Automotive is a specialty area that you don't want screwed up. I have used him a few times I had a worn Toyota key that would not open my doors but would start my car. Broke my 08 civic key a little while ago and replaced the case with a made in China one I got online. Didn't last very long, probably around 6 months, so I ordered another to get cut so I came here. Ryan helped me out and got my key cut, which worked, but when I went to start my car in the ignition, I couldn't because the chip wasn't close enough to the key. My car was having issues on multiple occasions with the key turning in the ignition (and my wheel was not locked). After calling several locksmiths, who all thought I was ignorant and did not know how to unlock a locked wheel, and one who told me just to spray WD-40 into the ignition, Ryan came out to assess the issue. The first time, he cut me new keys, as the ones I'd had were worn down. He told me to call again if the ignition had any further issues. The price was reasonable and cheaper than if I had gone to the dealer. Everything was working fine for a few months until one day, the issue resurfaced and the key would not turn in the ignition. I was located in an area that took awhile to get to, especially with the amount of traffic at 6pm. When I called Ryan, he was eating dinner. However, he remembered me when I described the situation and came in an hour. Prior to calling Ryan, I had also called AAA, who stated their locksmith would come within 60-90 minutes. There would also be a starting fee of $60 for the AAA locksmith to come and assess the issue, and then go up from there depending on the work they did. I am so glad I did not go the AAA route. Ryan came and had my car up and running in about 30 minutes. He diagnosed the issue and replaced the springs in the ignition. The car started smoothly. When I asked how much the work cost, Ryan told me not to worry about it. Thank you Ryan for your kindness and excellent customer service. Locked out of my house today on Christmas Eve would of been a nightmare without Hamilton's! Within 20 mins. as promised on the phone, Ryan the locksmith arrived in a nicely organized truck and was at my door with tools opening it within minutes. I wish my truck was this orderly. The issue was that the top deadbolt had one key we used and the lower lock we lost the key so never used it but it somehow locked itself today! In any case, after opening it quickly, Ryan offered to key the lower lock to match the upper deadbolt and I quickly agreed. You know sometimes we can do these things ourselves and save a few bucks but sometimes having it done for you is the best way to go! It is a relief to have this done and done properly and in record time. Since I own my own business I understand the cost of providing a home service and for a job like this with a rush request and the new key/lock I expected to pay more. Good experience.
