    Jumbo Shrimp Scampi

This 5th Tavern is located in Bloomfield Hills in Telegraph Rd. I have been here twice in recent months and this was a perfect location for meeting a bestie in town from Ohio. It was a little busy for Taco Tuesday! They have daily specials Tuesday through Sunday. Many diners were choosing from their Cantina Tuesday offerings. We opted for selections off the regular menu. I had the jumbo shrimp scampi and my girlfriends both decided on the hand-battered Icelandic cod with coleslaw and fries. Three thumbs up! We were truly treated right by our server Maddie. She was not concerned with us hanging out towards closing hours. I also took carrot cake to-go that was yummy! We were seated in a booth in the corner. It was nice for a great time location to freely talk and catch-up with each other about our lives. Note: They also have a party room for booking a celebration.

WOW! I can honestly say this is one place to avoid for any nice dining experience or well prepared food. I ordered a filet mignon medium well and got a bloody rare steak delivered. When I sent it back for a medium well it came back tooth picked together and burnt on the outside and still raw on the inside! I asked the manager that brought it back out why the cook doesn't know how to cook a steak properly? He told me lots of people order steaks here and I shouldn't come back to 5th tavern for a steak again if I don't like it! I agreed, I won't come back!! I've never run across such a rude and condescending manager in any restaurant ever as I did on12/12/25! I was completely offended and only told you the tip of what he said to me and my wife. That man should be fired and the cooks re-trained. NEVER AGAIN!!! And, what the heck was that black thing in the middle of my bake potato???

I went here for a family celebration and had a good experience. We had a group of 14 so I understood when my water wasn't filled but still disappointing. The children's spaghetti was HUGE portion, to which I was grateful. My burger was good, but not entirely memorable. We were under an air conditioner so my experience was colder than others. I'm thankful I had a sweater in the summer.

This is why I need to look at the reviews more than just the overall rating. I might not have given 5th Tavern a try based on the 3 star rating. But, we got a recommendation that superseded the average of the 471 people who wrote reviews before. Thank you, friend. It was busy, and it took a while to get a server. I was starting to imagine why the score was lower than I would've wanted. Then, the waiter showed up, and took our order without writing anything down. I'd rather not help somebody use our order as a memory training device. My wife always has special requests, and it never ends well. I was expecting a disaster. But, first, they brought out freshly baked bread. It was amazing. Then, our orders were delivered pretty quickly after we placed the order, considering how busy it was. And, everything was exactly what we ordered. My wife loved her salmon salad with feta cheese on it, per her request. My wife's mom couldn't finish the Ruben she ordered, but she loved what she had. And, I was impressed by how good my lobster grilled cheese was. There was actual lobster, and a good amount of it. The cheese didn't add much, but it was grilled to a golden crisp in butter, and it was delicious. My sandwich was served with a chunky sauce, which turned out to be the base for a superb, tomato and asparagus bisque. The pesto drizzle was a nice addition. I was surprised that the prices were reasonable, considering all you get. What in the world were people thinking who gave it a bad review? Well, don't worry about them. It seems that the bad reviews were talking about the service. We had an excellent waiter, and that makes all the difference. Ask for a good server, and I'm sure you will be pleased with 5th Tavern.

I took my wife to 5th Tavern for the first time last night and it was AMAZING! We shared a Rattlesnake Pasta and their 14oz Prime Rib special. From the soup to the salad to the side to the main entree it was incredible. When my wife took her first bite of the pasta she said "We need to come back here!!!". It was just that good. If you go ask for Duane to be your waiter and ask him to sing for you. We are going back in August for my daughter's birthday. If it was closer to us we'd be going more often.

5th Tavern Bloomfield Came here for an event. Nice lighting. Nice staff. Busy parking space. Bar. A welcome atmosphere. Maybe work on some bright cocktails. Not much on their drink menu. Could be improved for improved sales. I had the Porterhouse with mushrooms and potato. My wife had the full Baby Back Ribs and chili. All items were good. No issues except for my Porterhouse which was a little salty when dunked in the zip sauce. Maybe next time, I will not use the zip sauce. Missing the "au jus". Ribs were excellent and soft, almost fall off the bone. No wait. Fast service. Semi-casual. Highly recommended

I really enjoy this restaurant. It's clean, most of the staff is friendly. One thing I don't care for --- every time I've been here the last few months, the women's bathroom is either dirty, stalls out of toilet paper or the trash is over flowing. When I see dirty bathrooms it makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. ‍ Anyway, the food is delicious. This time around I had the steak salad (note to self - next time, ask for it to be chopped and mixed). The steak was top notch! Perfectly seasons for being atop a salad and cooked exactly as i requested. All fresh ingredients and the tomato dressing was a perfect accent to the dish. I also had a spiked hot chocolate, it was a good pour of tequila and served hot. I highly recommend both of these items.

    Italian Cheese Tortellini

I have come to this place a few times and normally order meat. But this time a new plate caught my attention, italian sausage tortellini so I had to try it not before ordering a chili soup which was simply delicious. Our waiter was super nice, he even helped me get some ingredients changed, really appreciate when I am given that option, not every place does it. Tortellini was very tasty, loved tue sauce but sausage quantity was not generous enough. We also noticed there arent enough vegan options, just burgers and salads, that was a low as one of our guests was vegan. Another pointer about this place is dont walk away if it shows crowded, they have plenty room and very quick will get a table, just hope the host is more organized, she seem to struggle constantly.

Waze was instrumental in finding this hidden gem as it's tucked behind a fairly blah stretch of Orchard Lake Road. Turn down what is basically a residential street and Sylvan Table appears like a rustic Phoenix! TS saw my eyes light up as I soaked it all in. The owners have moved an antique Maine barn to Sylvan Lake Michigan and created a beautiful (if a bit barren and cold in December) oasis. The inside is as inviting as the outside with a beautiful space buzzing with activity on a cold December night. A Roaring fireplace and beautiful Christmas decor set the stage for a wonderful evening. We were seated upstairs at a nice corner table and the super friendly server was there in a flash to take our drink order. I had my usual, Grey Goose Martini on the rocks with bco's, TS opted for a house Pinot Grigio. Both hit the spot taking the chill off and were delicious. Our server went over some specials, and the menu had a varied selection of great sounding entrees. We started with a charcuterie board with their own house made crackers, cheeses and meats including a decadent pate'. And as an added bonus we were brought a few roasted brussel sprouts with cranberry chutney, fantastic! For our main course TS opted for the pork chop with root vegetables and I had the roasted chicken with the same sides. Both were delicious and juicy being cooked over a wood fire! Now Sylvan Table is a farm to table restaurant which could be daunting on a long cold Michigan winter. And part of the farm must be on their 5 acres. I bet those root vegetables were picked and stored on site for use all winter just like an old timey farm. Ee ate like we hadca tip on a famine and washed it down with a big bold red. But there was still room for more. For dessert we split a slice of Buche Noel and some coffee. The dessert was a work of art. As we made our way out we realized we were the last ones there. So after a picture in front of the Christmas tree we were gone. All in a magical experience with food, service and ambiance that can't be beat. And the company, well that goes without saying! So try out ST before everyone finds out about it! Sylvan by name..sylvan by nature. Sylvan Table...Go!

The only thing that would make this place any better is if they had a liquor license! We came in and seated ourselves; we were greeted warmly right away by our server. The decor is cute and modern with bright colors and has a good vibe. The menu is really interesting - there are a lot of good items on it and it was hard to choose! I was really tempted by the birria ramen - I may have to come back just to try that. I like that they have traditional Mexican/Tex Mex food as well as wings, burgers, and salads. Anyone would be happy eating here. To start, the chips came out hot and freshly fried and the salsa is nice and mild with a lot of tomato flavor. My Mom ordered the Ghost smash burger and I had the spice dusted wings. Both of those come with fries or tots, and we got fries. I also got a side salad with their southwest Caesar dressing, and it was really good. Topped with fresh tortilla strips and a decent amount of dressing - it wasn't overdressed, but I might get it on the side next time. Fresh and yummy. I really enjoyed the wings - they were a decent size and not overly breaded or frozen wing dings. These are legit chicken wings and I love the spice mixture as well as the delicious cotija ranch type dressing they come with. That's really good. My Mom's burger was also delicious - nice and hot with queso sauce and a fresh soft bun. A pretty perfect large burger. I will say that they're using frozen potato products, but with such a small workspace, I can see why that's necessary. And I'm not mad at it - the prices are very reasonable, and they came out hot and crispy with seasoning on them, so they're definitely decent. We'll be back every time we're in Pontiac! They're very close to the UWM campus and sports complex, so that's a big plus. They have specials, and on Saturdays KIDS EAT FREE!

All 3 meals had flavorless meat that looked more freezer burned than cooked. The cotija cheese that topped everything tasted a bit turned/sour and the guacamole was possibly green a few days ago. For my experience this evening, this place is a good candidate for Gordon Ramsey's Restaurant Rescue. Also, Music: I will add this is the first time I have ever eaten Mexican food to Chariots of Fire and Seal's Crazy.

It's always a busy time for establishments, especially when it comes to holidays, but we repeatedly kept getting seated and "unseated" (the hostess would seat us, but then take us back to common area as the tables were either dirty or not ready). I didn't personally care about this, but I definitely noticed my party getting a bit frustrated by the experience as it happened about 4 times before we officially got seated, which also exceeded our initial reservation time. The service itself was okay. I wish they would've come around a bit more as we were out of water while eating our meal, but I know it was super busy that day!! I ended up getting the soft shell crab sandwich and it was pretty good! I think it would be even tastier with more sauce on the bun, but overall a nice pick. I also tried the lobster bisque; it had a nice texture with the little lobster bits, but found it overly salty. Hush puppies were a nice, crispy texture and I loved the sweet butter with it! For our entrees, I got the chicken limone - chicken piccata is one of my favorite dishes and this is very similar. It's $29 which I thought was a bit expensive but you do get a gigantic portion, I brought half of it home. My friend got what she thought was a salad but it was more of like a Mediterranean small chicken dish, and she got a side of the beef tallow fries, which we both thought were expensive at $7, but it was very tasty and she said it was worth it. Everything on the dessert menu looked great but we ended up splitting the campfire funnel fries, and it came out in the shape of a campfire! Very nice presentation. Waitservice was a bit slow, we had a separate person coming to refill our water and overall that was consistent until the end though.
