A nice little breakfast & brunch place. The food was as expected. They also have a glass case filled with muffins, & other baked goods.

Tasty breakfast selections with crispy bacon, crispy crunchy hash browns, and the exact level of spice needed for the entrees and the chai latte! Aidan, our waitress, handled our ten top with grace and dexterity! The bustling staff wasn't too busy to greet us with smiles and welcome us. Loved the sturdy but lightweight metal chairs!

Great coffee amazing breakfast. Drove 45 minutes to try it out was not disappointed. Wait staff was so nice and attentive. Asked for their recommendation, they recommended the skillet and was blown away. Best breakfast I've ever had hands down.

Decent sandwiches and breakfast. Not much by way of plating, even by diner standards. Perks: fresh baked goods and local ingredients like morel mushrooms (try the morel melt sandwich). Iced coffees were very very good, and costly, but worth it. They use locally made syrups to flavor them. Location is good, parking is plentiful at the end of the street.

Our server Noel was amazing and made the best recommendations. We loved the Albariño and Northerner (a cab-Syrah blend) - both rare finds in Northern MI. Food was delicious and they were accommodating of my gluten allergy (make sure to ask the server about options as there were way more than the menu said). Can't wait to be back.

They have a good sized uncovered outdoor patio, and more limited seating inside. The interior seating has a homey feel, the decor is simple Northern, Lake Michigan. The menu is short, but a good variety of options, I'm not sure how often it changes, as the entrees during our visit were a bit more substantial, suited for cooler weather. We had Ceasar salads, Mac and cheese, burrata, and Chicken Marsala. I also had their soup of the day, a beef chili, my favorite item we had. We thoughts the Ceasar was a standard good. The Mac and Cheese was a bit boring and dry. The Burrata was great, nice fresh tomato's. We also enjoyed the chicken. I had a flight of three of their wines, nicely presented. I thought both of the whites, first fruits, and the Gruner Veltliner, were very good. Gilchrist is relatively newer to the area wineries and a nice addition.

Consistently so delicious and creative. I also like that they let us share (and gave two plates for us both). It was busy and they gave us a seat on the back porch after 20 min or so without previous reservations. We couldn't reach them by phone; so just went in person. Their soups are my favorite thing. I'd bathe in it. This time was celery root and 5 years ago was parsnip. They have the same base of garlic, onion, cream puréed and just know how to do it. Excellent service each time too! My husband loved the SALAD (which he had never said in his life before) as well as the wagyu steak dish and Butterscotch mousse w/ short bread cookie that was best we have ever had (the chefs step dads recipe). After that they gave an extra little snacky of peanut brittle and pop rock orange like candy. The kimchi fritters were my other favorite dish of the night. Very happy cool place.

We ordered a Brie and raclette plate with housemade crackers and a spicy ginger jam ($20), and two NY strip steaks with potatoes and greens ($48 per). We're not pretentious diners and we're no strangers to small portions with high price points, but our two narrow thumbs of steak served with three small half potatoes and a tablespoon or two of greens felt severely under-portioned for $48 per person. While we enjoyed the steak, the potatoes, greens, and appetizer were lackluster, which exacerbated our feeling robbed. Recapping our experience outside the restaurant, we found it curious that the portion sizes weren't indicated on the menu descriptions (it likely would've deterred us). But more interestingly, our waitress neither reviewed the menu and offered recommendations for how many plates to order, nor asked if we were enjoying our meal. For $150 (we tipped 20%), restaurant-goers have several other options available to them for mouth-watering, inventive foods with adequate portions. I can't recommend Wren.

This is a great lunch, salad, and or soup spot. It's counter service with self serve drinks. They do deliver the food to your table. We came on Thursday around 12:20 PM and it wasn't too busy. There is a great selection of sandwiches, including a vegan option. They also have an assortment of gluten-free products. We had the Horsin' Around roast beef sandwich, which came with Great Lakes potato chips, the Hummust Have wrap, which also came with chips. We ordered a bowl of the cream of mushroom soup, a cup of the tomato, basil soup, a coffee and soda. All were delicious. The hummus sandwich was more like a Greek salad in a wrap minus the cheese. I would've liked more hummus but then that would make a messy sandwich. The roast beef sandwich had a great flavor. The cream of mushroom soup was full of mushrooms and just needed a little salt for our liking. The tomato basil soup was good, but it tasted more like tomato sauce, heavy on the oregano for me. But again that's personal opinion. Customer service was excellent, the dining room and bathroom were both very clean. Lunch was a bit expensive at $40ish before tax and tip. We will be back. Make sure you stop in for breakfast or lunch when you're in the area!

The great - the atmosphere was great and the booth we sat on surprisingly comfy. Two had the chicken tender basket 4/5 for one and 5/5 for the other. The perch basket ranked high as well. One had the meatloaf 'sandwich' which arrived more like an open faced hot sandwich. It looked great and got a good review from the friend who had it. The chili was flat out outstanding! Flavorful and just the right amount of spice. Our great server had me taste it right away to make sure the temperature was hot enough. There was a nice variety of draft beer as well. The disappointing - the Bloody Mary. It was a visual masterpiece as you can tell by the attached pictures. The good - both sliders and the fries pickles. The rim was salted with what I describe as fresh everything bagel seasoning and it was really flavorful. The not so good- The onion rings needed more time in the frier as the breading was not very crispy. The bad - the Bloody Mary. Lots of vodka and spice but there wasn't much tomato flavor. I have to say I've never left a Bloody Mary unconsumed until today but I maybe had three sips and it was just bad. Hind site I perhaps should have asked for more tomato juice to add to the drink. As it was I enjoyed the company of friends, great atmosphere and my sliders. We would return again.
