I hate dealing with my homeowners warrantee company, but have to since my water heater went out. They have selected 5 point plumbing for me and this is the second time I deal with them on another property. With that said, they've been very curious, came in and checked out the heater literally the next day, told me what's wrong and ordered the new water heater, dealt with the warrantee company and within 3 days we got a new heater. Austin is the technician I dealt with and he was very professional and curious, came in within the estimated time and installed the water heater, cleaned up after himself and I couldn't be more appreciative of the work he has done. I've had mixed experiences with 5 Point Plumbing, but their recent behavior was the final straw. While some of their work is quality, their plumber Kevin (an older gentleman) was dispatched to fix a job a previous coworker hadn't finished correctly. Kevin admitted to me in person that the previous tech didn't tighten the handle properly. He 'fixed' it and left. ​However, a few days later, my Home Warranty company informed me that Kevin reported my 10-year-old daughter had apparently gone under the sink with a wrench and loosened the bolt herself. It's a ridiculous claim used to cover up their own technician's mistake. Now I'm stuck in a 'second opinion' process because they didn't want to take the hit for a return visit. For a 'family owned' business, they showed zero integrity here. Take your business elsewhere. read more

They came out to inspect and repair my broken clean out pipe that had burst and declog my pipe. They said there is no way that the clean out pipe can break and they told ahs that its not wear and tear so the claim was denied. But the pipe did, inside my island wall i might add. So i had to pay $250 additional to fix the pipe. Also they said they snaked 100ft, and the clog is still there. I dont know if i believe them cause i hired another plumber and they did fix it just by snaking 100ft for $59. Hmmm. Anywho, ill leave it up to your judgment. I have to echo the comments from other customers who worked with 5pointplumbing through an American Home Shield warranty claim. Dustin did contact me promptly to schedule an appointment. He told me they would arrive between 7 AM and 1 PM, but I received a confirming text and email saying they would arrive between 8 AM and noon. He arrived around 10 AM, and literally spent five minutes checking out the situation, then he left. He told me he could not access the cleanout pipe, so the clog would have to be cleared from the roof, which is a service he cannot provide (and that my home warranty apparently does not cover). So, I paid $125 for a service call, and he made zero effort to try to clear the clog at all. Part of this is just a frustrating aspect of using service people through a home warranty service. But, even if I wanted to pay for an uncovered service, 5point was unable to do it. So, I had to spend another two days with a completely clogged kitchen sink until I could get another plumber booked. I can't give a good review to a plumber who can't clear a clogged sink. read more

I contacted Dustin, VERY RUDE DUDE, before we even reached the service window and he refused to send the plumber back out. He left us without water and we had to find another plumber leaving us without water for another 24 hours. Dustin defended their behavior of showing up outside of the service window indicating contrary to their service text showing 8 am to noon, they actually do it from 7 am to 1 pm. Makes no sense. My biggest issue is how I was treated by Dustin. I asked to speak to a manager and Dustin said he is the owner of the company. 5 stars for 5 point! 5point responded through AHS home warranty to my house for a leak found at my supply line in the wall, behind my fridge. It turned out the supply line was leaking from within the slab and supplying cold water to my kitchen sink which is an island in my kitchen. Worse case scenario was going to be cutting into the concrete to get to the copper line. Luckily Kevin was able to feed a PEX line within my existing copper line and avoid cutting into my tile flooring and concrete. I very much appreciated avoiding more destruction to my house as I already removed approximately 12 feet of drywall to start the drying process from the initial water leak. Overall my experience with 5 Point was excellent. I called on a Friday morning and had someone in my house later in the afternoon to locate the leak. The only hang-up was waiting over the weekend for the estimate to go through AHS and 5 point to return on Monday and fix the problem. Kevin was knowledgeable, professional and respectful of my home. First and foremost, I used 5PP through my home warranty and we know that they aren't always the best. I had a couple issues at my home, they are listed below: 1. Sink and Faucet Failure 2. Shower Issue 3. Bathroom Sinks. Only one issue was resolved and it happened to be my kitchen sink, now when I say resolved that doesn't mean I'm happy.. I was told that I got the same faucet that I had or comparable but I can't wash dishes because the faucet is so close it leaks on my counters and under my sink. I tried to ask for help and was told see image below that if I wanted a GOOD faucet or something else to buy it and re-contact 5PP. The texts and calls I received from the business owner were borderline harassment and I am glad I was able to get a refund from American Home Shield they sent someone else who replaced my sink and faucet and handled everything in one visit, and I didn't have to pay an extra 150.00 on top of the 75.00 home warranty cost. read more

This company is a complete joke. I see all the one Star comments on here and I should've checked ahead of time. Wow, read all the one star comments, and they basically say the same thing, that this company scams people out of their warranty deductible and then finds ways to refuse to work! And look at their "manager" Dustins responses to all of these here. It is a copy and paste! wow there's great customer service for you! And don't listen to their manager, "Dustin" responses on here either. He is zero help and was incredibly rude as was the technician they sent out. The story is basically they are a referred contractor for American home shield warranty company. American home shield covers all plumbing fixtures in the house. A screw broke on one of the handles and needed to be replaced. A simple two minute fix. I spoke to five point Plumbing ahead of time so I wouldn't have to pay the $125 deductible if they couldn't do the work, and gave them the specifics that all it needed was the screw on the side to be fixed. They accepted and said no problem that they could do it and would send someone out. Here's the scam part if they don't come out then I don't get charged the deductible at American home shield of $125. They can come out, and if they don't do the work, they still get the $125. That's why I wanted to make sure they knew what the problem was and fix it before they came out. When the technician came out, he gave me some lame answer that since I didn't have the screw after it broke that he couldn't fix it for the warranty company. Refused to fix it, a tiny little screw. They just need to go in the side of a handle, What kind of BS is that?! All it needed was a tiny little screw to fix it and that would've ended it. But instead, they chose to work me on some technicality with the warranty company and refused to do the work but gladly still took my $125. And it's not the money, but the principle of this. And on top of it, both the technician and the manager Dustin were incredibly rude. Dustin actually said to me "it's people like you that ruin it for everyone". Yeah, I guess people like me that don't like paying $125 for zero work from a warranty are people like me. Not once did I shout, used derogatory language or anything to either Dustin or the technician but the technician turned his back to me and walked out because I questioned this, and Dustin was no better. What would've taken for them to just go get the screw and put it in which would've taken them like two minutes. But instead they fight me on technicality and tell the warranty company something so I have to pay them without any service and response. The technician actually said to me, give me a couple hundred dollars, and I'll fix it. Can you believe this?! I've managed hundreds of people at corporations and this level of non-customer service in today's world is inexcusable. I am a physician and communicated my needs and availability time with the technician however, the technician never relayed the information to his lead supervisor. The supervisor put the technician on a 3-way call and lied, stating I never relaid the time I needed, and his supervisor backed his technician, stating, "Why would my employees lie." Implying that I, the customer, was lying. This company's customer service is subpar and completely unprofessional. If I could give zero stars, I would! I was assigned 5 Point Plumbing through my warranty company due to a slab leak in my main bathroom. Dustin, owner of 5 Point Plumbing, came out for an inspection that only lasted 5 minutes. Dustin from 5 Point then had to send a subcontractor to identify the issue as he was unable to. When they left, I get a call from my warranty telling the quoted repairs are $3,255 and the policy limit is $1,000 so I will be out of pocket $2,255. This was not confirmed in writing for review of labor and parts cost and what work needs to be completed. For two weeks, I have been calling Dustin from 5 Point requesting the leak report and quote for repairs. He continually refused telling me I have to authorize the quote first without viewing it which is not how a business is run. Turns out he intended on LYING to the warranty company stating he will be drilling into my concrete slab to get the coverage from the warranty company but in reality he planned doing a reroute. He claims the reroute is not covered under the policy, so he had to lie to them to "help me out and get them to cover the initial $1,000". I refuse to partake in his fraudulent and unethical actions. What's worse is he stated he might have to remove my bathroom vanity at which point I should be able to get my home insurance involved BUT if he commits fraud to the warranty company, my home insurance will deny my claim and then I would be out of pocket for everything. I called the warranty company for help in getting the leak report which they provided. Dustin eventually became forthcoming and confirmed with the warranty program he's quoting a reroute for a minimum of 50 billable labor hours. I cannot and will not authorize work on my home without seeing the quote for repairs. This is not how business is done. So many red flags with this plumber! To date, I still have no quote from Dustin at 5Point after multiple requests and only had this information by contacting the sub-contracting company directly. Dustin at 5 Point Plumbing attempted fraudulent reports and failure to provide timely quotes and I wanted to warn others prior to any authorization from this company. read more

AHS send out 5star Plumbing. They were quick to respond and was out the following day. The tech came out took pictures of underneath the sink and behind the washer. Went out and look at the clean out. After that he got the line and "tried" to clean out the line This is when he packed it up and mention we have cast iron pipes, not a normal grease back up could not use a bit and line wouldn't go. The whole process from start to leaving the door with all the excuses of why it couldn't be done and not covered by warranty took 15 or so minutes. Yes that is right about 15 minutes. read more
