Our shower glass installation with Precision Glasswork unfortunately didn't go as smoothly as we'd have liked. Their installation took four visits (!) including the initial visit to measure. All throughout, the on-hand crew and Rose over the phone were friendly. But they chipped a piece of our new porcelain tile, which happens but is still unfortunate. And there were noticeable imperfections in the corner of one large piece of glass. That isn't their fault but they initially suggested it may be the glazing before the part was reordered, forcing another visit. Finally, I was assured more than once we would not need a support bar, even after I was upsold on higher glass, a change I'm glad we made from a suggestion the crew made. For structural integrity, it was eventually determined we'd need one (they paid for this hardware, which I appreciate). Sigh. The quality of the work appears to be just fine; I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts a long time. Also, the crew was always friendly, but with the issues we had and the number of visits it took, I can't recommend them. read more

We hired Precision Glasswork to install a shower door on an existing glass shower enclosure which had no door. Rose handled the estimate process and was responsive and friendly. The install ended up being much more complicated than expected because the existing glass was not plumb and had to be moved. Despite this, the crew was extremely professional and handled the tricky job without complaint. The result looks amazing and price was reasonable and fair. Only reviewing their "pre-work" as I haven't been able to get them to actually do the work. Called. Spoke with chad. Told me to email measurements and pictures. Had several emails back and forth. Then nothing got several days. Followed up. Got an apology and "we're busy." Was connected with three other people on the email and a proposal. I approved and sent back. Heard nothing. Couple days later emailed all 4 people again. Called two days later. Emailed again as my last effort. I understand they are busy but I would think at least one of four could email me back and say we don't need/want your business so I could stop wasting my time. I'vreally wanted to like them, but accidentally or purposely, it just ended up being rude. Last thing I need is to give a deposit and then have them disappear again, so I've moved on. -- Update: I received multiple emails after posting this review apologizing. They were sincere and asked for a do-over, explaining they had been crazy busy and had an issue with their emails. So I decided to go for it. Communication still could have been better (i.e. I was asked if a day worked and after saying yes, was told I'd get a call the day before with a time. I never did but did get a call at 7:30 the next morning saying the guys were on their way. Glad i was awake/home!), but the workmen were very nice and professional and the job seems to have been done well. So hopefully the above issue is a one time thing and the good workers/good repair is the norm! read more

After explaining my needs, my follow-up emails requesting an onsite went unresponded; although heralded Chad was unprofessional so I moved on. 2 months later an underling named Perry emails me with some excuses, trying to ask for my business. I just purchased my first home and it has been a learning experience since day one. I quickly discovered how difficult it is to shower in an unenclosed stall without getting water everywhere. Needless to say, I needed shower doors right away. I called around to get a few quotes and one of them happened to be Chad at Precision Glasswork. I probably had a hundred questions and Chad gladly answered all of them. He helped me choose a style (1/2" frameless glass) and sent me pictures as to what it would look like. He also guaranteed his work and told me that he would come back to adjust the shower doors if they ever needed it. Now keep in mind all the other contractors have a good track records and come recommended, but I chose Precision Glasswork because of the confidence they invoked and the time they took to make me feel 100% comfortable; so comfortable, in fact, that I left Chad my house keys so I didn't have to take a day off from work. Three days later I had glass doors installed in my home, beautifully done. The only hiccup was that the clips were the wrong color. My fear was that I would have to put up with it for as long as I planned to stay in the house. I brought it up with Chad and he came back, took down the doors, changed out the clips, and reinstalled everything all at no charge. Now that's service. Chad and his crew inspected and sealed the skylights in my home. They were responsive and prompt throughout the entire process and got the work done on time and at the projected cost. They also alerted me to some debris that was falling on my roof and in my gutters from construction next door, which I really appreciated. I am very impressed with these people. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING! and their work is great, too! They repaired a broken sliding mechanism on a double hung window that had been nailed shut to keep it from sliding open (broken mechanism!). They came out to assess the job and were back in two days with the right replacement part and fixed the window, nail removal & all, with no damage and even cleaned up after themselves! I can't say enough good things about Chad and his crew. I received estimates from three contractors and, even though Precision had the most experience with the kind of work we needed for our very minimalist modern home, the best website, and seemed the most professional in our initial meeting, his price was also significantly lower than the other companies. (Like, crazy lower. I still can't believe it.) He was flexible and worked around our sometimes (often) crazy schedule with multiple other trades. He was creative in helping us achieve the clean look we wanted, drawing both on his own experience and researching when needed, and his installers are top-notch. The floors, walls, ceilings, and whatever else in your house might not be perfectly plumb and level, but you can be sure the glass he installs will be. We dealt with dozens of contractors in the course of a major renovation, and Chad is at the top of a short list of *maybe* 2 or 3 I'd use again and recommend to friends. Our experience with Chad and his installation team was great, but not without a few glitches as is typical with most home improvement projects. Chad was attentive and responsive throughout the project, which required more than one attempt to install a large "wall" of 1/2 inch stationery glass along with a large swinging frameless glass door.
