This is a good framing store in Midtown that I used often when I worked nearby. It's run by a couple of brothers who are very friendly. The space isn't large but the selection of frame is good; I would classify these guys are more all purpose framers than specialists (ie: expensive artwork), but that's all the average person needs. It also helps that these guys are a bit cheaper than similar stores. For a tall/long print I brought them awhile back they charged me ~$75, which is much cheaper than the ~$100 I was quoted at other framing stores. That alone, as well as how quick they got the job done and that they used quality framing materials, was a good deal. I would definitely recommend them for anyone in the neighborhood. read more

I had never had anything framed before, and they talked me through the whole process, even looked at pictured of my house to help me choose nice textures and colors for the framing on my print. I was so happy, I went back to them for a custom mirror in my entry way. Two years after purchasing, the frame on the mirror started to come off, and the fixes it quickly with no charge. I had been going here for years. I had four very large pieces framed, they did a great job, no complaints there. Expensive, but custom framing is expensive, I get it. Unfortunately, I then had five smaller (about two feet by one foot) pieces framed-also expensive, but again, custom framing, I get it. I didn't hang them for a couple of years, I preferred them propped up. I finally hung them a couple of weeks ago and four of the five fell off the wall. The frames literally came apart. I went into the shop to discuss, I didn't expect to get them fixed for free but to my mind, they should stand behind their work, I thought perhaps they would fix them for around $100 or so. As mentioned, one of the five smaller pieces is totally fine and didn't come apart. Instead of being apologetic, they tried to charge me $320 plus tax to reframe them, and said they were "hung incorrectly". I hung them according to the clips and wires that were attached. They are light pieces. If they were "hung incorrectly" why did the four large pieces and the one small piece stay up just fine? Additionally, I was told I "had an attitude" when I objected to the price. Fine. You've lost a very good customer, and the insult was unnecessary. Terrible work for something I spent a lot of money on. If I could give no stars I would. read more

I went in for a simple request. To have a wire attached to a framed print. I kept the plastic around it as I had just received it via delivery and thought best as I walked there not to remove. He kept plastic on and didn't even look at what he was adding a wire too. Firstly, he screwed in the screws through the plastic wrap (messy) and then said oh shit. He attached the wire upside down. He removed the screws leaving 2 holes in the back and then proceeded to turn it around to attach wires correctly. Again screwing through the plastic. So when I went home to take plastic off part of it was screwed into the back. And then charged me $20. I would never bring anything there to be framed, matted etc as you can see the quality of work and attention to detail is lacking. read more

Wow, very impressed by this place. I was looking for a shop to frame the photo booth prints/wedding program from my best friend's wedding. Obviously a weird shape that would require custom framing. I decided on Framing on 9th because of the great yelp reviews and was very pleased with my choice. Most importantly, I was able to consult with Mike initially to figure out the exact layout, look, frame, and matte I wanted. He has a great aesthetic-style, and I appreciated his input. He initially quoted me a price that included custom matte cut-outs to frame the photos and program. However, the quoted price was out of my budget, so we decided to just lay the photos on top of the matte. It didn't look as good, but I was satisfied, especially with half the cost. To my absolute surprise and wonderment when I came to pick up the finished product, I found that Mike went ahead and gave me the custom matte cut-out finish. And he did not charge me any extra cost! I'm a newbie to getting artwork framed, so when I bought two large painting prints and needed to get them framed had no idea where to go but after seeing some great reviews on here I decided to bring my prints here. The pieces were pretty large, about 2x2.5 feet, and very colorful. I knew I wanted a white frame but needed advice for everything else. Mike is the owner and the person who helped me. He was patient and super helpful in showing me different white frames and different matting that would best suit the art I was framing so that the frame would enhance the art and not distract from it. I picked them up today and they look incredible! Mike even asked how far I'd be transporting them so he could wrap them with a handle so I could safely take them with me the short distance I needed to go.
