Eggplant curry

5th Element in Pompano is delicious. But 5th Element Delray Beach is different. 3 stars for the kind servers & the venue itself. This place is located in a plaza and is large filled with many tables. We tried all sorts of dishes. We love indian food and get it every wknd. I would suggest lighten up on salt and try a more fresh approach. We are foodies and we do care, so sharing these ideas more to help. Dosa appetizer - potatoes tasted salty Cauliflower appetizer - overly sauced & salty Pani Puri appetizer - tasty Tandoori Chicken platter - tasty Eggplant curry - overly salty

I have been to the 5th Element in Pompano Beach and was happy to see a new location in Palm Beach County. The buffet is at lunch and I did not catch the lunch buffet this time. I liked the cauliflower on special and naan. Dosa was really salty, but I guess made the mango lassi taste perfect.

Came with a friend who highly recommended the restaurant. Located in Delray Beach on Linton and Military, there's a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. I like Indian food but I never know what to order so I usually leave it up to whoever I'm with. They are famous for their buffet, but I don't do buffet anything so I was very glad it wasn't offered for dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious. Some of the best Indian food I've had. Garlic Naan nice big slices of leavened bread stuffed with garlic. Chicken Tikka Marsala - nice portion of chicken in a spiced creamy sauce. Baigan Bartha - eggplant purée sautéed with onions and tomatoes Spinach Curry- this was by far the best dish. Cooked spinach cooked in a curry sauce and we had chicken added. The flavors were sinful! If you like Indian food this is truly authentic and I highly recommend.

Shrimp Vindaloo

I passed by this restaurant which was a Chinese restaurant for years. My wife was having leftovers and doesn't like Indian food so i decided to try it. I noticed they have 5 other locations throughout Florida. I opted for the Shrimp Vindaloo, shrimp in a tangy, spicy vindaloo sauce. Select spice level 1-10 to tailor the heat. I tried the medium which was real spicy. Come with white rice. very nice but I would get it milder next time.

Was busy and missed breakfast. By 1.30 famished. Typed in buffet near me. On the hunt for Chinese or Indian. This was the closest. It's been months between enjoying some of my favorite dishes of all time. And I was going to make them pay! Upon entering was pleasantly greeted and seated. Just then a Meet Up group for ethnic foods began to filter in. At least 20 folks so I rushed to beat the line. These people were a very cool bunch, with name tags, and we exchanged some lighthearted bantering. This is a group I could join. The two long tables of food had numerous dishes and thankfully all the bins were pretty full. I got to sample everything that appealed to me. My waiter was attentive and asked me a couple times if I needed anything. Water always my preferred drink is served in a large glass bottle. I was told its filtered and it indeed have a clean taste or no taste which was refreshing. More than a few establishments use tap which is real turnoff and potential meal killer in my book. Not in any order, mushroom masala and chicken tika masala were great and the butter naan dipped into the sauce is a real pleasure. I loved the curry leaf chicken, and the chicken tandoori was perfectly cooked and moist not dried out like I've experienced at other buffets. Goat curry was also great as it had plenty of meat on the bone. Other things eaten, basmati rice very nice, assorted Bujji, samba, paneer masala, cabbage sukle? It was hard to read the tags... anyways this meal did me for the whole day and then some and was only $18! In an age where a McDonalds meal is like $10, a good sub is over $12 +, this festival of Indian food delights is a steal. If you want to get it out of your system, this will do it. LOL not what it sounds like I mean the craving!

Shrimp Tandoori - 6 big shrimps seasoned with a smoky, and aromatic flavor. Amazing. Comes on the plate with a small salad and Jasmine rice. Lamb Vindaloo - spicy and so good. Tangy and savory, you can taste the intense spices. Service was excellent. Sona took care of us from start to finish. We had so much food and took a lot of it home to savor again

We visited immediately on our arrival. The restaurant was clean and well lighted, and the staff was polite and attentive. As one of the members of our group as a gluten allergy, we were advised to stay away from most of the appetizers which we did. (even though most of them they have a GF label next to them on the menu) We decided to have our dinner family style, which is traditional what to do at most Indian restaurants so we ordered the Grilled Tandoori Chicken, A Grilled Chicken Kabab, Chicken Biryani, Chana Daal and the Lamb Vindaloo (we were warned ahead of time that this would be spicy and let me tell you it did not disappoint .... It was pure which would be definitely not something to get for the faint of heart and stomach! However, it was spot on and delicious!) Their Naans were large fresh and delicious! I must say that the prices were fair, and the portions were not stingy. They did not have the typical Indian fare that is served in most Indian restaurants but the menu was extensive and interesting. FELLOW YELPERS DO GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY IF YOU'RE IN THE AREA. We will be back!!

After ordering, I was presented with a small bowl of green pea soup, which was nice. Then a forgettable side salad before my meal arrived. When my order arrived, the curry tased wonderful and I received a bowl of white rice. I don't think it was basmati rice but it was served hot and fluffy. I also received a large pita bread heated on the grill. This was an unexpected treat for a casual lunch at a place I've never been before. The atmosphere is authentic Indian, and felt warm and welcoming. I liked my experience and I will remember this as a spot to return to again.

It is a separate restaurant with its own entrance and much larger inside than anticipated. Parking is around the perimeter of the building. There was only one other table occupied when we were there. The limited lunch menu is quite reasonably priced. Of the 11 entrees, only 4 had some sort of meat; the others were vegetarian. We both chose the lamb curry, mild spice. This was a dollar extra. All meals include soup, salad, naan and rice. The lentil soup was very good. It was brought out even before we ordered. A single plate of salad came next. We didn't realize it was to be shared. It was basically a plate of iceberg, a tomato slice and a few cucumber slices with Italian dressing. Then a basket with nicely charred plain naan bread. Finally a larger plate of rice to share and our entrees of lamb curry. The lamb meat was very tender although there wasn't that much of it. There was a lot of sauce. The mild was truly so -- pretty bland but pleasant. I'm glad we came to check them out. The restaurant had been bookmarked on my Yelp app quite sometime ago. Now I know.
