I called 3 West Environmental as I needed mold, asbestos and lead testing. I wanted to make sure that I was going to have a fully certified technician perform the testing.  First impression, the phone conversation. I spoke with Timothy who was extremely personable, transparent, and very patient. I know that I can be annoying by asking too many questions as I am distrusting when it comes to spending money on things like this. As a person with no knowledge of this industry, I am wary of being taken advantage of.  I did quite a bit of research on certifications needed for this kind of work, but Timothy really spent the time explaining everything to me. He went over how certifications are acquired, directed me on how to verify certifications through the certifying organisations, how he started in the industry,  and he explained exactly what would happen during his visit, sample testing,  report and possible cost. We were on the phone for quite an extended period of time. The visit on 02 June, 2022. Timothy was to meet me at the address at an agreed time. He was only slightly late, but he continually updated me on their estimated arrival time. Again, he was very personable, and my 85 year old mother and I were quite at ease with him. Timothy knew that we were on a very tight budget, and I was really stressed about the cost. Not once did I feel any pressure from him during the visit. In fact, he made suggestions to keep the cost down; such as,  since the walls, flooring and ceiling were consistent throughout he would take one sample of each in different areas, rather than several in each individual room and we would assume that if those came out positive that the other areas would be positive too (this was for asbestos and lead). As for the mold, he said that as it was obviously visible in large areas (it was really obvious), and that testing would probably not change how remediation would be done, so he didn't charge me for the mold visit or any testing. He said that this way I could save money for the post-remediation clearance. He explained that it was my choice if I wanted him to do limited testing, but in no way did he push me to do more. He was also sympathetic to our situation and gave us a slight discount. He was SO honest and forthcoming with everything.  Timothy told me that the report would be ready within 3 working days. Exactly three days later, I received a detailed report via email AND he called me to go over everything with me. I am also awaiting the report and the receipt via post to appease my mother who is not computer savvy and believes that anything legitimate comes by post. So, my experience with 3 West Environmental has been a very positive one. I cannot express how impressed I was with Timothy and his assistant Hayden. I am definitely going to use them again and will refer them to everyone I know. As this is a long post, I will copy and paste it to other review websites as well. read more
