Fifth visit in roughly 3 years. All have benn very good, but this visit set the bar. Made a reservation for four about 3 hours jn advance. We showed up a few minutes early and were seated right away. Started with a nice Willamette Pinot, escargot, and the shrimp and crabmeat appetizers. Each couple were celebrating anniversaries so we were given ample time to enjoy before placing our order Frankie recommended the Mexican triggerfish so the guys ordered that and gals ordered fried shrimp and a pasta dish. The shrimp and pasta were good, but, my buddy and I agreed that the Triggerfish entree was a Top 10 lifetime entree (and I will say that both couples are very well traveled). We have never been disappointed at 386. Now, I lived in NY for 5 years, and frequently travel to the NE. The best description I could give is that this is an intimate family restaurant that has been relocated from Jersey to what is essentially the middle of nowhere in Old Florida. Tucked halfway between Palm Coast and Crescent Beach, some people may not be able to process the quality of this dining experience based upon its location. It is not Instagram dining (I am fine with that), the parking lot is not paved, and it is not particularly inexpensive (2 apps, 4 entrees, 1 dessert, and 3 bottles of wine -$375) but if you can appreciate an interesting menu served by real people in a relaxed setting you will enjoy a visit to 386. As a tip, and inresponse to a recent review, I cannot imagine trying to eat al fresco at 386. Sit inside or take to go (not that this is really to go kind of food); this is called The Hammock because it is in a hardwood (think jungle) hammock. read more

To our surprise and the line out the door our seats were waiting for us. Frank, the Owner hands on as usual was there to graciously tell us about the specials... Franks Oyster Rockefeller ROCKED IT! Extremely GOOD! Go there! Eat! Enjoy! We went and we had some of the best food since we moved down here 8 years ago. My wife had the calamari as an appetizer and the salmon piccata for entree. I had the filet mignon. All were cooked correctly and tasted great. The sides were just as good. I like spinach and my side of spinach was as good as I make for myself. Excellent dining! We went early and sat at the bar, receiving great service from Steve as well as Frank from the kitchen. The owners are very attentive. I liked that the menu was short, then there were many evening specials that all sounded sumptuous. We dined from the appetizer list -- a chicken flatbread and shrimp & grits as well as the New England clam chowder. All were excellent. The shrimp&grits had an interesting sausage/pepper seasoning, the grits were just right (this southern gal knows her grits). The Malbec wine was ample and a fine vintage and then the desserts were over the top. Chocolate souffle cake hot and steamy w/ cold ala mode. Creme Brulee!! The food was excellent--I had the petite filet & vegetable ravioli for an appetizer. They were able to get us in without a reservation with 30 minutes notice. The staff seemed overwhelmed- nice, but extremely busy and we had to wait a little while between dinner, dessert & getting the check. Loved this venue since we moved from NYC. It's been downhill since 2015. Waitstaff has been super efficient and the food has been great. But our last few visits have been subpar. Had rezzies for our anniversary June 2018 and the food and service were terrible. 3 months later, empty tables in dining room and we still had to sit at the bar. The place was near empty. Thankfully barstaff was super nice. Don't tell us you can't seat us when you can't fill tables. Sad to see owner pacing and seemingly micromanaging barstaff. Must be an omen read more

Very disappointed. After a good salad the steaks had so much gristle we could eat them. The water only took one back because a third of the other one was eaten! Then a fly died in my very weak white sangria. When the bill came we were charge more drinks than we had ordered! read more

I was in town visiting friends who had just moved into the area. The atmosphere seemed pleasant and friendly. We ordered drinks and a pizza. A five slice pizza came out with large gaps between the slices?! What is wrong with this picture? When we asked for an explanation we got a, piss poor, "I don't know." From Soup to Nuts this place was extraordinary. We started out with a short rib appetizer with a sunny side up egg on top and potato cake it was out of this world. Our waiter was a real professional. Stopped for dinner with a friend, we ordered the small margarita pizza which is served as a traditional round pizza. The pizza was terrible! The bottom crust was soggy but worst was there were only five slices of pizza for a round pie and the pizza was pulled apart and it was obvious a slice was missing. When we asked the owner about it, he responded ' I don't know what goes on in the kitchen'! Seriously, as the owner??? The cook came out and asked my husband how he liked the pizza and my husband again inquired about why there were five slices? The cook also did not have a good reason and said, 'sometime they come out like that'. Our friend also inquired and got the same run around. Ten minutes later, the couple seated next to us got a pizza, 6 slices in a round pie, all slices touching. Won't go back. read more

The place is kind of dirty and as I glanced into the kitchen I noticed that the kitchen is absolutely filthy the restrooms are absolutely disgusting the food is not bad at all but menu needs to be improved, the salmon that we had was kind of dry and the i e tuner was not fresh but for $241 for 4 people I could think of much better places to eat. read more

My wife and I started out at Uncaged, but it was too crowded so we left and went to 386, which was also full but just a short wait for a table. We were seated in about five minutes right behind a table for 8. Bad sign. No waiter came by for ten minutes. Finally a waitress came by and asked if we had been served. Another bad sign. She took drink orders. Mine came about five minutes later, but my wife's never came. She ordered a prosecco, but they said it was not cold and on ice. Fifteen minutes later it had still not come. Our waitress did read us the special list which went on forever. Must have been 15 items. Of course, none of them were listed with prices. Just print up a special menu with prices and save your waiters the pain of having to go through this pointless exercise. She busted away before we could order. So after half an hour we had one glass of wine, no drink for my wife, no order in, no water. What a horrible dining experience. This has happened before but never quite this bad. Get your act together. For the prices you are charging there should be first rate service. The only positive thing I can say is that our poor waiter comped the one glass of wine we had. It was not her fault. The place is horribly managed. read more

This place is wonderful, featuring foods that you just don't find in other restaurants around here. We ate there for our anniversary recently having lamb chops and the huge double bone in pork chop. Both were outstanding, cooked to perfection. The prices were reasonable. Our ding experience started with the smoked salmon spread and loved it too, finished with the raspberry truffle chocolate cake and it was the only thing that disappointed...was dry and seemed old. Really good, although the fusion name is a little misleading. Great food. I had really nice grilled chicken breast. My wife had fabulous grouper. The guacamole was really good, very creamy. Fusion to us means a combining of two different cuisines. Fusion here means a variety of good foods. The menu had a lot of variety and choice. Glad we stopped in for dinner. read more

I saw my friend had went here on Instagram and raves about it, so for my birthday we decided to try it and we are so glad we did! From the moment we got there the owner greeted and sat us. He was from NJ and very professional yet friendly. They had a huge wine list. We ordered Malbec and it was very good and fresh. We got the shrimp and lump crab appetizer and the seafood was so fresh you could tell. We both got a salad and the salads are great portions for side salads and all of the vegis were crisp and fresh. It came with homemade soft warm bread and a balsamic and oil mix to dip. We ordered steaks a ribeye and a filet. When it came out U don't expect much as it came with potatoes and carrots. But everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. There was so much flavor we couldn't stop raving. Even the carrots were so flavorful and cooked perfectly. We then ordered a creme brûlée to split and it was sooooo good. We got talking to another couple there and it got mentioned it was my birthday. The waitress was like "why didn't you tell me!" I said because I hate the singing and the big thing haha. The owner was so sweet and took the dessert off our bill. We had another glass of wine we were enjoying ourselves so much. It was a cute little atmosphere and a family owned restaurant. (His lady and daughter were serving) it's the best meal I've had since I moved to Florida 4 years ago. Food is ok but the waitstaff needs training. Came on prime rib night - no prime rib. Waitress said it was great WHEN they had it. Ordered the duck app - none to be had at 6:00 pm. Waitress went on and on about how good it was WHEN they had it. Ordered 2 glasses of wine. Waitress said more cost effective to order a bottle and suggested Hahn. We said ok. But they were out. Waitress said it was really good stuff. How the heck would we know? She also missed one drink order (party of 4) and got the final orders mixed up. Then proceeded to tell us what a terrible day she had and assured us she would be wearing makeup the next time we saw her. We're locals but hey, it's a pricy place and poor service goes a long way toward dismissing the experience. You may have better luck. read more

We have dined at 386 several times now, and have tried different menu selections each time. We have never been disappointed! In our estimation, 386 is the best restaurant in Flagler County The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and it was nice that the owner was there to greet patrons and to ensure all was as it should be. The atmosphere is intimate, the wine selection excellent, and the food . . . well, what can we say? My most memorable meal was the NZ lamb - and since I am from New Zealand, I feel I am qualified to say it was cooked to perfection! Stopped in for an early dinner. Cute place. Service was great. Too many specials(6-7) to keep track of. Should keep it simple with maybe 3. Good diverse menu. Something for everyone. I had the Shrimp Scampi. Was more like shrimp (5) on linguine with w.wine butter sauce. $22... wasn't bad it just wasn't Shrimp Scampi. The rest of the tables food looked great! My husband, another couple and I had never been to 386 Fusion. We live in Crescent Beach and dine out often but typically in Saint Augustine and Saint Augustine Beach. We were hoping to find a good restaurant south of us and decided to try 386 Fusion. The waitress led us to believe the soup or salad was included with the entry. My husband looked at the bill before paying and saw that each of us was charged extra for the soup or salad but he didn't say anything because he was paying for the other couples meal. He told me when we got home and I said I would call the restaurant but after reading a number of reviews I noticed that the manager tends to get a bit defensive and I felt like I would be wasting my time. Also, my husbands meal and the other woman with us were served cold meals. A real disappointment. read more

Just left 386 minutes ago. One of the most disappointing meal experience ever!! More than a week ago I spoke to the manager (husband handles the bar) to make tonight's reservation as this is our 50th anniversary. No notes or comment (wouldn't any good customer service indicate to make a note next to the reservation?) when we arrived or when we were seated. We sat so long waiting for any server or even water. The place was incredibly noisy including a waitress who sounded like she had a bullhorn. Many young kids which really surprised us for what is supposed to be one of the best Palm Coast restaurants. It was so bad twice I had to reprogram my only hearing aid. Eventually we had a waiter who was trying his best to be attentive. The noise was so bad he had to sit next to my wife to tell us the specials. We both chose Caesar salads but the requested pepper mill never arrived. My wife had the petite filet and I had the prime rib. Both were cooked exactly as ordered. My mashed potato was like a small ice cream scoop, the sautéed spinach was good but tiny. In fact my prime rib was about 3/4 inch thick and similar to what in New York and Connecticut would be called a lady's portion. Oh yes, our only alcohol was one glass of merlot. With tip= $96. We will never return to 386 or go to their sister restaurant 727. We are used to unlimited funds for dinners in NYC or in Fairfield County CT. Only my wife kept me from telling the hostess how miserable this experience was and leaving prior to the meal. Absolutely less than one star!! read more

I'm shocked at the reviews that complain about the food. I just cant say enough good things about the meal we had. Its good to see that no one really seems to complain about the ambiance because anyone who eats in this area on a regular basis knows damn well what you are going to get. Casual is good sometimes and there isn't a better place to eat at then 386. Yes, it is small and yes it could use a little cleaning up but keep in mind people - it has been open for 6 months at best. So, lets talk about the food. The tuna tartare was exceptional, nice small portion like an appetizer should be but filling enough for sure. The duck spring rolls were excellent! I actually never had duck before and this was a great way to try it. The waitress (Kat I believe) was very nice and offered us a sweet thai sauce to go with it as well as the spicy mustard. It was a nice 2nd option to have. My wife had the scallops over prosciutto/risotto. It was cooked perfectly and delicious and again the portion was perfect! I had the chicken scallopini with cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and capers over linguine. It was phenomenal! The chicken was juicy and linguini nicely done al dente style. Let me now talk about the owner Frank. He couldn't have been more pleasing to talk to. 1st, he personally came out with a different bottle of wine then the one I ordered because it was sold out. Look those things happen at small restaurants that cant sure liquor. Most places the waiter would just return and say sorry pick another. Not here, he gave me a better bottle then what I had ordered and charged me less. He then spent a few mins filling us in about the restaurant and his quick background (originally an NJ guy like myself). After that he would check in with us periodically to make sure everything was done to our liking. Towards the end of the night Frank returned with a complimentary piece of NY cappuccino cheese cake! It was as good a piece of cheese cake I have ever had. I wish nothing but the best to Frank and 386, I hope they thrive there and I will be returning everytime I come to visit my family at Hammock Dunes. The place bills itself as a "fine dining" experience but not only was the food sub-par, our waitress had dirty fingernails. She was friendly and mostly helpful but the dirty fingernails means that the owners don't care about cleanliness. Aside from the staff, our meals were mediocre. None of our dishes included vegetables and they weren't even offered as an up-charge. My scallop dish was four average size scallops and rice. That's it. The price point warrants additional attention in menu planning, additional attention from the waitstaff, and most importantly, additional attention from the chef. This is the old Mad Dog's on A1A. I went there the other night and I was really impressed. We got a calamari salad, the ossobuco, and the fish and chips. The ossobuco and salad were amazing. 386 is a small, shack-like restaurant that has completely different decor on the inside. The interior walls are covered with paintings by unknown artists for unreasonable prices. In addition, the tile floors and wood walls and ceilings make the dining room extremely loud; so loud that my table had to shout! You can hear every conversation going on at the tables nearby. Very annoying, especially for older guests. The busboys were either stoned or incompetent... Then, the food. The wedge salad was decent, though ordinary. The tuna was lacking in flavor. The tartare was completely deconstructed, which makes absolutely no sense. Don't leave it to the diner to add in the capers, sauces and onions - that's a recipe for disaster, literally! Ended up sending the tuna and the tartare back. Probably won't come back here, there are other restaurants in the area that have more experienced chefs and sophisticated acoustics. Ps. Ordering several glasses of wine is cheaper than buying a bottle! So strange. read more

Went to celebrate my son's Birthday. They did not have my reservation. Great start. Oh! when I did make the reservation, I seemed to be bothering them. I live in Palm Coast so this is not my first time to 386. However, it is my last. Waited about 25 mins for a table. Food was average at best. I ordered Grouper($28) and the piece of fish was so small my wife commented. Son ordered stone crab. He said they tasted good, three claws for $35. The couscous was not warm and he took a bite and told the waiter. It came back in 5 mins with the same folk mark where he tasted it. The owner came over and asked how was the meal. We told him the couscous was cold and did not taste well. He stated " it happens" and walked away. This was unreal. I keep trying so hard to like this place and this did it. Total bill with tip $181. Last money they get from our family. Crap, I was so hoping to like this place but they consistently disappoint. A perfectly excellent experience. We tried a wide variety and were very pleased. The crab cakes were spectacular as were the other appetizers (eggplant flat bread and the duck). Lake trout was the best I've ever had. Also tasted the rack of lamb and was equally impressed. So many great things on the menu and a top notch beer selection as well. One of the best restaurants we have EVER been to, and we have been to a lot of restaurants!!! We had a party of 9 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
