567 on 14 St is great. Have gotten about a half-dozen pieces framed there over the past two years or so, and they've always provided excellent service and results. They're polite and friendly, they offer just the right amount of input on framing choices, and they deliver on time. The quality of the job has always been flawless, exactly as promised. In my opinion they offer a great number of unique but very classy frames. I've gotten a watercolor on paper, an oil on paper, a giclee print, a poster and a print on fabric done by them, and I love them all -- and they're in front of me all the time, cause I live in a studio apt. I'm not too sure how their prices stack up to others. I went there on the strength of other comments here on Yelp and have had a great experience so haven't considered anywhere else. I would highly recommend 567 Framing for any kind of print or framing job. I had to get a custom print job and framed on short notice in time for the holidays. They were amazing at getting it done for me. Good framing is hard to find at a reasonable price, and 567 may be the best place I've ever used. I originally found 567 through a Yelp review, and decided to give them a shot. Since then, I've been back and have been extremely pleased every time. I have no plans of trying (or switching) frame shops any time soon. The "showroom" is quite small, but what 567 lacks in size is made up for in selection. Countless options are available, and the price always seems reasonable (not to mentioned there is a Yelp discount you can use). Both Wendee and Eileen (apologies for name misspellings) are both extremely helpful. I try not to give out 5 star reviews like they are going out of style, but 567 is deserving. read more

I have visited both the Manhattan and the Brooklyn locations, and had a great experience both times. First I had some canvas paintings stretched. They did a great job, even with two which had very little edging to work with. Then I went back with a print and a small watercolor. They helped me pick out perfect frames. Decided to take the virgin voyage with the Yelp Deal by purchasing $75 worth of framing for $35. It was timely too, because my university and MBA degrees had collected enough dust to make the light fixtures at McSorley's Old Ale House envious. So how was 567 Framing? Look, I'm the last guy in the world you'd want handling your framing decisions. Fortunately, the woman I worked with explained the differences between matting and double matting...the glass options...and all the other basics everyone else in this world already knows about framing. Bottom line, I felt like I was given the time to understand my options and felt comfortable that I'd gotten a decent deal. They called me about two weeks later and both frames turned out great. My two degrees with double matting ended up costing me about $400 (or $360 after applying the Yelp deal). Hopefully it won't be another 10 years until I finally hang these things. I needed to get custom matting done for three comic books that I wanted framed. I originally wanted to get it custom framed but they recommended Ikea frames. The Ikea frames were perfect. Their custom matting was done perfectly. The measurements were on point and the quality excellent. My comic books look fantastic. Three custom matting cost me $45 plus tax. I'm at a point in my life that I am willing to get spend money to get sentimental things displayed professionally. You can always ask for a better price and they are willing to work with you, just bargain with skill, not like a cheapskate or an moody child. Found em on Yelp so I dropped in to see if they could do a rush job for me. Was not impressed with the interior of the store, but stayed because of the quality reviews by other yelpers. Was helped by Wendee....she was really helpful and professional. I told her I was in a mad rush to get three canvass framed 4 four days! She calmly called the owner and they agreed to do the work for a rush fee. I quickly agreed. The quote was more than I wanted to pay (but it always is....quality custom framing is never cheap). I pushed back on the price and she agreed to drop the rush fee. Overall I was happy with the price. The work was perfect and delivered on time as promised. Wow! What a great experience. Hey Yelp, what the F-bomb?! I wrote a review on this place and it disappeared. But as I keep returning here, I'm back once again to give props where props are due. This place is very good at what they do and the finished results are always top notch. I first came in to have a pretty basic frame job done for some Broadway posters for the office. Their rates are competitive and if you mention Yelp, they will give you a 10-15% discount! This is huge in the pricey game that is art framing. Enough to make you bite the bullet and go for the double matte or nicer glass or wooden frame option. A gal named Nicole that works at the 14th st location is very helpful and will offer her suggestions for matting, or frame styles. I've gone in there twice now with an idea of what I wanted and left with something completely different but much classier. They usually take about a week per a job, but this is the sort of craft you want people taking their time with. They will also call you and let you know when it will be ready so you can coordinate your schedule to pick it up. They are totally accommodating. read more

I brought two pieces to 567 to frame, one photograph and one print. The help I received was patient and friendly: I had a fairly clear idea what I wanted and their suggestions were thoughtful and never overly insistent. The selection of frames, glass, mattes, and styles was excellent. In the end, the work took about ten days and cost $250, which I regard as fair given the size of the prints and my frame selections. When I mounted the prints in my office, I noticed that the one with the photograph was visibly awry. This was easy to see when standing six feet away, but was evidently harder to see when it was just quickly presented to me plastic wrapped and on the table in the shop. It turns out that the bottom band of the matte cutout was not completely horizontal. The distance from the frame to the bottom of the print was off 1/8" when comparing the left side and the right side of the photo. The not-completely-rectangular framing of the photo looked pretty bad. Moreover, the beveled matte cut itself was a bit jagged, as if it had been done in haste. I took it down and returned it to 567. They were very apologetic and seemed embarrassed. They did the repair in four days. I am pleased with the final products. The errorwasn't a big deal other than being annoying to have to return the piece. Rationally-- given all the positive reviews here--I know it must have been an unusual mess up. But, to be frank, I wouldn't necessarily head back to 567 without trying some alternatives. read more

This is one of the best frame shops I've ever been to EVER. Not only are all the prices incredibly reasonable, but the staff is SO helpful. I don't have much money for framing - it's usually so expensive that I avoid buying unframed art all together, but 567 totally changed this for me. On my way to pick up a piece now - at A.I. Friedman, I was told it would cost me at least $250 and would take a month. 567 charged me $91, helped me design the frame, and I dropped it off Friday and it's already ready (today's Monday!) Do not get me wrong I am satisfied with my final product and I might be nit picking, but I think this review might be helpful for people who are in my same boat. I was very excited to come here after the great reviews, and the $40 off yelp coupon put me into 6th gear to get a print I had made for me finally framed of a very important hotel project I worked on. They were very knowledgeable, had great ideas and pretty much took my thoughts and laid them out on the table in front of me. I felt however the molding and the canvas stretching could have been a lot better. The canvas print is just ever so slightly skewed from the panel and the borders are just ever so slightly distracting now. The corners of the frame are also a bit rough around the edges and there is some glue residue around the sides. They didn't even give me any mounting hardware. They did an ok job. For the price I am pretty content. I will be happy to return to mount my own prints or affordable art. I wouldn't bring anything extremely valuable because for the average craftsmanship it might detract from the artwork. I most likely will not have any of my gallery prints done here either. Not bad, but could be better. read more

Before getting a quote from 567 Framing I had contacted around ten other framing and/or printing services and received either quotes that were much too high or regrets that they weren't able to do the job--which consisted of putting foam backing on a very large platform subway map and adding a brace and a wire for hanging. 567 Framing quoted me the best price by far, including a very reasonable delivery charge. They were also the only place I contacted that had no problem doing any part of the requested work. I've always relied on 567 for all of my framing work based on the really professional and clean work they do paired with incredibly reasonable pricing - a combination that is near impossible to find in the city. On my most recent visit however, it seemed that their prices had really skyrocketed - an error on my part because I'd apparently chosen a more expensive frame than I'd used in the past. Four stars for even accepting to help me five days before Christmas! Frantically calling framing places hoping that the 16'' print that I got for my father's Christmas present could be custom framed before I flew home for the 'Burgh. Jack said, "Yes. Come in today and it will be ready in three days." Thank you God. Thank you, Jack. Scrambled down to grab the print from home, then back up to the shop. Cozy little store and close to the subway. I got help from my roommate picking out the frame and the matting. Jack was so helpful. He showed the different shades of white that we could use for the matting and we decided with a museum quality eggshell white (the print was black and white and we didn't want to wash it out). Then, we discussed glass. The museum glass is awesome. If I were taking it home - I would have done that, hands down. But, since I had to ship it, we chose a nice plexiglass. The day came to pick it up. I called and they said it was ready... went during lunch to the store to pick it up and ship it... IT WAS NOT PLEXIGLASS! Oh no! They apologized and said they would replace it immediately. I came back after work and it was perfect. Literally, perfect. Why minus the star? Because when I finally got to the Fedex store to mail it, they were out of art sized boxes. We did get it shipped, but it cost extra and was a huge hassle. If it had been done correctly the first time, it would have saved me the hassle. Oh well, next time I need something framed I am coming back to Jack! Oh yes, and my dad LOVED the picture (an original print of Babe Ruth smoking a cigar - yes I fucking rock). read more

After 12 long years, I finally framed my medical school diploma. I found this place on Yelp, and it lives up to its reputation. Nicole, was the lady who helped me select the right frames and matting. She spent an hour helping me sort through different frames and figuring out what colors would go with my new office. She is fabulous! The prices are reasonable for what you get. I picked up my framed pieces today and was absolutely in love with the finished product. I have two new art pieces that I'm getting framed by them just because I was so happy with their work. After a rather disappointing experience at another framing shop earlier this year, my attitude towards getting another art piece framed changed for the worse. However, after picking up two frames recently here, my faith in picture framers has been restored. They beautifully mounted my two window boxes creating a striking visual effect for a few pieces I picked up on a trip to Buenos Aires. This wasn't the easiest of projects, but for the price I paid, I felt I got my money's worth. I would definitely recommend them and they have earned my repeat business. I had a great experience at 567 Framing after finding it on Yelp. I don't know anything about framing or where to go, so thanks Yelp! I came during the week around 5:30 pm and was able to talk to someone right away. They were very friendly and the woman who helped me really took her time with the print I wanted to get framed. I told her I just wanted something simple and didn't really know what I was doing and she gave me some great suggestions. She ended up suggesting a color and type of frame that I would never have thought of, and it really brought out the softer tones in the print. It looks great! As far as pricing, framing in general can get expensive so I don't think 567's prices are anything out of the ordinary. I paid half of the total price as a deposit when I dropped off the print and then paid the remaining balance when I came back to pick up the finished print. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you out to the best of their ability. I just got a HUGE framing job done (39 x 39) and the owner even carried it out for me to the corner of 7th as a hailed down a cab! Not all framing shops are alike. Some of the most expensive shops are almost guaranteed to produce excellent results, but at a very high price. In the mid-range of framing, results can be unpredictable. I went to 567 Framing on 14th Street because of the great reviews. I wasn't sure how best to frame the piece I brought in, but the man who helped me with my order gave great recommendations, which were surprisingly all in good aesthetic taste. We get a lot of framing done, both of personal photos and valuable artwork. We found 567 online and heard good things so tried it. Framing a vintage film poster, we wanted advice and an appreciation of the limits of our spending. We got both, and patient and tasteful advice about the pros and cons of different variations of glass and frames. 567 did a fine job framing the work I brought them -- my big problem was that the quote they gave me was half of what I was eventually charged when I picked up the finished frame. Since I'm a freelance artist and fronted the money for the frame, the huge change in price was a financial blow to me since I ended up having to absorb some of the price difference. Obviously it's partially my fault for not waiting to send my client the bill until I had seen the real bill, but still, underquoting that low is a shady business practice and makes me hesitant to go back. read more
