If you asked them, they give you a face that this is how it is, why you can not wait, everyone have to wait here. Shifting all the costs onto the customers, including their time, is something I really don't appreciate about this shop. They want to make money but are not unwilling to hire more staff, even though they don't have many orders. They make customers wait for a long time to seem popular. Look at Happiness Hall and Sunrise next door, they have way much more orders but never keep customers waiting for so long and they will communicate with customer. The Avomango Sweet Dew is what drew me to this spot, and I was pleasantly surprised by my overall experience! I ordered at their virtual kiosk on a Sunday afternoon and waited around 5 minutes for my drink. There were a handful of orders before mine, which the staff churned out quite efficiently. Onto the drink: Relative to the ones I've purchased elsewhere, this one definitely lives up to its $7 price tag. It comes with fresh pieces of mango and grapefruit, as well as agar boba. The coconut milk blended into the avocado smoothie gives it an added fragrant component. A sip of this drink balances sweet, creamy, and tart in a way I haven't experienced in a while! Really enjoyed it, and ordering it with 25% sweetness was perfect for me. I was a bit hesitant to try this place out due to the mixed reviews, but I don't have anything bad to say about my experience. This place is a hit or miss. One thing to note is that they take a while to make your drinks even with a lot of people behind the counter. Moreover, I had went a day before I'm writing this review and the drinks were good. The next day I went, (today as I'm writing this) the drink had no sugar whatsoever, I was drinking straight milk. The employee who had handed me the drink also slammed my drink onto the counter & did not say a single word to me. This place seemed interesting so I figured I would give it a shot. ROASTED OOLONG - I love roasted oolong and was happy to see it here. The flavor is good, similar to Teaspoon (which is one of my favorite roasted oolong places). You can taste the tea but it's not overbrewed. I got "less sweet" which I assume is similar to 75%. I think next time I might be able to go to 50% but usually I get 75% at Teaspoon and general boba places and 50% at boba guys. It wasn't overly sweet. BOBA - I got the brown sugar boba and the flavor was on point, it was definitely sweet and tasty. A little on the soft side (I like mine chewier/bouncier) but it wasn't horrible and I like that it's on the bigger side. Their new location is in Milpitas, and across the street from the Lion Supermarket plaza. 3catea has a wide variety of drinks available, including fresh teas, fresh fruit & tea, fresh milk, fresh milk tea, pure tea, and specials. I wanted to try this place because my friend works at one of their Socal locations! (But apparently they're owned by different people according to said friend :0) The tea flavor was very strong and their 50% sweet would be comparable to 25% at other places I think. The soybean mousse was very special, super creamy and tasted like soymilk! Boba was also good texture, and it came warm in the drink- I could feel it from the bottom of the cup! I was drawn to this boba shop because of its adorable cat theme as a cat lover myself, but I'm not sure if this place is for me. I came here during the first week of the soft opening phase. One of the reasons is that I came here with a friend, and we both did not like our drinks. The other reason why I feel like this place might not be for me is that I'm allergic to many of their drinks due to my health condition, so the menu for me is very limited. Usually at boba shops, I am able to select from a majority of the menu and am only allergic to dessert drinks with cookie bits, but at this restaurant, many of their drinks appear to contain many of my allergies. For example, I cannot have any of their four milk tea options (cheese roasted milk tea, biscoff jasmine milk tea, soybean dan cong milk tea, oreo brulee boba milk tea) because I cannot eat cheese, wheat (the biscoff and oreo), or soy. My friend and I both ordered the ube milk at half sweet with half ice, and it wasn't what we were expecting. Maybe they can provide an image for it for better visualization for their customers. We were expecting a milk drink completely mixed with ube, but it was really just whole milk with ube paste chunks inside. It was difficult to mix. Maybe because we ordered half sweet, the milk flavor dominated the ube paste flavor. However, at other restaurants I have been to, when ordering a drink where reducing the sweetness would eliminate the accompanying flavor too much, the baristas would issue a warning about the lack of flavor and advise us to pick a higher level of sweetness instead. I liked the cat decor, and although the wait was a bit long, I think the baristas did well attending to all the customers during such an overwhelming soft opening. I hope that someday the milk tea drinks and milk drinks on the menu can be expanded. Maybe provide ordinary milk tea drinks (jasmine, oolong, strawberry, etc) that do not have cookies, soy, or cheese in it and are just made out of the tea and creamer. This way the menu can be more inclusive and have more flavors for milk tea lovers with health needs. The Coconut Milk Slush Paradise with less sugar and regular ice tasted very good. I ordered from the touch tap square machine. Credit cards accepted. Perfect for my tastebud. Excellent customer service. They were very fast, organized & efficient. I received my order in less than 5-6 minutes I think. Surprisingly, the place was more spacious than I had imagined prior to stepping in. It was super clean and modern inside. Sitting inside by the walls was not even stressful, compared to most beverage places packed with lines and crowds. Great wide seating spaces and small tables to enjoy the drink. I must say that all the little cat toy decorations were cute at the counter and so were all the cat posters on the wall. Goes well with the name of the store and theme. Very brightly lit up. I went right at opening on a weekday and did not have to wait in line, there are so many fruity drinks available but I wanted to play it safe and go with a milk tea. I ordered the soybean dan cong milk tea with boba at 50% sweet and less ice. Like I said, very impressed! The only other boba spot I know that has soybean cream foam is TaoTao in Saratoga so I'm glad they're offering that option here too. I was very hopeful when I saw how cute the branding for this tea shop was and the high rating on Yelp. As a boba "enthusiast" I enjoy trying new spots and giving them a fair shot at making me a regular, or frequent visitor, as my cravings for boba come often. I tried the Oreo Brulee Boba Milk Tea, and the Avomango Dew smoothie, and although their presentation and color looked wonderful, I was not swept off my feet by either. Oreo Brulee Boba Milk Tea - 2/5 A mild tea, with a fair bit of foam and little to no oreo. This tea was more watered down than I care to admit, and sadly a poor drink overall. The only enjoyable part of the drink was the cheesy, creamy creme brulee foam at the top. The dense and not so flavorful boba pearls made me wish I had skipped on them -- but since they were included I didn't think to remove them. If a tea shop needs to be good at anything, I would think it would be the milk tea. Avomango Dew smoothie - 4/5 Seeing that most of the "top choices" being advertised on their menu included either fruit or cheese foam, I figured I would give the Avomango Dew smoothie a try as well (if I'm not mistaken it is/was their #1 drink listed). The smoothie blend is quite stunning and the fresh mango chunks are a delightful substitute for pearls. The mango portion of the smoothie was quite sweet, but not overwhelming, whereas the avocado portion was creamier and much more inoffensive in its taste. I was not necessarily wowed by the drink, but I was not upset that I had gotten it either. As a whole my experience was lackluster, and I am not one for scathing reviews, so I only offer this in honest comparison to the raving 5 star reviews for this location. I would go for the other fruit or cheese foam options next time, since the traditional milk tea was not worth trying. There was no bathroom available, and the staff was seemingly overwhelmed with orders that no one greets you as you walk in. You order at the self service iPad, pay, and wait. I ordered a total of 4 drinks with some other people. Each of the drinks was decent and they have a wide variety of things. My main problem was the price. Staff is very rude and unaccommodating. I applied to work here, and I got the job. I did one day of training and never came back. The staff was very rude. They had no proper training and told me to go home with no explanation after an hour. I had to hear from the hiring manager through text about how I was cleaning too slowly when I was given no directions other than to just "clean the fridge with a mop." Aside from that, their drinks are nothing out of the ordinary and are too overpriced.
