We had an excellent experience with Holtzman. We replaced carpets and cabinets in the living room and kitchen. We also installed new cabinets and a wine cooler while demolishing a built-in entertainment center. The bulk of the project was done in eight weeks, including two significant change requests made by us: 1. The concrete floor was cracked and very uneven. My foreman identified this issue, told us how he would repair and level it, and then spent a few days pouring a new floor and leveling it. If he didn't address this floor issue our new to be installed engineered floors would have cracked over time. 2. We decided to paint almost the entire place well into the project, so work was delayed while the painters did this new work. What was great about the project: 1. The sales process was easy and reactive. Paul visited with us a number of times and helped with all of the planning. 2. We were assigned two interior designers. I worked closely with one, and she helped me pick out new appliances that had to fit into very tight places. She even told me that the appliance sales people I'd ultimately work with would try to correct me. Her recommendations were made with surgical precision, a centimeter in some cases. It was really impressive. 3. Their demolition crew was unbelievably efficient. They took this whole place apart in about nine total hours. The cleanup was impeccable. 4. The project manager engineered the entire thing. The workers knew what needed to be done, especially when he wasn't on site. 5. I met various workers and contractors. I was shocked by how good their work product was. The flooring person was excellent and extremely prescient. All of the workers really enjoyed working together, which was reflected in their work. I think this is also a reflection on how they liked working with Holtzman. 6. After the project was complete we met with a post-project coordinator afterwards, and told us what to do if we were at all unsatisfied. 7. When Holtzman contacted us with questions we provided immediate answers. There were a lot of decision points on material items, which I was happy to answer so the project stayed on course and details weren't skipped over. Every detail was addressed, and it shows. We have more projects in the works, and we expect to be working with Holtzman. read more

I paid the deposit and was scheduled to start only to have the company send me a check for the deposit with no explanation as to why the job was cancelled. Terrrible experience and it just keeps on...have given deposit and start of job money...company started project by demo of back patio, patio cover and a bathroom. A week later I get a text saying company is having financial difficulty and trouble paying vendors...a 'consultant' will reach out to me in the next few days. Just like always with Holtzman...waiting and waiting and no word. Nearly a year since contract was signed and they always have some excuse for things not getting started. Looking at BBB site it says company is closed...looking to register complaints with Arizona ROC and Maricopa Attorney General but in reality I wonder what real recourse I have to get any part of my money returned. read more

An absolute nightmare experience for what should have been a simple kitchen cabinet and kitchen appliance project. The Holtzman salesperson will tell you what you want to hear to get you to sign, and then (eventually) when the project starts, you'll hear something different from the project manager. When our project started, one of the first things we heard from the project manager was "I'm sorry, but he (the salesperson) shouldn't have told you that." Communication from the company was very poor. The project manager did not reach out with any proactive updates, instead I had to call / text regularly to find out what was happening and when. The usual response to my questions was "I don't know, I'll have to get back to you." They have an online schedule portal, but it was not updated by the project managers (we had 4 different project managers throughout the project), so the portal was practically useless. There were many delays and missed dates from Holtzman, there were surprise up-charges and items they forgot to order (causing more delays), but the real difficult part was the lack of communication. Not knowing what's going on is really unsettling when you've trusted someone with this type of project. The kitchen came out looking great. The people that come to the house to do the work are nice and friendly, and generally do good work. But the communication and lack of accountability from the company is embarrassing. If my name were on this company, I would take more pride in the work and try to improve how they treat customers. I would strongly advise anyone to go with another company and save yourself months of delays and many headaches from dealing with Holtzman. read more

I have our whole project documented so far and this is the worst experience we've ever had concerning anything house-related. We signed a contract in October to have and it's now one day before May and the only thing that's been done is demo on the kitchen and first bathroom and cabinet installation in the kitchen............in the wrong color! We've paid almost $70,000 with nothing to show for it. We've had to change and cancel two vacations because we were told everything would start in January and be done in March. I will not bore anyone just yet with all the details but wanted to post and let others know that I have a very good friend with a connection to 5 on your Side, so several of us will probably be on the news. I read other reviews to see if they had same experience. Pretty much spot on. We had a small guest bathroom remodeled. Contacted Holtzman in Jan. Actual work started in April. It is now July & still not complete - usable but not complete. Their contractors would show up to only work 2-4 hrs of the day and then several days or more would go by without seeing anyone. The frustration level finally reached its peak. We called & they responded with "thats how we work at this company" please note we told them before we signed that we DID NOT want that to happen. They said they didn't work that way. The contractors that came out were professional & did nice work. The overall project we are happy with. BUT the frustration level of a small project lasting 8 months ... We wii never use this Company again. A brief summary issues with our kitchen and bathroom remodel in 2024/2025. * completed 3 months behind schedule * worker went thru our bedroom closet, bathroom & bedroom and looked around and opened drawers, all was on camera, reported to company * drywallers left cigarette butts on driveway * drywall debris left scattered on sidewalk and street, I had to ask to have mess cleaned up * project called for 2 windows to be removed - found much debris in pool * found a softball size pile of new drywall screws in landscaping rock * bathroom shower tile installed crooked, had to have tiler tear out & reinstall * electrician removed old can lights and dumped them all in a pile in the attic, notified supervisor to have them removed * cut out in kitchen wall for exhaust vent was in wrong place, had to have new hole cut and patch first hole * cut out kitchen floor tile for new island was incorrect * kitchen backsplash was designed with no grout line between tiles * dust curtain between kitchen and rest of house was taken down by Holtzman's workers, I asked drywallers to put back up and they told me that I would have to pay for that * electric line for undercabinet lighting was roughed in directly behind where shelf was to go, then shelf was installed so electricians could not get to the wire, cabinet crew had to come back to remove shelf and fish out wire, then electrician had to come back to wire that 1 light * bid for the bathroom remodel (down to the studs) did not include a vanity top, WHY?, I had repeatedly told multiple Holtzman people that we wanted the bathroom vanity top to match the kitchen countertop, we ultimately had to handle ourselves * bid for remodeling also included a new front door, repeated requests for an update were always met with "it's on schedule", well, toward the very end of the project we were told that we should simply handle the door ourselves * pull out trash bin for the kitchen was poorly designed, Holtzman repeatedly tried (and failed ) to modify it to make it work, finally the cabinet company shipped a new one with a better design * kitchen cabinet trim and doors had to be repeated adjusted to be straight and square * bid to repaint kitchen walls was exorbitant, different contractor used * bid to repaint house was exorbitant, different contractor used and saved thousands * measurement for kitchen countertop was supposed to happen prior to the supervisor getting married & leaving for honeymoon, that did not happen (much to surprise of the supervisor), resulting delay was several weeks * the entire remodel project just did not flow well, small items took weeks to address and be done correctly, our original supervisor was fired in the middle of the project, we continually found little things that needed attention, in the end I simply told the supervisor that I wanted them out of our house read more

I posted over three months ago that they hadn't started. It has now been over 9 months since I first signed my contract. A job that was suppose to start mid November 2024 did not start until end of March 2025. Now for the past 5 weeks all I have heard is the roll up door is still not ready. This was to be a standard gaurage door for single size opening. I still have the portable toilet in my yard alone with dumpster. The job seems to be fill work and they work on it when they get a chance. I would not use them unless the contract has a penalty clause when goals are not met. This company is full of lies and deceit, they did an absolutely horrible job with my bathroom project which they estimated would only take 12 weeks but turned in to almost 10 months! Brandon even called me to tell me the painter has been too busy and if I could paint myself!! Brandon is absolutely horrible to deal with and told me he would hang up on me every time I called if I did so to complain, very mature!! I just wanted my bathroom and closet back so I could use them. What did I pay them $25000+ for if I could do it myself!? After they left I found a huge hole behind my vanity that I guess they thought I wouldn't notice, now they refuse to answer the phone when I call since they don't want to fix it! Today we won a small claims judgement against Holtzman Remodeling, Tempe AZ, While remodeling our master bath last September, his crew turned off our water and electricity during 100 plus heat wave and killed $4,000 worth of our mature landscaping. In response to my email to Brandon Holtzman notifying him that his crew left the water/electricity off for apx 2 weeks which killed our plants, he said "we don't shit (sic) off the water" though he did not personally witness it. We paid Holtzman $50,000 and he refused to accept responsibility for $4,000 in damages. Before hiring his company, check the many complaints about them. read more

My kitchen project is completed! Other than the time period (long, but due to matters outside anyone's control) this was definitely a positive event. All of the tradesmen were pleasant, competent, timely and efficient. The Project Manager, Tony, was able to keep me apprised of what was happening, oversee and coordinate among all of the specialists plus the appliance provider. I think I made a good choice in contracting with Holtzman and I'm already looking at the next project, thanks to the sales associate, Paul Fried, who definitely sold the service capably. This was the WORST experience dealing with the remodeling of 2 bathrooms. It took 7 months to complete everything. One member of a specialty team comes each week, even if it takes them 1 day to complete the job. If they come on Monday, then you wait easily another week to see the next crew. Several times, they didn't have anyone available, and we would wait 2 -3 weeks for a drywall or tile guy to come. There was poor communication among everyone at this company, so several unnecessary mistakes happened. They even showed up without announcing they were scheduled to demo. The expected start date was 5 months after the date initially promised to us when signing the contract. High turnover because each foreman has 30 + projects each. We had 2 different supervisors during our experience. If I had to do it again, I would never have chosen Holtzman. read more

Mismanaged, Incredibly frustrating and disappointing The short version. Nothing is on time, constant problems, trades needed to be told what to do every time, high turn over with lots of lost time. Zero quality control or review from PMs. 3 month project took a year. No supply delays, no covid delays, just mismanaged from day one. The long version. Our Kitchen remodel began in July 2022 and was a $120k remodel. Not small, not cheap. Project was contracted for demo to begin in November 2022, finishing February 2023, but it became clear by mid August, less than a month after signing a contract and depositing a large amount of money, that November timeline was not a reality. No one internally talks to each other. I spent weeks going back and forth with one department saying they can't order cabinets until demolition is complete, the other saying they can't demo till cabinets are on site. Months lost. No one would listen, no one would call us back about this issue. We'd open tickets in their support portal, only to have them closed by the owner with no response. Demo was on time. That was the only thing on time ever. After our home was demoed, including ceilings, everything sat for weeks. We moved out and this was wasted time as we paid for a rental home. HVAC delayed the progress by weeks, never showing up, and on the 3rd scheduled time, they didn't have any supplies to do the job. Had to come back another week later. Most trades showed up with very little understanding of the task, always had to go buy supplies, and that usually took hours for the Home Depot down the road. Little regard for security. We had a trade rummaging through our garage and boxes. I shared 8 minutes of ring camera footage. I demanded answers from leadership. Pm told me "he was looking for a lighter". For 8 minutes, in tool chests, boxes of our things, etc. I do not think anything was taken, but leadership's lack of response was telling. We had to resort to adding locks and deadbolts to our doors for non work areas. Massive delays from lack of PM/supervisor oversight. Custom doors were ordered and done quickly but took months to get a PM to go look and see something was ordered wrong. Again, holding up the job as drywall and flooring needed these installed. Lots of messes to clean up. Trash in our yard, drywall team got plaster on windows, blinds, light fixtures, doors, carpeting, etc with no attempt to protect non work areas. $30k worth of cabinetry and I had to request multiple times for doors and drawers to be aligned and installed straight. I resorted to fixing many myself after the fact. I had to have electrical back several times to finish outlets hanging out of the walls. Holes in drywall where vents were removed but not patched, despite drywall being "done". If I didn't catch these things, no one at Holtzman wouldn't have. Our kitchen looks good, but for the money, pain and suffering I wish we'd choose someone else. We chose Holtzman over others because the timeline and promises how well they manage things. Typical sales process where none of that was true, and no one could be honest with us, no one apologizes, and leadership seems to be setting that tone. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with this company! We contracted to have them remodel two bathrooms and was told the timeline would be 60 days. It took 7 months! Weeks went by and NO ONE ever showed up to work on our job. After one shower was completed, it had to be torn out and redone. The tile was crooked, grout was sloppy and the wrong color! The communication was non existent. No one answers emails or calls. When I finally made contact with someone, they denied anything even went wrong with my job and wouldn't even address the extremely long timeline. Just acted like it was normal for them! And I'm sure it is. I have done MANY remodels and this was, by far, the worst company we have ever worked with. Remodeling your house is a stressful experience, save yourself the extra headaches and do not hire this company. We went with Holtzman because their prices were what we could afford and we got what we paid for. The only thing that was done correctly was our flooring which looks great, but that is thanks to the construction crew, not the company themselves. What really made us choose Holtzman along with cost was the cabinets. They looked great in their shop and were everything we wanted, the sales guy let us know how seriously they take their cabinet installs that even the owner of the company comes out to oversee the install. Well, the owner let the workers install warped, scratched and uneven cabinets. They came out three separate times and we're still having issues, but we are so over the company we are just dealing with it since they have proven they're not capable of fixing their mistakes. This is on us because we are just now installing our microwave, but also found out they messed up that measurement and our microwave does not fit above our stove. We also were never told we would have to store the cabinets in our home, which caused huge issues having to continuously move them as the project went on. The cabinet install also kept getting pushed out with no call to inform us that dates were changing or let us know why they were changing. Our biggest issue and complaint was our SI Brandon Jenkins. He is the absolute worst to work with. He incorrectly ordered several materials and tried to blame the workers or stocking issues. The workers always told me the real story. Told me to my face to use the app to check our schedules and when we had issues lied and said he never said that, we needed to use the app and the website to see everything clearly. Then once we exclusively used the website his scheduling was not clear. He would put short hand on the schedule that was not complete, so there were a few times we were unprepared for them because we didn't know what actually was happening that day. I was on the phone complaining to him and he updated the schedule to provide more info, so it could have been done all along he just chose not to. We hired outside painters because they were cheaper, and I told him exact dates the painters were coming and he said that it was perfect, yet a week went by and I reminded him again when the painters were coming and all of a sudden that wasn't going to work, so we had to scramble to get part of it done ourselves so we could be prepared for another of his mistakes. He most definitely never wanted to be wrong. We were without a sink because of delays and we desperately needed one. He said they would install a laundry sink for us so we would at least have something and told me what to get at Home Depot so we could pick it up. Insisted that they were in store and just had to place an order. When I showed him I had to get it shipped he said I was wrong and had to look it up for himself just to see that I indeed needed to get it shipped. Such a dumb thing he needed to be right about. One of their workers left an old toilet in our hallway, which is obviously not his fault, and he said he would take care of it. He took care of it by moving it to our garage while we had a dumpster outside. That toilet stayed in our garage until the last day he came to check on us. The workers who installed our countertops scratched our cabinets. Not terribly but we did let him know. His response was they'd take the entire thing down and replace, absolutely not. So we told him no thank you we'd live with the scratch and color it in or something. His response was oh yeah you should have gotten a kit for that, still haven't received any kit. By the end I'm sure I was a huge "Karen" to him but I had to have my husband take over all communication because I literally could not speak to him without my blood pressure sky rocketing. 0/0 stars will never recommend this company to anyone. read more

TLDR: our project has been a nightmare from start to finish. Everyone in the office are incompetent liars. To start, their sales manager, Rob, lied to us about the project timeline, the cost of the project, and then proceeded to refer to our job as a "chicken sh*t job" when we said we were starting to get frustrated. They sent their operation manager, Nick, to "deal with us". He seemed nice enough, but has been unable to do his job well. We signed the contract with them on 09/30/24 and were told our children's bathroom would be started on 10/31/2024. We completed all of our design and fixture choices within a week of the contract signing. When nobody showed up for demo that day, we called to find out what happened. Turns out that Rob completely forgot to schedule our job. This caused an immediate two week delay. We were originally told this bathroom would be completed by Thanksgiving. It is now 12/30/24 and all we have to show for this hell we have been through is a gutted bathroom with some drywall done. We have also just been informed that the plumber has been delayed AGAIN. So, we really have no idea when our children's bathroom will be completed. Moving on to the issue with our main bathroom. This was originally supposed to be done after our children's bathroom, but demo ended up happening at the same time. Leaving us with no working indoor bathrooms. Things started moving a little quicker in that bathroom and by 12/26/24 we FINALLY had a working shower and toilet. However, the custom cabinetry was also NEVER SCHEDULED and to start it now would cause another SIX WEEK DELAY. We were able to find a free standing vanity that worked in the space and get , but of course the install is delayed due to them being unable to get plumbers out to our job site. Lastly, we had a detached garage that we contracted them to close in. They were only responsible for removing the garage door, putting in a window and siding in its place, and replacing the existing doors with dutch doors. The whole project, we were told, would only take one week. Well, they were unable to find a painter, which delayed the project two weeks. Then we had to cancel them putting up the new doors because they were "unable to find dutch doors that cost less than $5500 total". That is really odd considering we were able to find them for $1400 a piece. We ended up cancelling the remaining work on that job with them and having someone else do it. We have never denied them access to our property at any time or day. We have taken things off of the projects AND sourced several of our own supplies (toilets, vanities, miscellaneous fixtures all sitting here waiting to be installed) in an attempt to help things move along faster. We have even tried to cancel the job with them twice since it seems like they can't keep up with the work, but of course they will not cancel the contract. So, we are stuck just hoping to have completed bathroom three months after they were supposed to start. read more

The workers do excellent work, the problem is the management. They are horrible. What should have taken at most 9 months took a year and a half. Weeks would go by and nothing done. Additionally, I was called multiple times, texted, and emailed repeatedly for the final bill which was their mistake and a total of 1Cent. But our Superintendent called about 2-3 weeks later asking us if the door was installed yet, so not even the guy in charge was aware. * Original estimated total renovation timeline: 3-4 weeks * Actual timeline: 190 days - 210 days * "In a perfect world, the job would only take two weeks.. Because of supply chain issues, this shouldn't take any longer than 4-6 weeks, tops." LOL. Consulted with Holtzman June 11. Start date was supposed to be Oct 14, then Oct 28, then Oct 31. * The schedule means nothing. It'll say one person is tentative and they won't show up. Another will come unannounced even though we're told a text or call will come first confirming their arrival date and time. Tile guys came 3 weeks early, unannounced. Framer came without a text or call. * Work that was supposed to be done by one group of people wasn't, and they expected the next group will do it, but they don't communicate. Framer came but couldn't do anything because the floor tile wasn't cut properly. Demo guys didn't have the tile cutter with them so they said the framer will. * No point of having an app with a schedule, as it does not reflect when people are coming. Schedule gets moved on the company's end but not on the schedule we have. * Plumber arrived but doesn't know what to do, doesn't have specs. I'm unsure why he thought we'd have them. He left at 10am to "get materials" and never returned. We were informed at 3pm after we called Holtzman that he would need to be rescheduled. * Electrician assumed plumber came, since "that's what was on our schedule," so he installed the light in the shower incorrectly. He centered it based on our old set up and not on the new set up. So that had to be fixed. * Framers did the new wall wrong. Had to redo. * Contractors will show up at your house at 6am - any day of the week - including Saturday and Sunday. Unannounced. * Tile guys - They show up and do their thing and the tile looks phenomenal. The problem is that they did it wrong and our Superintendent is PISSED because before the work even started, he instructed them exactly how he wanted it done according to the recommendations by the manufacture, and by the homeowner. The instructions were also written on the wall. But reading is hard. * Tile guys ran out of tile. * Glass guy - lost the measurements. He's reading off this list for like 5 minutes and then realizes it's for the wrong person. Then tells us they shipped the glass to the wrong place so we'll have to wait. * Feb 18 - Glass guy came and installed the door. But then realized he didn't do it right so will have to redo. * April 28 - glass removed, stored in shower. Still no information on future work (tile guy, glass guy). Called Richie Apr 27, and 28. * May 9 - random people showing up again without announcement. Glass is here to install the door. * Overall, Holtzman is an unorganized company who lies about dates they'll be out to do work, lies about materials they purchase or forget to purchase, loses your information, lies about who they sub-contract who aren't associated with their company even though they "don't hire outside workers," who also don't know what they're doing and do the job wrong every time they do it. Every single contractor who has come out has done their job incorrectly, causing them to have to come back out to do it again, sometimes three times. People will show up at 6:30am on a weekend, unannounced, and expect you to just let them in. We only went with Holtzman because we wanted tile in our shower and couldn't find another company which seemed even remotely competent. So Johnny sold them well. If you haven't already decided Holtzman is off your list and you're running the other way as fast as you can you need to. If you've read any of the negative (the truth) reviews, then you've seen a common pattern of issues with Holtzman that are on repeat on pretty much every job. I'm not going to list every single issue with date and conversations, but I'll say our experience was no different than any of the other negative reviews on here. I'll also disclose that I make my living as a project manager in commercial construction. I manage jobs from $400K to $8million so I had a hard time not blowing my top over this circus we signed up for. Our project: Remodel of three bathrooms, combined square footage LESS then 200 AND I did all the demolition, painting. We signed our contract 12/2/2022 and at that time I put down $25K. We were told by the salesman and per the contract that they would start 5/2/23 and be 100% complete by 8/2/23. They were substantially complete with the entire project May 3rd 2024! As others have stated, they don't stick to their stated schedules or promises and will continue to blame anyone other than themselves. We had all of our fixtures picked out way ahead of the May start date but that in itself was a nightmare. The designer doesn't design much, more so she helps you pick fixtures and such. If you dare to pick fixtures other then from their build.com catalog it will confuse them to no end. We had multiple delays due to their confusion because we didn't want the cookie cutter look. We also purchased our own quartz way ahead of the May 2023 start date. For the primary bathroom we picked out a very unique slab from THEIR OWN partner The Yard, which Holtzman never paid for and never picked up, so it was sold to someone else. They tried to sneak in the counter with the same material from the guest bathroom and tried to act like they didn't know what had occurred. After several emails and conversations, they sort of admitted it and they finally were able to find another slab, but it cost them way more than what it would've had they picked up our piece. They tried unsuccessfully to pass that cost on to us, but we pushed back so they ate it. This delayed the project 6 weeks. They also came up short on the primary BR wall tile. They needed one box more that they didn't have so that was another 4 week delay due to it having to be imported, again they tried to pass this cost on to us but we pushed back. I did all the demo and used my own Bagster but for some reason they kept trying to charge us $800 for "emptying the Bagster" which they never did, and I would've never approved. I had each one picked up as they filled up. They were always trying to charge for their screw ups and I can see the getting away with it if you don't pay real close attention. The allowance system they use can be quite confusing and the site is a mess also. There is so much more, and I could write a novel on their incompetence, but I'll just grade out with some comments and leave it at that. Actual Work: B+ As stated, they tell you they self-perform but the reality is only the framers/cabinet guys, plumber and the electrician worked for Holtzman, every other sub was just that, a sub. I feel fortunate though because the work was of good quality and all the subs were kind enough. Super/PM: D We had two of them. The first one was a really nice (Clint) kid that ended up quitting. He felt bad that they were so far behind and he tried to give us a change order for no charge, Brandon promptly changed that. Before he quit, he disclosed some of the issues as did a few of their other guys did as well. The guy that picked it up was Larry who we had to walk through the entire job all over again since he knew nothing of it when he got it. Design: F Absolute nightmare. From the designer no showing us due to sick kids, her being sick, etc. to not taking good notes and not ordering the correct faucets, mirrors and drains, you name it, it went wrong and caused delays due to their incompetence. Office: D It's extremely tough to get a call answered and an issue resolved in a timely matter Leadership and accountability: F Not only are they skilled at dodging phone calls and answering emails but once you do get a hold of them, (especially Brandon) they'll spin any issue into someone else's fault. This is quite amazing considering EVEN in the face of the customer having ALL of the RECEIPTS (emails, pictures etc.) he'll still try and weasel out of accountability. In my opinion this is the worst trait for any business leader. Things happen, people make mistakes, heck even two and three times over but when your company or your workers are the reason it occurred, and all the facts tell you that and you continue to skirt responsibility, you my friend are just a bad and dishonest human that sees zero value in a good, quality customer relationship. We have had a great experience with our whole house remodel. We vaulted our main living room ceiling, remodeled our entire kitchen, redid whole house flooring and paint, and did small changes in our bathrooms. Our primary superintendent was Matt, who was very knowledgeable and helpful to get the process started and things in order to run smoothly. Matt has a lot of experience in the industry and made us feel comfortable with all of plans before starting! We had a great demo team, Paint (Daniel did an incredible job on the entire house), and cabinetry team that made sure all of our concerns and last-minute requests were addressed and taken care of. We are now working with Dana our superintendent for the completion of the project who has been very responsive, helpful, and quick to plan out the completion of our project - she has taken care of every concern and question that comes up and typically already has a plan in place. Sergey and Scott have helped with a lot of the finishing touches and have both done an amazing job on our kitchen cabinets and hardware install. I contracted with Holtzman Home Improvement from my entire interior remodel. We took my home down to the frame and concrete floors. It was a complex remodel, it required expertise from engineering and many other subs. Holtzman's work was extrordinary. I don't think any of us expected it to be so beautiful. My home looks like a model home and they worked with me so that my interior design aligned with all of their electical wiring and I was able to design the perfect home. Their employees are professional, on-time and really great to work with. Regardless of any questions or concerns throughout the duration of the project, I had a timely response or the owner, Brandon would come by to discuss in person. I was never left feeling out of the loop about my project. I can't say enough about how good Holtzman is especially because my interior remodel started after my pool and backyard and it is complete, where as, my pool contractor TMC, is not even close to finished, it has not passed any inspections and the contractor who I hired is MIA. Its worth it's weight in gold to hire a professional licsensed contractor and not try to cut corners. I had our master bathroom renovated from bathtub and walk in small shower to large walk in shower. Here are my ratings (out of 10: Shower glass 10 Tile 10 Paint 1 Install of vanity 6 Electrical 9 Design 0 Communication 0 Customer Service 2 (Orlando, their finisher, got them the 2) Sales -1 --- I just wanted to let you, the consumer, know that I am most disappointed in Paul the sales guy. When we were going over the contract he made me feel that he stood by his product, but when I had concerns about what was going on, I would try to contact Paul to remind him what we talked about, remind him that he told us to count on what he said. But he never responded to my texts or calls, he would have his supervisor call and listen. No action taken, just excuses and delays. This is what I am so disappointed in this company and why I am writing a negative review. To be fair, My shower is beautiful. I just wanted the consumer to be aware that in my opinion, they should not be offering full remodeling services of any space if my remodel is anything to go by. They should stick to doing showers only. My shower is gorgeous. They used great materials and attention to detail on the shower is amazing. The rest of my bathroom looks amateur and quite frankly bad. The "designer" had us choose tile, vanities, mirrors and sconces. She did not design anything, when the electrician got here the sconces were to large and we had to quickly change our choices that we had to choose from pages of an online catalog to the ones that we ended up with (I love it but shouldn't she have known what would fit????). We also were asked if we wanted to keep our medicine cabinet, we said sure one more organization area for me. However, we wouldn't have been able to open it with the new sconces. Again, what designer would not know this information. In my opinion don't offer a designer and have my husband and I just pick and oops it doesn't fit, let's try this... this was a very frustrating. In the end, they put in the cabinets, mirrors and sconces, then my husband finished all the accessories like hand towel holders and light switch covers (seriously they should be more aware that the little things make the bathroom so much nicer). Don't even get me started on the paint. The guy they gave us spoke no English and after painting our bathroom asked (via google on his phone) if we had any turpentine to clean up his mess (which was not really cleaned up-- pictures attached). We also provided a fan for him so he could do the 2nd coat (which I don't think he did a second coat). So unprofessional and he came 2 weeks later than scheduled per Brandon (don't tell me he is your actual employee, you picked him up as a day laborer. And if he is your actual employee you should fire him because he made your company look so bad!!!). In the end of this experience, which was 9 weeks long and only maybe 10 days of actual work done in the bathroom (which means that we were without our master bathroom for 2 months sitting there waiting and waiting and waiting). I would say that Holtzman should be ashamed to charge so much for so little and I wish we had gone for the lower bid, it was a smaller renovation company that would have treated us like valued customers. (we paid around $30,000 for this job). I feel that we were just a number ($$) to them, maybe they do bigger renovations so we were an after thought to this company. Which is too bad because I really would have loved to give a good referral, and used them on more projects. read more

HHI did a bathroom remodel for my hall bathroom. While they seemed expensive as one of the first companies that I got an estimate from, it turned out to be in line with the rest of the companies that gave estimates. One thing to note: Other companies may come in with a cheaper quote, but then leave out all the things that you as a customer have to buy. HHI was up front in including allowances for everything that we might have to buy, so I knew how much to budget. Plus they bought most of the things anyway at a plumbing warehouse, with a pro discount. One thing that I liked up front is that a sales rep listened to everything I wanted and took notes. When it was time to get the quote, my wife and I went to their showroom and saw some initial layouts on a computer screen, so we could see if our ideas were captured. Then he went through a line-by-line detail of everything that would be done and the cost. When we hired them, we set up a time to go into the showroom, meet with the designer, where we picked out our tile and other things, reviewed the drawings for where everything was to go, such as lighting and shower fixtures. Due to the pandemic and holidays, it was a few months till they actually started demo. We had usually one or two workman come a week. The communication as to what was going to be done and when was spotty at first, especially as their automated calendar (which was supposed to send me texts) didn't work properly right away. After a few weeks, things went more smoothly, the calendar worked right, and communication with our super, Will Stubblefield, went well. Will was quite responsive to my texts and calls during the project. I think their online customer dashboard has been redone, so all new customers should find a good experience with it. It shows schedule, payments, the detailed contract, design drawings, and more. There were some hiccups along the way that led to some delays, but overall, I would say it went relatively smoothly. The worksite was kept very clean (no dust outside the bathroom), the floors were protected, and the workmen were professional. Any issues that came up, Will ultimately resolved. HOLTZMAN worker's or sub contractors ROBBED US. They STOLE JEWLREY AND TOOLS. Holtzman says they have their own employees do the work but actually the subs show up and put on Holtzman T-shirts. I asked them if they worked for Holtzman and many said no. So your house, like ours, will be filled with non vetted non English speaking people.....on those rare occassions when someone does actually show up. What cluster "f". From the first day to the last almost a year later. While the quality of work is worse than a cheap flip what I want to share is THE PEOPLE THEY SENT TO OUR HOUSE ROBBED US..STOLE JEWLREY ($15k ROLEX) AND TOOLS OUT OF OUR GARAGE. When I called the owner I think his name is Brandon... and is the son of the actual owners but he's "assuming control", he basically hung up on me. He said "we don't do that" and hung up. When the Sheriff arrested the people HOLTZMAN sent to our house (because the thief was on video in a pawn shop) the owner NEVER called back. Never took the time to appologize to us...nothing. Aside from being robbed by HOLTZMAN workers/subs, the entire process was a disaster. We moved out and spent another $5K a mo for AirBnb's for the 4 mos they said it would take. What happened is they did the demo and left the house sitting for over a months. Over the course of the most painful year of our lives working with Holtzman they'd not show up for weeks/mos at a time. When someone would show up they often would have no idea what they were supposed to do or they were told the material was here when it wasn't or some other rediculous sad example of mis-management. For instance, we had our cabinets picked out, Holtzman calls and says they've stopped working with that supplier and the new supplier will have the cabinets done in 2 weeks. Well that turned into 4 month AND the different cabinets appeared to be of significantly poorer qualilty than those we picked out. Holtzman said their is no difference in price....just the different cabinets are shitty looking pressed cardboard cabinets. Then they couldn't install them properly. Amazing and it felt more like a bait and switch. If you hire these folks hide your belongings and just know nothing will be as they promise. They had to repaint our kitchen 3 times because they screwed up the paint....seriously...and I have to hire someone to fix what they did. Listen....my Fiance and I have lived a year of Holtzman nightmares. I could share with you so much but I don't have time and it's too painful to re-live it. So if you want to maybe get your belongings stolen call them. If you want to work with a company that has zero interest is customer service call Holtzman. If you want to have to hire other professionals to fix what Holtzman screwed up ..... hire Holtzman. The owner's son "Brandon" does not give a shit about customer service....at least that was our exp. The supervisor rarely shows up and when he does he has zero clue what's going on. I signed the contract for a master bathroom renovation with Holtzmans on 6/3/21 with a scheduled start date of 10/10/21. (and and estimated completion date of 11/25/21). It is now 1/16/22 and I am over 4 months into the active project and still not complete. What is worse, is last week and this week I only have 1 active day on the schedule. At best, it will be completed by the start of February based on the schedule. They told me it would be 2 weeks after measurement of my countertop until install. I am now over 4 weeks. I did complain about this delay; instead of scheduling the install, they changed the date (post-dated) the measurement to an incorrect date to look like they are not schedule . (It was measured before X-mas but now showing it was done after the new year). Every time I call for updates I get excuses and I am now feeling like they are not being honest with me. They do quality work but the schedule is completed unacceptable. If you very flexible on your timeline, they do great work. Just be prepared for a much longer timeline than they commit. **Addendum: Recently spoke with Brandon about what happened. I appreciate the professionalism he demonstrated. While I stand by the words below, overall we received a quality renovation and appreciate Brandon stepping up to make the shower floor look great** Recently completed a small master bathroom with associated closet renovation with Hortzman. I wanted to share the good and bad of my experience. Pro -Christina, the designer did good job putting the renovation together -Good quality materials and craftsmanship -The owners' son Brandon stepped up and completed job Con -Daniel (project manager) did a terrible job organizing the schedule and communicating changes throughout project -Daniel didn't keep track of progress of the project and rarely provided any update on the project -No attention to detail from Christina or Daniel - After materials were chosen, the materials were not ordered in timely manner and both the shower floor tile and shower drain were on backorder once orders were finally placed. Not having the materials delayed project -The bathroom shower slab was completed without enough slope and after tile was laid, the shower puddled up and didn't drain appropriate. Multiple touch ups were attempted but ultimately the whole slab and tile work had to get redone. -The wrong closet doors were installed -The vanity backsplash was either measured incorrected or tried to cut corners and instill backsplash that didn't fit correctly -Daniel never followed up or returned phone call from shower door company notifying him doors were ready. Shower door company called me personally to set up time to install cause Daniel dropped the ball -Commited to project February 24, 2021 and job was completed FEB 2022. I think the bad experience overshadows the quality craftsmanship Hortzmann can provide. I would make sure there is a completed project timeline in the signed contract, mandatory updates on supplies and progress of job and ask for a different project manager. read more

I originally had Holtzman Home Improvement Install a shower in October 2019. I was satisfied with their service and the job at the time of the remodel. However, the grout in the shower began chipping a year later. I tried contacting Holtzman to get a repair many times utilizing many different methods over the phone and through email there was no reply. Then COVID happened, so I decided to wait for the repair. Their website states that all of their work comes with a 5-year warranty so I had plenty of time. When I decided to try contacting them again I tried calling the number on their website and leaving messages, and emailing many times and was never contacted back. I finally had success contacting them through yelp. The man who they sent for the repair showed up without prior contact and disrupted my husbands work day. He came in, slathered some caulk on it and said that we would need to keep putting on the caulk every time it cracked again. I am no expert in construction, however I know that if something continues to degrade it has not been fixed properly. I have since tried to contact Holtzman with a customer service email that they provided to me when they created the ticket for the repair and it was returned to sender Beware hiring this company for any work, they are next to impossible to contact if you need a repair, and the construction of their work degrades. read more

DO NOT USE! THIS COMPANY IS BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE DEALT WITH! First we were given a 3 month timeline for an addition we are currently over 12 months and not completed. Below is my review: · They have a huge scheduling issue where they only schedule 1 trade a week to complete a task even if it is a very small or short task. They demoed our bathroom and didn't show up for another 5 weeks! · Next the owners will insult you and even do some borderline illegal activity by missing items in the line item scope of work, even though it is stated in the APPROVED original plans, then submit a change order to you saying that if you want it you need to approve the change order. This happened 3 times to us, and we were blamed because we didn't analyze each line in detail of the 37 Page document. For example the APPROVED architect plans called to move a window, well they forgot to include that in the Statement of work and submitted a change order to move the window for me to pay because they forgot increasing the overall original budget on the other side they forgot to put in glass showers in the original contract, completed the work and now trying to bully me into approving the Change order and pay more! · They cheap out on you and try to complete the project as cheap as possible if you don't question things. For example, in the beginning of our floor project we told them we wanted continuous floors and no transition pieces well they built the addition floor about 1.25 Inches lower and try to sell us on a HUGE tripping hazard transition piece. They fought us every step of the way with leveling out the floor. We finally had them raise the floor but instead of reframing the interior doors to the standard 80 inches height they cut the doors making the opening 75 Inches (6.2Ft) which was another fight to complete. · Next they will complete work on a missed line item and submit a change order after the fact and try to bully you into paying for it. We went through 3 Supervisors during the entire project and never received a full schedule that included a projected competition date. (I had to put one together and submit to Brandon) I had to call the ROC multiple times to get them moving. · We had to call multiple material suppliers to get delivery status updates to move the project along even though that should be the responsibility of Holtzman. I had to even schedule my own pool pipe company to move pipes. · After a 3-month flooring delay with one of their suppliers, they held our floors "hostage" on a trailer in the driveway and insulted my wife repeatedly until I paid half of the payment, even though the payment schedule states payment due at "start" of flooring! · Brandon and Joe start out as your friends and really motivated at first "acting buddy, buddy" but will cheap out on you and lie behind your back our insult you because you should have caught the issues in the statement of work. · Rob is not to be trusted he is a "car salesman" he will sell you the moon with a price tag and then "forget" to include line items. Then midway through your project Holtzman will add in lines to "complete" the project increasing the overall cost. I am currently working with the ROC (Register of Contractor's) and I hope to God no one has to go though what I am still going through! read more
