John came out same day to help replace a smoke alarm that was high up in a vaulted ceiling, which I couldn't reach with the ladder I have. He also replaced two others for me. I texted him, sent him a photo of where the alarm was, he arrived right on time, and fixed it in a very efficient amount of time at a fair price. Highly recommend. read more

I've used John twice and both times he's been responsive, reliable and very professional. We ran into installation challenges with my Ring doorbell because I ordered the wrong item, but John was determined to help me resolve the issue. I couldn't be happier with his services/skills/attitude and professionalism. I highly recommend John and I will absolutely use him again. read more

I have used John for numerous jobs over the last few months at my house and I have not been disappointed. He takes more pride in his work than my contractor. He helped me do a cedar shiplap wall over two days and even stayed till 7pm each day to finish. He is nice, thoughtful with calling and texting, and does research on job ideas I had of the best way to finish. Thanks John for all the awesome work! Cary and Natalie read more

I had gotten an estimate to do two repairs for a rental house in San Clemente. The estimate was two times as much as what John charged me to make three repairs. John was professional, punctual and precise in communicating what the jobs could require and cost, and when I could expect the work to be done. He was considerate of my tenant, they were very pleased. I was really amazed when the final charge was less than the estimate because "it took less time". It is so nice to find someone so honest and fair. read more

I needed John's help to do some work with a rental property of mine. He doesn't come out to inspect the work first without you booking time with him. He did answer my call and looked over some pictures I sent him. Then he gave me a time frame he needed to repair the problem. Great guy, will continue to work with him. Payment is easily done online. read more

I worked with John for 4 years to care for a rental property I managed (but recently sold) in San Clemente. I cannot speak highly enough about his professionalism, abilities, honesty, and integrity. I don't know how I would have been able to care for the property I managed without his assistance and would recommend him to anyone looking for a handyman who is reliable, capable and affordable, not to mention a really nice guy. Hire him! You won't regret it. read more

John is the best! He had done a few projects for me. If he's able to do the job, he'll do it, timely, professionally and at a fair price.

John is a refreshing surprise, dependable, trustworthy, quality workmanship and provides value for the cost. We met John after reading his Yelp comments and called for appointment. The best review is we have gone back to John multiple times when need arises. This last time was to install ceiling fans in two bedrooms. If you need a handyman, John is your guy. Al P read more

I recently called John at SC handyman to patch a hole in my kitchen. he came and actually found that the whole was a result to poor craftsmanship in installing my cabinets. He was very honest and trusting since he could have repaired it and taken my money but he helped me take care of the problem right away before it became a problem from hell. I would definitely recommend John to anyone that needs any help. He ended up fixing another whole in my drywall excellent job and I have hired him to come back and fix my sprinklers. Thanks John! read more

Very good customer service and workmanship, also very prompt and efficient. I was adding jobs left and right as I had two bathrooms being remodeled at once and needed additional repairs to be done, John was a huge help in getting all of my tasks completed. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Not too happy about my experience for 15 minutes of prying a spoon from the garbage disposal it cost $90.00!!!! I would have been better off calling the plumber I use! read more

I was very appreciative that John found the time to fit me into his schedule on 24 hours notice. He did excellent work and was professional. His price is reasonable too. I will definitely use his services again! read more

John is highly skilled, reliable, honest and a pleasure to work with. He did extensive work for us at a our rental house which included, painting, installing closet doors and electrical work. He was easy to communicate with and was prompt in setting up and appointment. His prices where fair and he sends clear invoices so you know what your costs will be. We highly recommend him and will definitely be calling on him in the future. read more

Horrible customer service from the moment he picked up the phone. Would not even come look at work needed to be done (in the same town he's based in btw) to make a quote. Just kept repeating "this is the way I work" citing his steep per hour dollar amount. Very rigid and inflexible. Don't bother with this guy. read more

John is an honest man and a hard worker. He installed a ceiling fan and a kitchen faucet for us. The latter turned out to be a bigger job than anticipated due to the previous work of an amateur plumber. John spent the required extra time on the job but did not increase his original price. We plan on using his skills again in the near future and would recommend him to others. read more

John was awesome! Scheduling an appointment on line was quick and easy. I got a text and email to confirm the appointment. I was a little concerned that I had an electrical issue and I wasn't sure that a "handyman" could figure this problem out. Luckily, John identified the problem and had it fixed quickly. So great to have someone I can call on who knows what they are doing and is a nice person besides! read more

John is an awesome guy. Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Got the job done perfectly and in a timely manner for the price quoted. Exactly what I needed and I got it. Thanks John! read more

May be it was a bad day for him. Had to have someone else out to repair his work. We called him about the problem and he said, nope that's how I do it. Ok, so my sink still leaked...guess I shouldn't have mentioned it. read more

It is refreshing to get a quick response from a contractor. John provided a cost and time estimate on the work I had requested along with a list of available dates. He was quick and efficient and even took care of an item that was not on the original estimate. I didn't think this kind of customer service still existed. John is my handyman now and I will recommend him to others. read more

Had a kitchen sink problem crop up out of nowhere, and scheduled John on a recommendation from a friend, after my regular handyman was booked solid for several weeks out. We can't be happier at John's professionalism, responsiveness, fairness, and the quality of his work. Even more impressive than that, he has an accurate and reliable online scheduling tool so that a lot of the "when are you available" backing and forthing is saved, and you can actually see (and pick) the exact day and time he can get to you. He communicates quickly and clearly, and updated me along the way as I was out of town and he was working at my tenant-occupied condo. After the work is done, he can send you a nice, clear invoice via e-mail, and online payment is super-easy and convenient. John is awesome and we can't recommend San Clemente Handyman enough, 5+ stars! read more

I'm an interior designer in the Los Angeles area, but through a referral, signed on to design a nursery in Laguna Hills. The handyman I usually work with already travels an hour south to work with me in LA, so I wasn't able to convince him to drive the extra 1.5-2 hours to south Orange County. I'm always nervous to work with a new subcontractor, but John was GREAT!! I had him install chair rails around the perimeter of the room, paint the lower half the walls, as well as hang art and one floating shelf. He measured carefully, kept a clean work space and even vacuumed after he was done! Everything turned out perfectly! And perhaps most important, John was just a plain-old pleasure to spend a day with :). He was polite, punctual and friendly. Oh, and his online scheduling system should be used by EVERY contractor-- it's genius! He will certainly be my first phone call for any future projects in Orange County! read more
