Had a fantastic experience working with Chris and the team at 5 Points. We first ordered a front door--the pricing was fair, and Chris gave me a call as soon as it arrived. My GC installed it without issue, and it looks beautiful. We were so happy with the experience that we went on to order all of our interior doors (Masonite Logan). Once again, everything went smoothly. Chris was incredibly helpful, advising us on door jamb sizing--especially important since our build includes thicker-than-average drywall. At one point, I accidentally ordered a pocket door frame we didn't need. Chris caught the mistake and contacted the distributor first thing the next business day. Thanks to his quick action, we were able to cancel the order without paying a restocking fee. I'd highly recommend 5 Points for any of your door needs. Rude employees abandoned their company vehicle in the alleyway and parked illegally directly behind a residents garage- blocking all alleyway access for the rest of the residents. They left no safety cones out, no flashing blinkers, nothing. Someone could have drove around the corner and hit their truck. This was left there for well over a half an hour while they installed a door. Why couldn't they simply park in a parking spot like normal folks? You can see in one of the pictures if you enlarge it that someone else was parked in a legal space behind the truck to the left- since their truck was parked behind a garage, no one could get through the alleyway. They abandoned their company truck there, and went to the front of the property to install a door. None of the residents could access the alleyway or their garages. When I approached them and told them to move it, the employee said , "If you say please". Unprofessional, rude and a safety hazard. These are not the type of folks that I want to do business with. I was extremely pleased with the professionalism exhibited by the employees of 5 Points Windows. I had my windows installed in July 2023. I waited a few weeks to determine how well they worked, before writing this review. Prior to installation, I had some leakage in a couple of windows and the sound and the wind from outside came through the windows a lot. Since the installation of the new windows, the leaks are gone, I hardly notice the sounds from outside and my house is cooler (it's summer time right now) and I'm not having to run my A/C as much. I am going to presume the house will be warmer during the winter time. I am very very happy with the choice I made to go with 5 Points Windows. I was also very happy with the price. [Review #589] 2021 Yelp 100 Challenge (2/100) I found 5 Points Sash & Doors through our monthly BestBuysGuide.com. They frequently advertise "a deal" to replace a certain number of windows for whatever price, but you need to read the footnotes on what's not covered & the types of windows, which did not include patio sliding windows/doors. :-| One of my neighbors had their windows replaced by 5 Points Sash & Doors, so we followed suit after waiting about a month to check if they were satisfied with the installation & if there were any issues. They're about mid-range in price amongst the local door/window services, & chose them to replace our windows. 5PS&D kept the existing frames & installed the new patio windows & windows from Milgard in the bedrooms. We didn't like the dark sealant that was used on our neighbors' windows & requested a clear sealant, which they did. It was a bit noisy but they kept their mess to a minimal & cleaned up afterwards, though we did our own thorough cleaning after they left (quite a bit of dust considering there's no real construction involved). We were initially was very impressed with our windows replacement & inquired about swapping out our termite damaged door a couple years later. After confirming the date & time, the installation guy was late & rude. I didn't understand why he couldn't stain the door prior to bringing it over for installation, even doing under my watchful eye, he claims 1 layer is more then enough & will last. Yeah, right! I can see the original color showing through the stain. I kept arguing with him until my hubby came home & put his foot down for this guy "bullying" me. And installer completed the door installation under my husband's eagle eye. I did one final check & asked about the weather strips because I thought there were gaps. Again, with the arguments. :-X At this point, we were done & dismissed the guy without tipping him. Weatherstripping is the process of sealing openings such as doors & windows from the elements, with a secondary goal of keeping interior air in, thus saving energy on heating & air conditioning. The window replacement team was more customer-oriented than the door guy. This door guy reminds you of the stereotypical tardy plumber with the buttcrack showing. Not only was the weatherstripping poorly done, the locks were also not secured properly (they lock but they jiggle which makes me feet the lock will fail) so we had to disassemble & re-install it. After the door installation, we had to deal with the same guy coming out to seal the door again a couple of months later because our door was fading due to the heat/summer light because it wasn't properly stained the 1st time. I'm not sure if it's the door or stain quality, but we had to stain this new year annually in the spring because the stain doesn't last & we've tried multiple brands, which makes me think it's the door issue; our termite damaged door was only stained once in 15 years. Not only that, the weather strips starting gapping a few months later. ＼(｀0´)／ 5 Points Sash & Doors excels in sales, promising you the world; however, if you have any issues or questions afterwards, you're pretty much on your own & out of pocket to resolve your issue with a different quality vendor/contractor. I've waited almost a year to write this review because I don't like to just write bad reviews but everyday that I sit at home looking at my windows, I am filled with anger. I was replacing four windows. I was referred here by my HOA. Initially, I had someone come out in 2018 to measure. I believe this was the old owner. He gave me an estimate based on those measurements. In 2020, I went in store to get a new proposal going. I gave them the measurements that I was given in 2018 for said proposal. I discussed the noise I am dealing with and was told to get laminated windows. Working with them was tough. I would ask something and it would take forever for an answer. I would get quick one sentence answers that may not cover what I actually asked. Someone came out and measured again and the 2018 measurements from their company was wrong so you know my estimate went up. Though it took forever to get that estimate since I had to email several times and call twice over a few days. The person that came out and installed went back and forth from being borderline rude to being nice. I was getting whip lash from their attitude. I would ask a question and he would shush me. I just looked at my boyfriend like what is happening? Being shushed in my own house when I am trying to spend a few thousand with this company. Installation was quoted at $800 for FOUR WINDOWS! On the day of installation, ONE person showed up. This is one person carrying giant windows. Struggling to install them himself. Now you can say what you want about earthquakes but these were installed like crap. They are crooked and i'm pretty sure they aren't the right size still because about four inches of foam needed to be jammed into the two larger windows to get them to fit. I bought tan windows. They brought only white caulk. He was trying to encourage me to just use it and I had to say no. Eventually he went to Home Depot and bought some tan caulk. The caulk lines are a straight up mess. Since the windows are either too small or not installed correctly, the vinyl isn't straight either so there are big gaps between where the window sits and the vinyl and caulk doesn't fill it properly since there is a gap. The whole process was a mess. I pushed for it though because I was sick of hearing my neighbor's bird and it was going to be fast from paying to installation. I should have shopped around more. I was also told it would be 14 business days before I get my windows. When I called 5 Points on the 15th business day, I was told the factory had shut down because someone got COVID and that it would now be in September. I had a feeling I was lied to so I called Milgard myself and she said that none of their factories had closed down due to COVID and that they had always been at a 6-8 week leadtime so I was lied to. They literally said I was lied to by 5 Points. In my eyes, it seemed like a true bait and switch because they encouraged me to proceed with a short leadtime but then it ended up being awhile before I actually got my windows and then they wanted me to wait three weeks to have them installed. The back and forth between the sales associates was unprofessional. Just answer the questions and do your job and send out the quotes. I work in sales so I get how the process works and you get busy but if someone has to keep calling for their quote, you don't do anything else and just send it out before you forget to do it again. One of my windows had a defect so they had to open up a claim. Milgard called me to coordinate a swap. I then get an email a few days later with a case number. I call Milgard and i'm like "Did 5 Points open up TWO cases for me?" and they said yes and had to close one. For all the follow up I had to do on behalf on 5 Points, I should have gotten paid. Basically, this company is a hot mess and they are not professional. Two stars because they did give me a trade discount on the windows so that is appreciated. read more

Owner Chris was an effective salesman who was friendly and knew his trade very well. Installer Dana and his assistant Mike did an excellent job replacing our big aging and leaking Milgard window. 5 Points was superior to the other windows-and-doors shop in Torrance, because they sell and install, so customers do not deal with two separate entities, a shop and a subcontractor/installer, at the same time. The only caution I would say is that 5 points has so big a backlog of orders: customer has to be patient about the eventual installation schedule. read more

New owner! Chris. the new owner is like the old movie Miracle on 34th where Mr Gimbel and Mr Bloomingdale start recommending people shop at each others stores! I have had three window guys to my house and Five Points was the last. He was extremely honest, at the risk of losing my business. He told me that my windows did not need to be replaced, only serviced and went on to provide me with the names and numbers of the guys that he had confidence could do it at a very reasonable cost. I agreed that the look of my windows were fine but I struggled to open and CHRIS offered a great solution! When someone has this level of integrity, they deserve HIGH PRAISE!! He also fit me in on a Saturday for the bid because he was booked out for the next week and I wanted to settle in on my bids. I want to mention that apparently the prior owner did not have a good reputation and because of that several contractors I spoke to for other work did the "scrunchy face" when I mentioned the company but I was willing to try them because Jason at Windor had told me it was a new owner and the old reputation was no longer deserved. 5 Points installed new windows and sliding glass doors at my home in 2002. A few days ago, the handle to my sliding door broke. I took the handle to 5 Points and I was helped by Chris who is the owner. Wow! This guy is amazing. He spent about 30 minutes going through his stock of old handles trying to find one that would work. He found one but we weren't sure it would work. Chris said if it worked, we owed him nothing. After living many years on a traffic busy street we decided to "Invest" in double pane windows. After doing my product and supplier research I selected 5 points windows and doors at 23032 Normandie Ave, Torrance. We were expecting pressure sales and confusing information. I am very happy to say we got no pressure, just solid guidance and excellent information that answered all of our questions. Chris Eastburn was the gentleman who guided us, and we now have new double pane windows and doors installed and we are loving them! They actually do everything Chris said they would do. Our noise level is down to practically zero and the temperature comfort level is great as well. All in all a great experience, and quiet night's sleep. I bought 7 windows and a 45" by 96" Front door from 5 Points when we did an addition in 2011. I recently purchased a door for an outdoor utility closet from them. In both cases, I got exactly what I wanted and the price was excellent. Avi and Aaron are the two brothers that run the place. When we did the room addition, Avi even came by the house to double check our measurements. He even drove by after we finished to see how the project turned out. With the utility closet door, I began by getting a price from Home Depot. This door is shorter than standard, and Home Depot could not find a vendor that would make on the height I needed (72.5 inches). I went to 5 points and they came through. I had the door installed less than a week later. read more

The owner Avi as some other reviews commented is very slick salesperson, he originally visited, was eager to get the transaction going- seemed too rushed not taking the time to discuss in a bit of detail what we needed. Nevertheless he said he could offer a "good deal" so hubby wanted to go with him, as he was leaving he made a rude inappropriate comment to a family member, and claimed "just joking". Apparently Avi is the front man after that the installation your own your own- they were over 2 weeks late with the doors so I called and a pleasant receptionist answered and took a message from me to leave with the installer why the doors were so late. I was called back by I believe it was Chris who was incredibly rude and said our order ( in other words the dollar amount) wasn't that much so if I was unhappy waiting we could go elsewhere. The way I was talked to dismissed bc of a legitimate concern over the long delay was disgusting and really taking advantage of customers once they made a payment they don't care about giving professional kind customer service. The installer finally came 3 weeks later with doors and to my disbelief said the measurements Avi took were incorrect and he'd have to reorder but promised it would only be one more week. He was very casual as if it was a routine thing that Avi gave incorrect measurements. The following week when he arrived w the doors it was disappointing not the quality promised, he left a large heavy tarp on the floor w wood dust, I assumed he was coming back to clean it up and take the tarp but no, he was either in a hurry and forgot or just didn't care to bother with it. Never again will we go with 5 points and their slick business owner Avi who is only there the first time to secure the deal after that they don't care about follow up, if they're late with the doors they rudely dismiss your concern. read more

The crew replaced our 2 French doors which were from Milguard & a full glass door to the laundry room. One of doors has side vents that open, screened, custom. All the doors are fiberglass. Looks as if I'll never have to replace these doors as they feel solid & strong! I have TONS OF DIRECT SUN & exposure to the elements of dirt & rain. The crew didn't just install the doors, they added the proper framing to secure the doors & gave a very clean finish look. I did end up having to paint the unfinished molding. Bottom line: The crew worked very hard & did an excellent job! I did find a few screws on the patio floor so be on a lookout. I asked for touch up paint & was told it would be put on special order. I thought to myself gee I hope they don't forget about my request since I already handed over the check... After a few days a gentleman (I was on the phone) dropped off the paint to my son & waved bye as he drove off. From a Customer Service standpoint, AARON has excellent communication and follow through without any high-pressure sales tactics often found within the industry. He's very patient and when you make an appointment, goes over your options and pricing and lays it all out. There's none of this "if you order today, I can give you X% off but if you don't make a decision now, the price goes up by X$" tactics (which I did experience from Renew By Anderson's sales team which was a bit off-setting in a used car salesman heavy handed high pressure style/approach). AARON gives you a price and he'll honor it so long as his overhead doesn't change (obviously you can't hold a quote too long where wages to his employees goes up as possibly cost of materials too). He lets you think and consider his services without any pressure to make a decision. He's a very polite and nice professional person. I have odd sized windows of various shapes (arches and circles) and he explains all of the options including what/where are mandatory uses "tempered glass" for safety reasons that adhere to building codes. I ended up not using 5 Points Sash & Doors... YET! (I've not chosen anyone for that matter) But when I'm ready to do a renovation with window changes, I'll be sure to call up AARON and 5 Points Sash & Doors to see if the pricing has changed and reconsider doing the work. As an FYI - Aaron and 5 Points Sash & Doors had nothing to do with my decision to not go through with the work, it was a personal and financial decision I made to put it off, and I'm giving them * * * * * FIVE STARS based upon my experiences for the at home appointment for an estimate and AARON's communication and professionalism through the process and follow-up/through too. read more

I visited the store, knowing exactly what I wanted, and asked to have someone come out to measure before I purchase a custom door. Cris came out, measured and promised to get us a quote in the next few days. We waited, and mind you that it takes 6-8 weeks to get a custom door from the point of ordering... so we waited well over a week for a quote even after I called to remind them about the quote... still nothing. We have used 5 Points for every door job needed at our church. Last project was maybe 10 years ago. They replaced 2 doors and did an excellent job and doors are still in excellent shape. Fall 2021 I called them again. I wanted to replace another door at my church. Chris came out & said he'd email or send the estimate. Weeks later, nothing. I called 2 or 3 more times the following weeks, and he was always busy. I left multiple voicemails and as of today, July 2022. Going on 10 months and not even a courtesy call back. Very disappointed with 5 Points and will take our business elsewhere where the customer service is better. I feel as a customer that I do not have to beg for services. read more

Pricing is competitive, but the customer service is subpar in my experience. When I ordered the doors, I was told that the doors would be ready for pickup in 1 week, which was a major reason why I ordered from them and not Home Depot. I called them 8 days after ordering and the guy on the phone told me it would be another 10 days, and that no doors are ever available for pickup after only a week. After finally picking up the doors, I realized that I had ordered one in the wrong swing. Totally my fault, but I was hoping I'd be able to exchange it. The guy on the phone was very rude about it, and quickly hung up with a "thank you, good bye." If I had to do it over again, I'd probably just order from Home Depot or Lowe's with the peace of mind knowing that I'd be able to easily exchange the door if something is not right. read more

The folks that run this business are very polite, good salesmen until there's a problem. And if you don't have a problem, it would be surprising. These two are so hyperactive that they have trouble writing up estimates and contracts completely. They rush to complete paperwork to the point where the numbers had to be corrected many times. When our sales rep was done correcting the numbers as we instructed, he acted like it was a good thing he caught these errors. He managed to mess up our order even so. We ordered windows with grids and we didn't receive windows with grids even though the paper work clearly said, grids. We could have gone to court over this and it would have cost him a lot more than the $2000 dollars he rebated us. Now we have windows without grids forever... When there was misunderstanding about payment amount, the owners were extremely rude. They act like 2 minutes to discuss any issues is too much of their time. If I need repairs for any of the work they did, I doubt they'll provide any service. read more

In 2006, I had all my windows replaced by 5 Points. At the time, they did a good job. The owners then have sold the business and the new owner is not the best to work with. Unless you are redoing your entire house, they have no interest in helping you with one window. It's very disappointing. I took my business to Ganahal Lumber on 190th. They provide EXCELLENT customer service and actually respond to emails and phone messages. read more

We just had exterior doors replaced and have used Five Points for years to retrofit windows at multiple homes, always with good results. Chuck, Alex and the rest of the installation team did a great job, including replacement of door thresholds and careful waterproofing outside, making sure we knew how to use and care for the doors, and left with everything cleaned-up as always. The new owner Chris was especially helpful with questions and quickly addressing one issue we ran into during the process. We often get different staff on the phone when calling for quotes or installation scheduling, but they have all been polite and responsive, offered competitive pricing, and provided accurate estimates for delivery timing, so we would recommend and use them again. read more
