A 4th project completed with JMG contracting, and just as expected they were awesome again. Before you do business with JMG, look at the fine print in their contract, their preferred providers list, how prices are handled, and their "lack of providing a schedule". Buried under item 9 Miscellaneous in their 10 page contract is their Cancellation Policy: "Cancellation Policy - The option to cancel the project with no penalty up until initial deposit is collected. Anytime after the deposit is collected and the client wishes to cancel, JMG will retain 20% of the deposit amount. If JMG has ordered any materials or incurred any other expense such as [but not limited to] meeting with designers, walking the project with the Project Manager and/or Estimator, job creation, or any other labor expense associated with the clients project, JMG will be entitled to additional percentage of the deposit up to the full deposit amount." Even if they never perform ANY work, never show up at your house, and never provide you with a schedule, they can and will enforce a 20% "cancellation fee". They collect at least 40% of the contract quote upon signing, you will pay at least 20% of any money collected or 8% of the total price quote! For a large kitchen project, this could be thousands of dollars. In our case, it was about $8,000. Their preferred provider's list consists of standard companies such as Home Depot and Lowes for many items. We decided to purchase some items from Spencer's and were told that instead we should consider a company that specializes in used or "scratch and dent" appliances! When we visited some suppliers, we asked for prices, we were told to get a quote from JMG. Despite many, many requests for prices and waiting weeks, they never bothered with these requests. When they did provide a price quote, there were no "contractor discounts". We never received a schedule (even after waiting weeks and giving a deadline of "needing a schedule by end of day, on Friday" and being promised that it would be provided!). We were told that our project could be done in 6 to 8 weeks if we signed the contract, and in the email that came with the proposal. "I'll be looking forward to your approval and we can get this moving forward." All this meant was that JMG would setup an online account and then start making promises that never materialized. There are many more complaints about the "expertise" of their staff, their inability to do the work promised, their promises every week to schedule meetings that never happened, their disrespectfully canceling a meeting 15 minutes beforehand, etc. When it became apparent that they weren't planning to start on our kitchen remodel, had no schedule, we realized that we had been "taken". I am so glad we choose JMG contractors to remodel my bathroom. Mike the product manager was professional, compassionate and caring about the job. His team was no joke, straight up workers and I appreciate each one of them. The experience remodeling the bathroom was a bit longer than we expected, with a couple of hiccups when the product came in. But Mike and his team resolved them and kept it moving. Jmg, has been very unprofessional, we did a contract for 2 bathrooms, they wanted 30% up front when contract was signed, then 20% when they started. My fault I should have read the contract better, 50% before they even walk in the door? Their work is not the greatest, my one bathroom the tile is off because they put in the niche wrong and it is not centered in the wall, even tho they had the tile to measure it out, so my one side looks really stupid with this 1' inch piece to on one side my niche. They did not even offer to fix it, as it would have been a complete re-due and I probably would have waited another week to get that done. I did make them fix the tile, when none of the corner lines matched up. Then my new tub already has scratches on it from the workers standing in it and leaving all their garbage in it. The pic show's carboard in the bottom, but that was only after their 1 wall guy put it there, after I called and complained. Most all are always late, even PM says he will be here between X and X and 5 minutes before the last minute, i get, "oh I will be there in 45 minutes", really? Very crappy work, on the walls, they always have to be re-textured, because the one guy has no clue what he is doing. Splatter everywhere, and no clean up. Drinks left on the rooms they are working in, garbage left out from wrappers from supplies.   Grout water and pieces poured in my grass front yard, told them it had to be cleaned up before final check. They are always stopping to go run and get supplies, as they never pre-plan for anything. After the first bath was not even completed, I told them I wanted out of my contract and to not do the 2nd bathroom, asked to speak with the owner, but he would only communicate through their program, Buildertrend, no phone calls, as the email was the only way he would communicate. Promised me all my issues would be mute if we finished the project, umm they did not stop. When they did demo in 2nd bathroom, they knocked out the internet, so I lost 4 hours of work and asked if anyone was going to pay me for the money I lost out on, owner Jeremy, had no reply to that, not even a comment of "no, sorry", or "I will look into this", nothing. I will say that the 2nd guy who did my tiles and the replacement guy who did my wall textures, were great. My 2nd bathroom looks great as they used different guys that they used on the 1st bathroom. On a side note, the guy who gave them 5 stars is their estimate guy, ROFL!!!! read more

Do not use them, ever. I hired them in late 2024 for a basic kitchen remodel and living space reno. I gave them the huge down payment they asked for, and over the next four months they kept asking for more and more money. In those four months they did zero construction on the kitchen and living space. They did, however cause enough destruction to make the home unlivable. I made many, many sacrifices for my country, and now these despicable people take my savings, wreck my home, and leave piles of garbage behind (which they charged me for removing, and didn't remove!). When it comes to home renovation projects we have extremely bad luck. JMG has turned this around. Everyone at JMG from David who performed the initial estimate to Holly who handled handled the purchasing to Bryan supervising the project were amazing to work with. There was a constant flow of communication every step of the way which I have found to be rare in the construction industry. All of the sub specialists really took pride in their work and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the final outcome. JMG Contracting just remodeled a bathroom shower for us after a leak. We were very impresses and appreciative of how they handled the job. They were very clear in their communication with us, told us what to expect and maintained great customer care throughout the project. The lead on our project, Jorge, did a great job of managing the project, addressing and correcting any issues or concerns we had and making sure the project was completed to our satisfaction. They showed up when they said they would and worked hard every day, they were mindful of our home and property and did an excellent job of cleaning up each day and at the completion. The pricing was fair in relation to other bids and the work quality was on the mark. Its hard to find good, reliable contractors, who take pride in their workmanship and ensure the customer had a good experience and I think JMG is that contractor. Thank you JMG! You guys were great to work with. David kicked off the experience by listening to all the details we had for our major remodel (trust me, there were a lot). He listened to our budget and provided an estimate that was within our expectations. Don't expect JMG to give you the lowest estimate but you get what you pay for. Josh and Albert were our contractors. They were very good at communicating and provided us guidance when needed. One downside was going from David to Josh to Albert, some details got lost in the transition. We were able to overcome this via good communication. The job took a little longer than originally planned but it was also in the middle of a tough job market where it's difficult to find good labor. Overall, our family could not be happier with our new home and I would certainly recommend JMG to any friends and family. read more

Project was scheduled to start in July but didn't happen until Sept. it lasted through December so our holidays were inconvenienced. Was texting the contractor weekly because workmen weren't showing up. Have yet to complete small tasks promised to make up for delays. One of the tile was past return time and JMG tried to stick us with the bill. read more

While I am mostly happy with the end result, I would not recommend JMG. It took 3 months to finish a small hall bathroom due to numerous errors. Many things had to be redone, items were damaged, and sometimes they were late or no showed without communication. Also, I had to negotiate what got fixed and redone, not all items were resolved. I am still dissatisfied and upset about the floors. They damaged our floors by leaving tape on them for weeks at a time. They also did not properly complete our bathroom floors. We still have to remodel another bathroom and a kitchen, however, we will be hiring a different company. read more

Jmg, has been very unprofessional, we did a contract for 3 bathrooms. Project started Dec 13, 2022 and still not one bathroom complete. Their work is not great, we have had one bathroom, that tile has been replaced at least 5 times. Very sloppy work all around, most everything they have done has had to be done more then once. Now they are mad and have attitude with us because we want stuff fixed and done right. They don't clean up after themselves at all. Now they won't talk to us by phone or text and must use their app only and still have not answered questions we have concerns about. They took our project manager off our job without letting know and send us a foreman that comes to my house and is very rude, when we don't even know the guy. Many no shows with this company. This project should have been done by now. read more
