their spicy habanero salsa, which definitely is spicy, be warned. LOL If you're dining inside, the chips and salsa are top-tier. Sooooo good and addicting! My personal favorite is the shrimp quesadillas. They're tiny, but mighty when it comes to flavor! I also like ordering their oysters. So far, they've always been clean, fresh, and hit the spot. They also have Micheladas, both the traditional version made with alcohol and a non-alcoholic version made with mineral water. Both are really good, and I highly recommend giving them a try! And for dessert, the rice pudding is served cold, and it's honestly one of the best I've had. Everyone I've brought here has been happy with their food and their choices, which says a lot because I've brought many friends and family here. As far as parking goes, you can usually find street parking, there's a parking lot, and there's also parking behind the restaurant. I will say the neighborhood is a little sketchy, but if you're local, it's really not a big deal. If you're coming from outside the city and aren't familiar with the area, I'd recommend just dining inside. There's a lot of homeless and liquor store activities across the street. It's usually not a big deal, but again if you're not used to it, you may freak out. Overall, El Sauz is one of my go-to spots for the late-night munchies, post concert, club, bar etc.

We were so excited to try this place but left very disappointed. It was about $2.7 per taco considering 6 tacos were $16.5. So yeah, given the price, there are higher quality options locally. These unfortunately were crunchy, chewy, premade tortillas, cheese not grilled in properly, birria and chicken so dry and stringy and also tasted premade (you can tell when the meat doesn't retain the juice and is dry, and the flavor is stale), and pickled vegetables that somehow didn't taste pickled. The other problem was the portion of the consomé size, which was way too small. The best thing was the grilled onions and consomé because you literally can't possibly fk that up. Although the consomé was a bit too gravy-like, and thick which considering the quality of everything else...was off putting. Ambiance felt fast paced, cramped parking, and a little dirty from being dated but it also had a fun, casual nightlife vibe. The service was fast and kind. They answered questions quick and politely without rushing us out of line. We had really high hopes for this place. This was not a first time either, we tried these guys years ago but even then it was mid. Now it just confirmed it. We do not recommend coming here unless you are craving tacos you can't make at home with premade ingredients, or find at another restaurant.
