The door on my custom glass shower enclosure had shifted, and was banging against the fixed glass panel. I showed up at Dandoy Glass without an appointment, and was quickly served by a very helpful and knowledgeable lady (I didn't get her name). We talked about options and the likely cost. I did not know the exact dimensions of the door, but guessed at a size that would require two men to lift, and thus cost more. I made an appointment for the same week. At home, I measured the door, and found it was noticeably smaller than I thought. I texted the correct measurements to Dandoy, and they said it would take only one man after all. Jose arrived as scheduled (a bit early, which was nice), and did excellent work. The results were better than I expected, and he even replaced a missing gasket on the bottom of the door to prevent water leaking under the door. The final cost was at the low end of the estimate I had received, and the price was more than fair. I can't imagine a better experience, and I highly recommend Dandoy Glass. read more

When I went in, the front office staff was very friendly, helpful, and informative. They educated me on the types of glass and which was best for my project. I'm being nice by giving three stars since let Yelp has this as a not a bad rating but not a great one either. I know business has been great during COVID and this attitude of being flush with work came thru in the attitude I received when politely inquiring about frameless glass shower doors. I felt like they were put out to answer my questions. When I inquired about the time to get measurements and installation I was told 2-3 weeks just to get someone out to measure (and I'm very local) and then another 2-3 weeks on top of that to fab and install. Obviously at this point I was just finishing up this exercise in futility so I shared my approximate needs and a week later they provided me with an estimate. The price wasn't horrible but it was among the higher ones I received. I honestly thought it would be higher. Their estimate was around $5k for what I got done for $3k at Isaac's glass less than a mile away. Daniel as Isaac's was super responsive and was out the next day. When I was ready for hard measurements he was out that evening and installing my glass which was 1/2 inch sapphire (not the cheaper green edge glass most people use) with upgrades hinges, handle and frameless design with enduroshield for under $1900 out the door. See pic attached. This is NOT a pic of Dandoy Glass. Isaac's is great and hungry for the business. Dandoy was not. Dandoy is good if you compare them to Century. DISCLAIMER! I walked into Dandoy glass looking for a glass shower enclosure. There were 3 ladies at desks in the showroom. All of them were too busy to greet me. I made eye contact with the lady at the desk closest to the counter however I still was not greeted. After several minute I finally said hello and asked if she would helped me. During our entire interaction she acted as if she was doing me a huge favor. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. I may be old-fashioned, but I still think that businesses should earn your business by providing good customer service. After that interaction, I decided to buy the enclosure and installation from Anchor Glass in San Pedro. Their customer service was exceptional and the shower enclosure turned out great. I feel really bad about only giving 1 start to this company. Honestly, I used them to install custom mirrors for my business a couple years ago and they were FANTASTIC. Mike did our estimate and managed our work in 2019 and he did AMAZING work. So for Mike and the installation team I would give 5 stars for sure. Unfortunately, we called back this year to get a quote/estimate for some additional work and my husband was faced with the most RUDE PERSON NAMED MARISSA. She is single-handedly the reason for my 1 star rating. For the past week we've been trying to get an estimate and have been faced with this completely unprofessional, snarky woman with a condescending tone. She has left us with a terrible impression of what we used to consider to be a professional and reputable business. How sad. If only we could speak to someone that treated all their customers-- especially loyal returning customers-- with common courtesy and respect. What a shame! Dandoy glass went out of their way to make sure our broken sliding glass window was replaced. We called midday on a Friday after a family accident, involving the broke window. Francine worked with us to make sure Jose and Miquel were able to come out and complete the replacement before the weekend. We are so grateful for the exceptional service Dandoy staff exhibited. as part of a larger project, Don't expect satisfaction from Dandoy Glass if the bathroom wall mirror you bought is smaller than ordered. You'll just get excuses. Before the pandemic, as part of a larger project, we ordered a new bathroom mirror to replace the old. Dandoy took measurements of the old mirror. As octogenarians, we held off the order for months until safer for health reasons. When we finally placed the order, the replacement mirror was slightly smaller in width than the original mirror, leaving unsightly gaps on both sides. Dandoy denied responsibility and said we'll either have to order and pay for a new mirror or pay to have the gap sanded and painted. The excuses: First, Dandoy said we should have ordered new measurements after the passage of time. We said that a further delay for a re-measure was not needed, as the mirror was a fixed object and had not shrunk. Second, Dandoy said the replacement mirror was only 1/16th inch off on each side and fell within their allowable tolerance. We said what counts to us is not some unstated allowable tolerance, but the unsightly gap left by the shortage. Before posting this Yelp review, I ran it by Dandoy in hopes they would reconsider. Here is a chronology of my Email interactions with Marissa Dandoy. MARISSA DANDOY to ME ( June 21, 2021): Thank you for the email; however you failed to mention the most important part. When you placed the order, the 60'' x 47'' mirror was not included. You called and said you wanted to add the second mirror to your order and I immediately told you that Mike had a note that the measurements for that mirror were approximate and that he needed to come back and confirm. You said you did not want him to come back and you would confirm the measurements yourself. You called me back and said you measured and you confirmed you wanted to order the mirror at the size of 60'' x 47''. I made it very clear over the phone that we should come back and confirm the sizes but you said no. I understand due to COVID and everything that was going on you didn't want someone in your home, but once you provided the sizes we were no longer responsible. MY RESPONSE: Your assertion -- "When you placed the order, the 60" x 47" mirror was not included" -- was a flat out lie. In fact, the Dandoy "PROPOSAL" dated 2-14-2020 states "Furnish and Install a ¼" mirror over the vanity, including: 1 - 60" X 47" With a 1" bevel on all sides." The rest of your commentary is irrelevant and exposes your intent to muddy the waters and evade responsibility. MS. DANDOY'S RESPONSE: You are incorrect. Yes, the mirror was on the "proposal" but when you placed the order originally on 3/11/2020, you only ordered the first mirror (48'' x 41 1/8'') and the closet doors. You then added the second mirror (60'' x 47'') on 5/10/2021. The closet door and first mirror were ready for over a YEAR before you added the second mirror. As I previously stated, my proposal listed the size however Mike's notes said it was an appropriate size and I told you that many times. You did not want us to come back and measure. Do you remember our phone conversation when I told you that the mirror was an approximate size and we needed to remeasure? You understood but due to COVID you wanted to measure yourself. MY RESPONSE: Again, more lies. The original 2020 PROPOSAL did in fact include the 60" X 47" mirror, contrary to you assertion. At no point did we provide our own measurement, as you claimed. How could you in good conscience say that your own company's first-hand measurement of a fixed object is only "approximate" and must be re-verified. That speaks to a level of incompetence and a lack of confidence. For the record, you have never spoken with me. You spoke with my wife, and she had no reason to presume that your original measurements were inaccurate, warranting further delay. In fact, they were accurate, -- 60" X 47" -- but you delivered something slightly smaller and then insisted smaller is OK (within your allowable tolerance). MS DANDOY'S RESPONSE: You are correct I spoke with your wife. And she did have a reason to presume the original measurement was approximate because I told her many times. MY RESPONSE: We are going in circles. If 2+2 = 4, it does not matter how many times you want to re-add 2+2, it will still equal 4. It is not "approximately" 4. The company installed some nice glass shower doors and after about a year and a half, a couple wheels holding the doors on the tracks fell off and the company came to repair it as well as tighten/glue a bracket. Another year or so goes by and the same issue occurred but this time the company wanted $175 to take the bottom door guide off the track, remove the doors, tighten some screws/glue a bracket and re-attach the bottom door guide. When they came the first time the repair guy did the job in about 15 minutes. This time, the company claimed they had no record of repairing it before and to fix it now they needed to take the doors back to their shop to glue the bracket and keep the doors for a few days and that the time/labor required was the reason for the high price. Yeah nice try. I'll fix it myself for $10 in adhesive from the hardware store. Either way, wheels shouldn't be falling off $1,000 shower doors twice after just a few years and the company should stand behind their work and fix faulty products, within reason of course. read more

I remodeled my bathroom, and if you know me, I change my mind every 5 minutes - even when the work is done. First, i had my shower door installed and I love it. Francine helped me with the order and she was so nice to walk me through the process. I then ordered a frame less mirror for the same bathroom. I signed off the proposal with the right measurements and when they installed the mirror....... I hated it. I took the chance to call Francine if we can cut the mirror to make it fit better. Crossing my fingers, Francine said YES. Now, she could have said "Too bad, you signed off on the measurements." but she didn't. She said the guy will be there in 10 minutes, and sure enough, my mirror was taken down, cut, polished, and reinstalled in an hour. Francine - you rock!! Thank you so much for your help!! We're so happy with our frameless shower glass enclosure! We needed it for our newly remodeled guest bathroom before our big annual Easter Party and Marissa made it happen! The installers, Oscar and Gustavo, were very friendly and respectful. They came in, did a great job, and left their work area clean. Zero stars. Do not give them your business. There are tons of other mirror companies who want your business and want you to be happy and satisfied. I had a similar experience as a couple of other reviewers. Mike and team are very nice. But the owner, Doug, is extremely rude and unprofessional. I had a 24 inch scratch on my mirror. They buffed it out. When I went to pick up, I wanted to look it over with their staff before I took it home. I found another scratch. The owner, Doug, came over and made very rude and obnoxious comments, like "it's not a Rolex" and "take it or leave it." I never said 1 word to him. But I recorded our conversation and his almost drunken rant. While I was working with 2 of his employees, he stepped right in front of them, wrapped up my mirror, and carried it to my car without saying anything - basically, he wanted me and my already paid for scratched mirror off his property. I still said not a word to him and just watched his aggressive demeanor. He also, bragged about how he's been in business for 60 years. Obviously the business was handed to him. read more

LOVE them. Ok, I've dealt with these guys on two separate occasions now and they are top notch! Let me just start by saying that when it comes to any form of "handy work" I am a daft dimbo. I am NOT exaggerating here people; I don't even know how to use a measuring tape. But Dandoy Glass, much like the Honey Badger, "don't give a shit!!!" they helped me out anyway. So I work in a business down the way from Dandoy, and we had a glass emergency. Some little punk thought it would be a hoot to shoot out our front glass door with a be-be gun. What a treat. So I come to work, and the door is as halved as Dewey Cox's little brother when Dewey chopped him in half with that machete in the barn. I searched frantically for someone that could replace the glass door pronto. I called Dandoy after finding them on yelp. Now, I wasn't kidding about not knowing how to use the tape measure. But the girl very calmly and patiently sat on the phone with me while I tried to figure out the measurements for the replacement glass. They had a guy out there within the hour!!! The strapping gentleman came out, took a look at the door, and very politely informed me that I had, in fact, gotten the measurements wrong. Surprise surprise. ::::face palm:::: but, again they made the Honey Badger proud, but not giving a shit. The guy was super nice about it, and told me he'd just shoot back to the shop, and grab the right size. He came back, slapped that bad boy in there and was out. And it only cost us $200! My second magical encounter with these wonderful human beings was today when I came in after work with two antique frames that I wanted to make into mirrors. I walked in feeling a bit silly, since it was so grand and professional in there with their gargantuan glass displays, and here I was, with my two little 4x6 frames wanting mirrors. They, again, were super nice AND super fast! The guy took one glance at my frames, and said "10 bucks" TEN BUCKS?! I believe that is what our good friend Charlie Sheen meant when he said "WINNING" :::fist pump::: It was done in literally 5 minutes, and I was on my merry way. They looked great. I'd like to give them a higher rating because Mike and his worker seem like nice guys. However, every time I walk in my bathroom I see mirror doors that aren't quite the right size, a spot of desilvering, mirrors not squared and pieces of black elastic hanging from one of the mirrors. They had to make several trips because of inaccurate measuring, and it still isn't right. The worst part is, I had to point out the problems to them. They must have been hopeful that I would never notice it. Please, go somewhere else. 60 years in business means that the original owner and workers are no longer there.
