mess is honestly the quintessential texas a&m brunch spot. here's a quick breakdown of my favorite…read moremenu items: chicken & waffles: - whether you get the chicken spicy or not, they come crispy, juicy, and pair excellently with the fluffy and hearty waffles. - i've tried each of the options for sauces / syrup replacements and my personal favorite is the aioli, it adds a nice tang to each bite similar to a sweet honey mustard (and if that sounds weird with waffles, just give it a shot, it cuts through the juice of the chicken and the fluff of the waffle and really ties each bite together nicely) iced coffee: - for the price, it did not taste bad at all but it was just too expensive for the portion size, in my opinion. although, i realize the price is more or less in line with other brunch spots in the area. buffalo mac & cheese: - everytime i bring my younger brother here, this is what we go for. it's a perfectly cheesy, tangy, and gently spicy mac and cheese with chicken in it. we absolutely love the choice of macaroni noodle as well as consistency of the cheese. generally, mac and cheese can mesh together as repetitive bite to bite when there isn't enough variation from bite to bite, but with the chicken, pockets of buffalo sauce, and pockets without, each bite feels fresh and definitely registers this mac as one of my favorites anywhere. note about ambiance, service, & seating: - service is consistently solid, friendly staff! - seating can get PACKED during typical brunch hours, outdoor seating is available if the weather permits but get there early if you want a good shot at getting a seat, or just wait for one to open up:) overall solid 5/5 brunch spot and my favorite that i've been to in texas tied with the breakfast klub in houston!

My GF waffle tasted like cardboard which was bad enough, and now a couple of hours later I am feeling so so sick. I think I definitely got glutened. Or there was something wrong with it. Maybe they didn't give me a GF one this time by mistake?? In terrible pain!!

I reiterated I joined the waitlist online list 35 minutes ago and it said 45-50 minutes at that time. He says the time doesn't start until we get here! I asked him why is there an online waitlist at all, It literally says on the chalkboard "no one likes to wait- download FirstWatch app". I double checked with another guy he said yes another 40 minutes or so! We only have a party of 4 not like we're a big party or anything.

The only complaint you will hear from me is simply that it was freezing in there. It's January and we had just had the big ice freeze, but with that being said they couldn't keep it warm and we wound up leaving our jackets on and asking for hot water just so we could warm our hands. I had an apple mimosa and a lavender latte. Both were amazing. I love that I can come in and order alcohol in the morning with my breakfast. I also ordered the spuds deluxe. I got my hash browns crispy and my eggs over hard. I also got them with ham and fresh jalapeños. They were everything I wanted. Our server was very professional and checked on us several times throughout the meal refilling our coffee and water. Despite the freezing weather we will be back. Definitely give it a try if you are wanting a nice breakfast with lots of options. Next time I'm gonna try the habanero pork belly fried rice. Our friend got it and it smelled so good! Chicken was a little bland and would have been great with hot honey- but their hot honey just tastes like regular honey.

Strike 4: there was no printed wine-by-the-bottle list; we had to use a cellphone to read the wine list. Strike 5: We waited at least 45 minutes for our meal to arrive. The restaurant was NOT busy. We were told the kitchen was backed up. Was it the toilet that was backed up? Strike 6: The $60 filet mignon, ordered to be medium rare, arrived well-done. In spite of all of the above, we did leave a very generous 10% tip. No one should dine here. The manager never came by to apologize and to offer a recompense. DO NOT patronize this very disappointing establishment!!!
