Called ahead 1hr for 2 pedicures. They said anytime. When we arrived they seated us fairly quickly and confirmed our pedicure choices. Mid pedicure she changed it to a more expensive one with my consent for extra services of scrubbing skin which is usually included in other local pedicure places. Asked if my mom could upgrade hers to the same as mine. There was confusion and push back saying no she picked #2 youre #3. I said yes I know we are asking can she upgrade it to get the cooling mask. They confirmed. So beside that odd encounter, the SAME song played the entire time. Over an hour. We mentioned it and they said ya... same song. We requested anything else, a Playlist or something. But the song remained. I used to come here for years. It's on its 3rd owner since we started coming. Beside my personal review, theres aseptic technique concerns. Some care was provided with gloves and then without. And the orange scrub they dip in and out of with the same wooden stick for every customer. Likely will not be returning here for these reasons plus many that have occurred before. Overall nice people. Just need to work on atmosphere and following aseptic technique for customer safety. I went in for a simple basic manicure. Everyone was very nice there but the service not so great. My polish didn't last 24 hours. It was chipped along with several nails the next day. Found this placed based on reviews and can't say how happy I am. Sam did a wonderful job and I am a very very picky person. He gave me a new set and as you can tell in the pictures and videos the shaping is perfect. Not crooked and the layering of the acrylic is smoothe and even. One side is not thicker than the other. He applied it all the way to my cuticle and not before it so it should last longer. I love everything he did. I will be a regular now! Hours have been updated- now closed on Tuesday's. read more

visited this salon to try somewhere new and the worker doing mine and my mothers pedicures were very rude. I said i wanted a french tip without gel and she told me no to pick a plain color and the other lady rudely laughed whenever we asked and side eyed the other worker. I believe EJ was her name and she wore an orange apron and rushed my pedicure in 15 minutes when the service is a 30 minute service. She rushed because she got a call from another client making an appointment and left me on the chair instead of walking me to the drying chair she began to rush and the work wasn't done the way it should've been. EJ came off very rude and was even more rude to the worker i believe who was Kim (the one who laughed and gave the side eye) she had an attitude and was very rude and made me uncomfortable and not want to go back. read more

Booked a last-minute appointment, and I don't regret it! I have a bad habit of picking at my cuticles and biting my nails but I prefer a natural look, so I don't tend to get my nails done. I generally have a hard time with Nail Techs at other salons not wanting to do shorter acrylics, but Sam was very accommodating and thorough. There is an abundance of nail salons in Modesto. Finding one you want to return to can be quite difficult. (I should know I've been to at-least 10!) This was my second visit here and Both times I was a walk in and had a very small wait time. They are polite, helpful and accommodating. I've been to this location twice and received two very different nail experiences. The nail technician who recently did my nails was a male and didn't seem too experienced. While filing my nails, I kept telling him it was burning and was painful and he kept on going. I am also not satisfied with the way he painted my nails. It was very sloppy, uneven coating and when I asked him to fix it, he just smiled and kept painting. I don't recommend this nail salon unless you're not picky and don't care about the overall service. I think there are better places in Modesto. read more

This wasn't the first time I went to 5 star nails unfortunately I had a horrible experience compared to my first visit when I had this male working there took real good care of me. Wish I asked for him. This lady was very judgemental of my feet, my toes and the sole of my feet. She made faces and was rude when i asked for a design i asked her for simple flower and tried to show her and she told me something that was supposed to be simple wasn't suppose to be so complicated, all I asked for was a flower with 3 dots in a line how hard is that honestly. she use the drill on my cuticles really harshly 2 of my toes were bleeding the whole rest of the visit which was a hour long and is now very sore. She started asking another customer about her working on her eyebrows while working with my feet. The other customer agreed and just a they were finishing she was looking anxiously and wanted to go work with her so I told her go ahead in fear of her working roughly on my feet out of being upset. She was happy I was so nice to her but she was still rude the whole visit. I will not go back there again. 5 star nails yeah right now like brutal nail salon. read more

Stopped in to get a pedicure, and had never been there before. I was out & about & my usual place doesn't always have walk ins available. The staff were friendly enough, but I didn't see a price board posted, or at least if there was one, I didn't notice it. When I sat down, she brought me the standard "menu" card. The basic pedi, which I selected, is $30. A little higher than some. She told me the next level up was "better". Looking at the description, I asked if the only difference is the sugar scrub, and she said "yes". I was fine with the basic. She rushed through it, and the so-called "massage" portion was about 30 seconds per foot & leg of gently rubbing on of the lotion. Not a massage at all. Pretty much the worst pedi I've had, from a quality standpoint, for a little more money than better basic pedis elsewhere. I'll be going back to my usual place. read more

I love this place. I'll switch it up and go somewhere else every once in a while and I'm never happy. Today I walked in and asked for 2 pedis and a mani. Almost every chair was full for pedicures but they quickly wrapped things up to start working on me. And quickly made a chair available next to me for the other pedi.
