I would be very cautious about using 5 Points Sash & Doors. The products they sell are not the problem. The owner Avi is a very fast talker and is very happy to sell you whatever you want... but beware because they are very high priced on everything and the worst part is that they subcontract out their work for installations so Avi does not stand by any installation problems. You have to deal with the installer yourself. I had a simple new one door install from my garage to the outside. It leaks into the garage every time it rains and installer Alex came out to fix again and still never fixed it right. BEWARE!! read more

5 Points did a great job on my 5 windows. Avi was a great salesman and I appreciated how honest he was with me about what I needed and didn't need. The guys who came to do the installation were great. They were careful with my belongings and did a window retrofit in less than one day, cleaning up everything before they left. My one issue with them might be their telephone customer service. I have a sliding screen door scheduled to be delivered this Saturday. I called to see if they could possibly replace the screen with a heavier, sturdier screen, as I have three cats who love to climb the screen to catch flies! The answer was, "No. That's it." I was taken aback by the abrupt answer, but I figured the answer was they couldn't do it. I'm surprised by the answer, seeing that providing screen doors are part of their business, but I guess I'll have to find someone else to replace the screen. Despite the less than courteous telephone response, I wouldn't let that deter you from doing business with this company. I've been looking for a door handle for my vinyl sliding patio door that broke off, so I stopped just to enquire to if perhaps they might carry this specific handle. Unfortunately I have to update this review and change my 5-star rating to 3 stars. Although the order in the store with Chris was pleasant, and the doors and windows arrived as scheduled, once everything was installed, I discovered that one of the doors for inside garage access was predrilled for a deadbolt, which I did not request. Not a big deal but at the time I ordered everything, that deadbolt and one for the back door was not included in the order, now causing a delay. And all the entry locks that I requested to be keyed alike arrived all with different key codes. As a result, I had to take two of the locksets back to be rekeyed and order two more deadbolts. A week later after picking up the deadbolts and rekeyed locks, the rekeyed locks don't worked properly causing another delay and trip back to get it fixed. Doesn't the guy who does your key work double-check his work? This should have been a done deal a month ago but here I am, still waiting for things to be made right. read more

I love the Millguard product, and Avi was great, as was the pricing. However, I would recommend watching the install team closely. I don't know what happened to my carpet during the install, but it has not been the same since, ever after a steam cleaning. Odd, pink foot prints were left on it.They did put down a blanket, but there must have been moisture that went through. Also some caulk to near by furniture. I did not call the company to address the issues, but again, I was happy with the product, but disappointed with the install team. read more

Avi and his company (5 Points) were recommended to me by a neighbor who was very happy with their work. I called him and noticed immediately that he was both extremely friendly and personable but also very professional. He is very "customer satisfaction-oriented". I had been given an estimate from another big name company a month back, which was ridiculously overpriced. I was really hoping that Avi could beat that price (or else windows were not happening). Not only did Avi (the owner) personally show up but he beat the original estimate by more than half off! So of course I placed the order and paid the security deposit. All throughout the process he was very flexible and willing to help me out however he could. Since I just purchased my condo, I racked up a good amount of debt on my credit card furnishing and getting situated. So after putting more thought into it, I decided that although I definitely wanted to do business with 5 Points, maybe this wasn't the best time for me. I called Avi and without any hassle at all, he refunded my deposit within the next half hour. I highly recommend 5 Points. This business has a BAD ATTITUDE towards customers service. When the 3 windows for my kitchen arrived, and they were 10 inches too short. Five Points admitted it was their fault. Prior to installation a salesmen (one of the partners) came to measure my windows to give me a quote. Then the installer came to re-measure (real measurement) prior to the order. So after waiting for 5 weeks, the 3 short windows arrived and to our disappointment, we had to wait another 4 weeks for reordered windows. To make matters worse, I also had to wait for the installers to get back my original windows which they had hauled away BEFORE CHECKING to see if the new windows fit. I figured mistakes happen, so I did not make a big deal of it although I was very disappointed and frustrated. So after patiently waiting for my windows it was installed over two months later. When I needed new windows in my rental, I decided to give them another chance to bid on additional work. Imagine my shock when that same partner had the audacity to say, I should be appreciative and KISS him for making good on the windows without complaint! Really??? I should appreciate him, versus his appreciating a long time customer who did not complain? He was not kidding. He sincerely believed I should appreciate them - all while openly admitting it was their mistake! His point was that most vendors would not make good on their mistakes. Also, he claimed he was a "good guy" because he didn't make the installer pay the $2500 the mistake costs him (as the problem was the installer's fault). The way he said this, it was clear he felt the customer should appreciate the extra cost he had to absorb because the mistake on the job cost him money! Furthermore, he NEVER thanked me for the having to endure the inconvenience of waiting 9+ weeks for my windows and for tolerating the ragged appearance of my exterior when they took the original windows out and then had to reinstall them after hauled it away. Incidentally, he never mentioned a discount nor even suggested that this time he would take better care of me and double check my order. Clearly, he is not customer oriented and a business partner who only views problems from the owner's perspective. He was not kidding with this attitude. Buyer Beware! I don't think this owner will change his attitude at all. If there is a problem, you need someone who stands behind their work and who values customers and repeat business. read more

We have bought windows and doors from this business (five points in Torrance) for years, and they have done an amazing job. However, the previous owner left and the new owner seemed like he was not interested in our business. We showed them plans and pictures of the type of arch windows we wanted. When they came, they were not what was expected and incorrect. We understood there were no refunds for special orders, so we wanted to buy windows all over again without refund. (Another $5,000 for them). When we were describing the type of windows we wanted, the old man with glasses had no ideas for us and was totally clueless. Then in mid sentence said to us, "we can't help you." Isn't this a window company? They belong in the 1950s; everything was outdated. They were completely unprofessional and RUDE! They had nothing to show us to help us! We ended up going to Home Depot & Anderson Windows and got exactly what we wanted for a great price. We will never deal with 5 points again! And I'll make sure all my longshoreman friends know that they are incompetent. read more

I recently ordered and had installed a Tuscany hinged French vinyl door in my dining room. They educated me as to what would be the proper door with regard to style, the type of wood required with regards to the proximity of sun/salt air damage, and the time needed for installation. They were prompt, reliable and installed everything without error. The crew cleaned up my entire dining room with no work left for me. I purchased 14 Milgard windows from 5 Points Sash & Doors in 2012 and called them again in 2016 to replace a garden window and 2 other windows. Originally, I called them because the previous owner had purchased 2 large sliding glass doors back in 2005 and they were still in great shape. Of the windows that I purchased in 2012, two recently showed some condensation between the dual panes (defective products). The windows had a lifetime warranty, so I called 5 Points to explain the problem. They located my file and they told me they would handle the paperwork with Milgard. They warned me that Milgard would take some time, though. I called back after a week and a half and got a service appointment with Milgard. Overall happy with 5 Points Sash & Doors for the install and customer service. read more

Our installer didn't securely nail things so the frame started separating over time. 5 points said out of warranty and pointed us to a handyman. Didn't appear to accept responsibility for the quality of the original work. Handyman did an excellent job but I'll go elsewhere next time for doors. read more

Had a front door installed by five point stain was inconsistent.They had to do a lot of touch up.Year later lock is defective and they wouldn't back up their product.They wanted to charge me to come by.and look at it.When they sold it to me they said it was lifetime warranty which they didn't honor.I will never recommend them to anybody. read more

We are SO thankful that we chose 5 points to replace all of our windows and closet doors. They were extremely professional, honest, trustworthy and the price that we paid was well under what some other companies had quoted us for products that were even lower quality than what 5 points installed for us. Also, they were extremely knowledgeable about dealing with our HOA and getting the permit from the city. They handled all of it, provided all the documents we needed and even coached us through everything we had to do to be compliant with the HOA and the city. The installation could not have gone any smoother - they did it in one day and the final product is perfect - they left no mess and we are left with high quality, beautiful windows which have made a dramatic difference in both the sound we hear from the outdoors and in regulating the temperature. We needed three wood doors installed in a building built in 1924 and located in Long Beach. Believe it or not, it was hard to find a door installer. I found 5 Points Sash & Doors here on Yelp and decided to give them a call. I liked the fact that they sell AND install doors and windows. Avi came out, looked at the job and was very knowledgeable in helping me decide what I needed. He wrote up the bid and submitted it in a day or two. I accepted the bid and he came back out for exact measurements. We ended up buying the three doors and three windows. It took 4 weeks to get the custom made windows, but Avi was always courteous with a call or email updating me with details of the order. Once the custom items were in, Avi called and scheduled installation within a few days. His installers arrived promptly. They worked diligently to get the doors installed which included building new door jambs into a brick structure. The installer, Alex did a great job of figuring out the best way to install everything. The only reason I didn't give them a five star rating is that I bought the door hardware (door closer) from them and they installed it as promised. When it didn't work right, Avi at first said the installation was as a courtesy and that I should have had a locksmith install it. After a small quibble, he agreed to send out his installer to fix it. He did say they stand by their work and Alex has been out one additional time to adjust one of the door closers. All in all, it was a great experience and the doors look one hundred percent better than what was previously there. read more

We've recently done some remodeling to our home and while we were buying a small exterior door from 5 POINTS SASH AND DOORS we asked Avi about an EMTEK front door handle/deadbolt system. He ordered it for us and we are extremely happy with it and their service. Our contractor provided the front door, (I don't know where he got it), but he never got back to paint it nor did he install the lock set. We just had the door painted on Monday and I called 5 Points to see if they could install the lock set. I spoke to Chris and explained my situation and he was extremely nice about it. When I asked him if they could install the handle and deadbolt he was honest to say, "I would love to send one of our guys out to your house, but, we are booked-up through Christmas." I asked if they could point me in the direction of someone, or, if they could recommend somebody. Without hesitation Chris told me to call "Leo" at FRANK'S LOCK AND KEY. I called Leo on Tuesday morning and explained what I needed and that Chris at 5 POINTS had given me his number. Just as Chris had said Leo came out that morning and did a fantastic job.
