From the moment we walked in Larry was ready to treat us like family. The made from SCRATCH FOOD is absolutely delicious. The Western burger was juicy and seasoned well. We use to eat here regularly years ago then got busy with life and pretty much forgot about it. We recently went there and it's still very good, the service is great and friendly. The only thing I would recommend is an update in the flooring, etc.. it has a smell of old cooking oil . It is dark inside and I feel it would be nice if they could do something to brighten it up. Stopped in at this little restaurant/saloon. Definitely has that small town, country feel. It was not at all crowded and we were attended to quickly. Food was very good. Ordered the potato skins and burger. Definitely fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try. It's a little over a mile off the freeway, and wouldn't be a bad spot to stop in at and let traffic die down if you're heading NB on Sr-14 during the weekday commute. read more

If you love oysters, never try their oysters because its a "bulls balls" not from the sea; And make sure that your server read your order back, or its all your fault. Never been to a restaurant that an "owner" go to your table, (1) school you about oysters, that its not from the sea. I found out that its a delicacy and its "bulls balls" which our server didn't really emphasize it. If I would have known it from the start, I will never order it. She made us pay "half" of it; (2) questions about your steak choices. When we got our order, I got the wrong steak. I immediately told our server that I ordered ribeye not sirloin, she said she will talk to their chef; Owner came back again, she said that I made a mistake ordering, that their server read back to you your order, which this case didn't. I know my steak, I know what I like that why I return it. I got my steak and it has no flavor, no seasoning. You would think that a $30 steak would at least have some salt or pepper but nada! So, I ended up taking it home. I know, at least, my dogs will enjoy it. We are not there for free meal. In fact, we are more than happy to spend money for a nice meal but turns out to be a very disappointing experience. Needless to say that we'll never be back. read more

Not friendly to the locals and the owners don't care about the locals they cater to those who pass through or their biker gang friends that come in. Food is overrated and over priced and my wife had raw chicken strips there that smelt like a dying rat in a shed. This place used to be an absolutely incredible place to go to, great locals decent food excellent bar service with strong drinks and karaoke and now it's one of the worst places in Acton to go to. The only reason they are surviving is from the COVID government loans they took advantage of. Hopefully one day it will become the place it used to be but not under the current ownership. read more

OUTSTANDING (Yes I'm yelling!) We ate dinner here twice. Chef really gets it insuring flavors are infused in his soups and sauces that compliment (not over power) the entree. We also dined at LA Chene one night and had over priced, overcooked, and highly sauced duck. While we were there we decided to go back to 49ers the next night. We have lived within 10 miles of the 49er for the past three years but have never tried it until today. Had the best meal here we've had in the local area ever! Awesome steak and meatloaf entrees topped off with the apple crisp and ice cream. Sat outside and enjoyed the quiet ambiance. Incredible find, in little old Acton. Shelby our server is incredible very sweet and attentive, knows the menu!! Big plus for me! The owner is a gem as well. Very unique twists on classics. The cheese sticks in particular were amazing. I highly recommend the hot bbq ranch dipping sauce. Also don't forget the chicken tenders, hand breaded and juicy and tender! Cadillac margarita was on point! Allegiance IPA delicious. If your headed to or from LA from the A.V. Or in the area for any reason it is definitly worth the extra mile off the 14 freeway. Came here to listen to The Sweewater Gentleman blue grass band. Music was great and so were the chicken tenders I ordered. Nice and juicy chicken with honey mustard and chipotle aioli to dip in, the combination of flavors was delicious. Main room was packed but found a spot by the bar. Great night! read more

We recently moved up to Acton from Saugus. In the dozen or so years that we lived in SCV, we never really found a bar/restaurant where we felt at home. After visiting the 49'er Saloon just a couple of times, we felt completely at home. Larry and Cecilia and the rest of the staff really go out of their way to make their patrons feel welcome and serve up the best food and drinks in Acton. So happy to have found this place and will remain a loyal customer for many years to come. read more

I have been here a few times. To be honest, we went during Covid and had a horrible experience. We were sitting at our table outside and said we had to wear a dumb mask while sitting at the table. I said, how am I supposed to drink our drinks, the owner said take a sip put your mask on and so on. I thought that was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and left and never wanted to come back. But.... since I live in this town and I like to support our local business's, we decided since things are for the most part back to normal, I wanted to give it another shot. I am glad we did; the food is amazing, and the service was great with them being shorthanded. My only complaint is the cocktails have very little alcohol, so next time we go we will just have a beer. read more

Hear ye, hear ye, It's been years since I've eaten at the 49er in Acton. Apparently, it's been bought and sold a few times since then, and out of the blue decided to give it a try. I'd rather support ma&pa's businesses than corporate restaurants any day. Plenty of choices, including healthy dishes. A nice outdoor patio surrounded by our local mountains. The owners boast of their scratch kitchen and rightfully so. They make a scratch hot whiskey BBQ sauce and their own salad dressings. Inside dining may need updating, but I think it all adds to the ambience of the old 49er. The amount of food served is enough for two, which I always like. Sandwiches served on Brioche bread, yummy. This is a relaxing and comfortable place to have a drink. The atmosphere is a lot better and cleaner compared to the place before. My wife have severe food allergies, Gluten, Dairy and Whey. She had the chili (yes, it's Gluten Free) and French fries. She didn't get sick. They have a designated fryer just for French fries, nothing else goes into that fryer (no cross contamination). I had the chicken wings. It's fresh, tender and juicy. Not pre-cook frozen wings. We are very limited at places to go eat because of her food allergies. This place will become a regular for us. Can't wait to try their burgers and steaks next. The staff are awesome people, friendly, patient, attentive to our allergies. The menu have a good amount for vegetarians. We just adore the owners - Larry and Cecilia and have had great experiences with the other staff and the food and service- no question!! We wanted to find a restaurant with outdoor seating that was about half way between our families. When I called to make sure they could accommodate all 8 of us the owner answered the phone. She was so nice and assured me that they could take care of us. I made up my mind right then that this was going to be our meeting place. We tried almost half the menu and everything was delicious. Their sauces are all home made and it shows. We could barely move as we ate everything but we had to try their made in house deserts. The apple crisp and bread pudding were to die for and the root beer floats were also a hit. Everyone were so helpful and nice and with quality food we all decided that we found the perfect place to meet for a delicious meal. We are looking forward to our next visit. read more

We are residents of Acton and for some reason have just never eaten here before. We don't eat out a lot but this place might just be our first choice from now on! My husband ordered the Bison Burger and I ordered the Steak Salad.. amazing! Let me tell you.. the whiskey bbq ranch dressing is the best thing ever! Our server was very sweet, she seemed either new or new to the iPad ordering tablet she was using. But for the most part the service was good.
