If you're on the hunt for high-end gorgeous tile, this is your spot! We are doing a tile accent wall behind a free-standing soaking tub and I was on the hunt for the perfect black and white pattern. Tracy met me at the door as soon as I walked in and was SO helpful! She explained the different tile types, i.e. cement versus glass, and others + the care/installation requirements that they would need. I was in awe at how gorgeous their selections are! I did find one that caught my eye, but unfortunately found the perfect one that I didn't see here at another shop in town. That said, Tracy was amazing and helpful, and I would highly recommend popping in here to purchase and/or get ideas for your next tile project! read more

The selection was subpar but we did get help from Neil and he was fantastic. He needs to turn and run from this company - he is much too good for them. We put a little under $100 down to bring some samples home to see what matched our new kitchen renovation (like 6 pieces is all) and we were told we can get a full refund when returned if within 60 days. We kept them for 10 days. When we brought them back, the manager would not give us a refund of ONE tile that cost $24 because it was now a discontinued item! One piece of tile....but of course if we purchased from him he would credit us! There's too many tile stores to chose from - most order from MSI anyway so it's a lot of the same tile- to put up with bad business. We will never shop there. UPDATE - I called the corporate number from their reply and they were excellent. They listened and understood our frustrations and evidently the manager did not know he could give a refund on a product not in their system any longer. He was taught how and within a week of our complaint it was refunded. read more

I'll make this simple, and honest...The Tile Shop is like a BMW or Mercedes dealership...you're paying grotesquely stupid prices for marked up tile that looks shiny and fancy in a fancy showroom. The average price of a square foot of tile in this store is $7.50 per. The cheapest tile in this store is 5 dollars per square foot. The average person that doesn't have a Scrooge McDuck trust fund spends 1-2 bucks per tile, not 7.50, that is a blatant ripoff. But, like PT Barnum said, there's a sucker born every minute. Really, just do the math of that for a minute...let's say you wanted to tile a modest/small sized home at 1000 square feet, that comes out to $7500 just in tile, not including grout, sweat, labor, and elbow grease. No thanks. Who would even do that? This place is ridiculous, you can tell it's operating on an antiquated luxury model, the BMW approach "We have shiny stuff and a shiny showroom, so come on in and spend too much money, after all, 'tis luxurious." Plus the BMW type salespeople working here don't bother to say hello or welcome you to the store, they're too busy talking to each other, I didn't get so much as a hello or goodbye after 20 minutes in this fake factory. I don't care who you are, the prices on tile here are just flat out absurd to the point of being offensive. For real, Tile Shop you should probably just move up to North Scottsdale off of Frank Lloyd Wright and cater exclusively to the rich crowd and yuppy it up over there. As a contractor I do large amounts of volume and decided to purchase tile here for a project. I ordered too much and wanted to return what was unused. I reached out to Tara and she said she apologized but they changed their return policy in the middle of it from 90 to 60 days. Wait, what? You can change your policy going forward, but not on existing purchases. That doesn't take rocket science. She said even then, I was past the return policy by four days, yes FOUR days. Mind you, we had Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years in that time frame. Terrible customer service and did not even attempt to make it right. As a contractor, I'll be taking my business to Floor and Decor and Monterey tile company. Do better Tile Shop so the customer has a better experience and you'd like to stay in business. Tara, here is some feedback on what you should do if you are working in a customer service industry. "it looks like we are just a couple days over, however, we had some major holidays during that timeframe, let me just talk to my manager and/or owner and I'm sure we can make this right, I'll get right back to you. You must see Andrew at the Tile Shop. They have a great selection of all types of different tiles at a good price. Customer service is the best...much better than any of the other tile stores we've been too. Andrew is extremely knowledgeable in all things tile and gave us insight in what would work for our extensive bathroom remodels. Including material (stone, porcelain, etc...), installation (grout choice, grout size, etc...), and maintenance (sealing, etc..). Andrew also teaches a tile DIY workshop on the weekend. This class was very informative and he goes through the entire process from surface prep to grout. I took the class thinking we would DIY the remodel, but ended up choosing one of their vetted contractor, which has been working out great. Andrew also went out of his way to help us source tiles from another vendor which TileShop did not carry. I would definitely recommend anybody looking for tile and tiling materials to visit Andrew at the TileShop. read more

This review based on ONLY going in to check out the set and designed areas. Nice variety and well done. Really LIKED the fixtures that are part of the displays and the cool part is that although they don't sell them, they do provide the name of the company that manufactures or sells those items. Fell for a few of the lighting fixtures and the young man working on this particular evening pulled up the display sheet and gave me the information I was looking for. Super neat that they have what I would call demonstration stations in which some of the newer applications are displayed along with the product(s) necessary to complete the job yourself. And besides the nice tile selection they also offer classes so you can be a Do It Yourself-er. Wish I can come in here earlier cuz they have a ton of magazines that you could peruse for ideas. read more

The tile selection is INCREDIBLE! Jared the manager is one of the rudest managers I've ever dealt with. I went into the store and found a tile my wife and I fell in love with. I asked to order a few hundred sqf of it and was told they only had 10 sqf. The lady took my phone number and said it looks like there's some in Ohio, she would call them and then call my back the next day. I never received a phone call... and ended up having to call Ohio myself. We ordered the tile (from Ohio) and asked they ship it to us. Apparently it gets shipped directly to the closest tile shop store then is contracted out and shipped to the customer. Jared in Tempe took zero responsibility in helping us find our tile and told me flat out on the phone... you didn't order fro me sorry. Even though we ordered from the same company it felt like he didn't care one lick about the customers and trying to help make things right. We are in the middle of a remodel and have spent tens of thousands of dollars at their competitor and to be treated like this made me want to never do business with them again. However, fortunately the tileshop in Ohio's customer service made up for the experience. They immediately got on the phone and coordinated (from Ohio) a delivery on our behalf even though the Tempe store could have done it. I've been told Jared has been known to be very rude in the past but unfortunately he's pretty high up in the company and "above the law." So... the store has great tile... but their customer service (from the top down) is rough around the edges to say the least. read more

Ugh, I give this place 6 months... No One Has A Clue! waited for 20 min for someone to know how to do a return only to be told it was discontinued and not in the system, yet there it is on the shelf. I just bought it the week before as a sample to show a client. Good thing the client didn't select it as there would have been none to do a project with. Pull it from the shelves then! Every time I have gone in, there is confusion and vulture like hovering. That's what happen when its a commission based sales position. I'll be buying all my tile elsewhere. read more

So happy with the experience I had working with the manager Jared over the phone. I live in Seattle but the tile I needed for my project was not sold in any store here so I contacted Jared. He verified they had what I needed and even sold a piece to my cousin in AZ to ship to me overnight for approval. I was in a rush as my project was on hold waiting for my selection, after I received the sample he took my order over the phone and made sure it shipped out that same day. Tile just arrived, in perfect condition and just in time for my tiles guy to install today. Great selection of flooring but their prices are pretty high. The place has a showroom feel with lots of displays to help you choose. I went in on Saturday and was literally the only customer in there. I was greeted at the door and assisted for a few minutes before the salesman left me to browse on my own. It definitely felt like a commission based place because every time I picked up or took a picture of the tile the salesman would ask me about purchasing. I was not really able to browse on my own due to the salesman lingering over my shoulder the entire time. When I asked the salesman about how their pricing stacks up to the competitors ( I did not mention any specific competitor) the salesman began bashing all the other flooring retailers in the area. Basically told me everywhere else sells Chinese knockoffs dirt cheap because they are seconds. Overall good selection, high prices and sub par service. read more

I had the best and most professional service at The Tile Shop in Tempe, AZ. I bought my backsplash tiles from a polite and attentive young man named Darius. Then when I thought that I was going to run out of tiles before I had finished my backsplash, I called The Tile Shop and ordered another box through Dustin, a very knowledgeable and friendly fellow. As it turned out, I did not need the extra box of tiles. I called The Tile Shop one day before I was to pick up the tiles and spoke to Gerald. He was wonderful and very congenial. He said that he would refund my card and I asked him if there was a restocking fee. Gerald said absolutely not and that they did not believe in a restocking fee. My whole experience with the staff and materials was stellar. I will return for further projects and I recommend The Tile Shop in Tempe, AZ as your source for high quality materials at an affordable price.
