We almost missed the restaurant as we passed its sign on Highway 1 and had to u turn back. The parking lot was a dirt patch and the exterior was nothing to write home about as it was looked like a old Florida home. However, the inside was warm and inviting. The personnel were wonderful, informative and attentive. The menus was Florida eclectic. Chicken, steak and seafood. I had the stuffed mushrooms with escargots and crab. These were large mushrooms and filled with goodness. My entree was the cioppino. Mussels, shrimp, scallops in a simmering broth. Wonderful. Went there Saturday evening for a drink and to eat at the bar. There were four seats open and the owner/bartender said "he had people comin" in a very nasty tone. We then asked for a drink and he said "no liquor, only beer and wine". We also saw him pulling plates of food covered in saran wrap out of a beverage cooler and trying to serve them to a table. The people refused the food and he put them back in the cooler. Nasty attitude and very unwelcome and unprofessional. I will never go back. We have been there several times before and were equally unimpressed. read more

386 is better than expected from the other YELP reviews. And don't let the pictures fool you, the food is great. Coming from Ft Lauderdale it's great to step into a small place on a quiet, bucolic island. The mood at 386 is romantic and charming. But expect to have fun because the service is that good. Our waiter gave the type of devotion you'd expect in a very high-end eatery. He was in command of his craft. The owner was not shy, either. He greeted us on the way in and earnestly checked on us mid-meal. It's always nice to want for nothing. We tried sea bass and tuna specials. Both were delicious, but their Caesar dressing stuck out more than anything. I recommend giving it a try. We also had clams and tiramisu. Need a bar? Looks like the locals have a great time getting together in the bar area. Small but decent beer selection to go with a great wine list. Enjoy! read more

Met at the door after making reservations by a very gruff New Yorker (owner). He promptly found us a table, he eloquently explained the menu and specials to us. He took our wine order (decent list) and brought it right back. The specials all sounded delicious. We opted for the red chowder, the black grouper, and the crab encrusted flounder. All were delicious, our praise goes to the chef. The owner, his girl friend were very frequent on checking with us. Most definitely on our list of restaurants to return to! read more

It my wife and I second visit to 386.. We had such a great meal the first time we decided to drive the 45 minutes to try it again. We were not disappointed. Our meals were outstanding. First time dining at 386 and we will certainly be back! Crab crusted Hogfish was delicious, expertly cooked and seasoned. My fellow diners also the same of the ribeye and scallops. At first I wasn't quite sure about the fact that the accompaniments (rice and vegetable) were the same for all seafood dishes , and worried that they may be a little dull, but they were also expertly seasoned and really helped highlight the fabulous fish. We had a 6:30 reservation and waited a bit at the bar for our table to be ready, which is completely understandable with the current COVID climate. However, the great service provided at the bar while we waited was enough to distract my normally impatient parents. Very, very pleased and looking forward to my next visit! read more

We really love this place. We just moved here a month ago, and have been twice. There are lots of regulars who eat at the bar. The bartender is very sweet. The clams casino are wonderful, loaded with bacon. I had Chilean sea bass. It was velvety with a delicious sauce. My husband had double boned lamb chops. He loved them. The meat was very tender. The only thing I would change is a better olive oil. I can't find high quality olive oil in any restaurant in Palm Coast. read more

Extremely disappointed in our experience at 386 restaurant on A1A . We have been there many times over the past several years and the food and service were always very good. We went there last night with friends and very sorry to say we were very disappointed. First off they advertised 20% off entire meal on their FB page and directly inside the restaurant on a chalk board . Only to be told when ordering that it was only 15% on the entry. The food was good but being served by a woman carrying a baby in a chest carrier was completely inappropriate . The restaurant itself has become very shabby, needs painting , missing switch plate covers and overall looking run down. The bar and the restaurant have always been very busy in the past but that was not the case last night. Bar was almost empty and only about 3 tables occupied in the restaurant. I guess that was a red flag. The coup de grace was when we did not get full gift card value when paying the bill. Needless to say we most probably won't go back. read more

I'm leaving a review from my second experience at 386. The food was great as usual. Only one person in my party's food was inedibly salty, which if we had good service could have easily been remedied. This brings me to the negative part of the dining experience. Our server was completely absent most of dinner. We had runners bring our food and had to ask the hostess for condiments since our server didn't return to the table after she took our order. We didn't get checked in on once so we had no opportunity to ask for a new dish based on the over-salted scallops. My friend asked for a refill on beer and the server came back and said "sorry we're out." She didn't offer an alternative, or ask her what else she wanted. Also 3 of us ordered steak dishes and we were never brought steak knives. We only had the chance to ask for them 10 minutes after our food came, and we only got them once we were done eating. Consider the food and ambience great, but this service experience was horrible. read more

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 25th anniversary. From the outside it looks like a casual bar and grill but once inside it was very pleasant. Nice music and lights, good ambiance. The service was great and the food was very good as well. My husband had the ribeye and I had the filet mignon and we shared the vanilla bean creme brûlée' for desert. No complaints, it was a perfect choice for our anniversary dinner. If we are ever in the area again we would come back. read more

Horrific experience... 386 restaurant Palm Coast...Have posted on FB BUSINESS PAGE the whole story ... hope the owner frank appreciates word of mouth advertising ... because when he told our group of ladies " GET THE SHIT OUT" ... those were his words... of his restaurant we wanted to repay him by spreading the word of his horrific hospitality. We left and ended up having fabulous dinner at LA PIAZZA CAFE, in European village just down the road. Fabulous food, very welcoming owner and fantastic waitress! Another friends experience: OMG!!! Jodi Fuqua and I tried to eat there and they wouldn't seat us. There were 7 of us and they told us that people make reservations days in advance. This restaurant is located in a broken down house on A1A that housed a different restaurant several years ago that had to be closed down because of sewer seepage flowing into the dining room. We recently went there hearing there were new owners and assumed that the interior had been upgraded. Wrong. It's still the exact samebroken down house which consists of a bar, and another room with a couple of tables and chairs and kitchen. If you still want to take a chance and eat there, beware. The service is actually as bad as this place looks. We went there Christmas Eve for a 7:30 pm dinner. They had a large party in the dining room which only left five other tables which were occupied. We were sent to the bar and waited over half an hour for a table. Unbelievably the woman working the bar was having such a hard time figuring how to work the register she never looked up at us. The service at our table was not much better even though we had two servers. We had to order our food twice because the first server didn't write our order down. It took five times to remind them about our order before it got to us. The food was acceptable but not worth the $160 (not including the tip) we paid for three dinners. read more

Once again, we enjoyed our dinner at 386. They have a nice selection of unique appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts. Tonight, we feasted on the shrimp tacos which were so amazing. My husband enjoyed the caesar salad, and I thoroughly devoured the chopped salad. For entrees, he had the Thai Shrimp, and I had the Mexican Triggerfish. Honestly, they were both so unique and unquestionably delicious. Kudos to the Chef! For dessert, we shared the peanut butter-chocolate cake. What can I say... It was fabulous. My friends and I decided to go this weekend when we saw two good reviews... after staying away when seeing many bad reviews about the owner. The food was good but nothing memorable would make me want to return (although a few of our tablemates said thiers was not very good - one persons steak was overcooked and she was too scared to tell the owner becuase we watched another table get the rolling eyes and stomping away when they brought up thier undercooked steak). The owner had no wait staff (which I have been told is on purpose) and was doing it himself (I did see his wife helping out). Waiting 20 minutes for a drink...longer to order... never getting a water when requested twice and having to deal with an annoyed owner when you ask them to describe a dish on the menu (since there is not description on the menu at all..."Filet Mignon"..."Ribeye"). Someone at a nearby table said he seems to always "winging it himself" as he got up and went to the bar for his own spoon. The own told us he was solo that night and we would have to "give him time" - I know things happen and I'm willing to give grace, but I hear this is what he does all the time... that is not acceptable. I wish 6 stars was possible. We came here on the suggestion of our hostess at The White Orchid Inn on Flagler beach. It's a 20 minute drive up A1A. We live in Palm Beach County. Palm Beach, West Palm, Delray and Boca all have a plethora of good places to eat. I've been to hundreds of them. I can honestly say I just possibly ate the best meal of my life at 386. The food was ridiculous. We had mussels and clams with prosciutto and garlic as an appetizer. Cooked perfectly, nice small non rubbery clams. Mussels were on point. We also had the hammock flatbread. Chicken and Gorgonzola with pears and basil. Spectacular. Our entrees were Gorgonzola NY Strip for me, cooked rare with an awesome crust. It was perfect. The truffle fries that came with it were super hot and crunchy. My wife had a veal rotini special with mascarpone and ricotta cheese and cream cheese spuds. Holy crap. It was so freaking good. Also came with green beans that were piping hot and crunchy. We usually skip dessert, but the meal was so good I had to try something. Had the hot chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream, it was divine. The service was excellent. Our first waiter rattled off 5 or 6 appetizer specials and another 4 or 5 entrees. Off the top of his head. They all share tables, our second waiter took our order. Everything was timed perfectly. The dining room is tight and noisy, but you can easily have a conversation without yelling. Has a very up north Italian restaurant feel. The owner Frank stopped by each table and had a conversation, he was sincere and seems to take great pride in putting out great food. Prices are fair, a lot cheaper than PBC. 2 large apps, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, 1 glass of house red, bottle of Voss and a cappuccino was $140 out the door which included a 20%+ tip. 50,000 meals in my life, this one was easily top 10 and is in the discussion for the best I've ever had. read more

We went here last summer on vacation and our entire family was really impressed!!! We rented a house nearby and I was looking for a nice restaurant to go to one night. When I saw the pictures of the food here (especially the desserts) I told my husband we have to go here! We took my in-laws to dinner and all four of us loved every single course. The food was amazing and we would definitely go back, but the one thing that stood out to us the most was the service. The owner, Frank, came over and introduced himself and he was very nice. I told him how I found his restaurant through the good reviews and pictures on Yelp. We told him that everything was delicious and he said that he loved hearing that and he wanted treat us to dessert! I thought that was very nice of him, but then the part that stuck out the most to all of us was when we were leaving around 9:00. Frank was sitting down at a table in the bar and just started to eat his dinner. When he saw us going to leave, he jumped up, ran over to the door and opened it for us. I know he said that he used to work in restaurants in New York City, but he moved to the Palm Coast because he wanted to bring real cuisine to the area...but I feel like he also brought service that was probably the way patrons were treated in the 1940s-1950s!!! read more

We came in a party of three and all had the specials, Chilean sea bass with lime risotto (oh my goodness!!), lamb chops (best I have ever tried) with couscous and a filet that would make Ruth's Chris jealous with smashed potatoes. It was so wonderful that our out-of-town family staying with us went two nights in a row. It's very lively with an upscale feel without being overly pretentious (you can wear jeans and feel right at home). Incredibly attentive owner and wonderful service by our waitress, Dana. It is my new favorite place in the Palm Coast/Flagler Beach area and as a local I HIGHLY recommend it! So nice to have a place like this in our little town that I can recommend to our vacationing family and friends. read more

Close to Hammock Beach and was highly recommended so we gave it a try to celebrate our daughter's 20th birthday. For apps we had calamari (good), escargot - served san shells in a garlicky, butter broth with hot, fresh bread (very good) and lightly fried oysters - half dozen (excellent!). Next we were served our entrees (the waiter forgot to order our wedge salads, but they brought them out and we had them with our dinners) and we had the rib eye special, rack of lamb and grouper special. They were all very good and they split the salad and grouper for us (my husband and I share our dishes) and our young adult children had their own and ate every bite! Desserts were excellent as well - chocolate lava cake with ice cream and tirimasu! The only real complaint besides not getting the salads at the proper time was that the restaurant was far too warm for an August evening! When you pay $200 (with tip) for dinner, you should not be sweating at the table. The ice in our drinks lasted about a minute! All in all, good service and good food. We will go back but maybe later in the fall or early Spring! read more

I would so like to give this restaurant 5 stars. We had calamari (yum!) as an appetizer. Rack of lamb and cioppino as entrees and molten chocolate and cheese cake as desserts. The food is excellent and if all you are going for is to fill your belly you will not be disappointed. However, if you like good service, this is not the place. We had to ask for water and bread. We both ordered salads and the entree came out before the salads and our waiter (Also the chef and owner) said we didn't need salad. (Really?) needless to say we never got the salad(s). The owner is wearing too many hats-while the wait staff was good at least two more people were needed. And one final note: it was our anniversary which we noted when we made the reservation. Nothing was said or acknowledged. Bottom line : don't plan on this place for a celebration. .. . Or good service. read more

Frank accommodated a party of 15 at what I would consider to be 'last minute', and did so with open arms, so kudos are well deserved for that alone. But then comes the food, oh, that food....all I can say is WOW. EVERY step of the meal, the apps, the wine, the salads, dinners, and the desserts - Pumpkin bread pudding....so legit. Do yourself a huge favor and stop in to 386 for a meal, you will not be dissappointed. It was some of the best food I've had in any city, in any town, in any state. Yes - I am that serious. I will be back next time I visit Palm Coast, and I am also looking forward to trying their other location in the European Village, 727....it looks to be amazing as well, and if it is even 1/2 has good as 386, I am confident that it will not let me down. I had a great experience here. The restaurant was crowded, but I was able to sit at the bar and get the full menu. The menu looked amazing. I decided upon the rack of lamb and it did not disappoint. The portion was on the small side, which was ok because I did not have a big appetite. The food was prepared with lots of flavor and attention to detail. The lamb was very good and tasty. The vegetables and mashed potato was also very tasty. The wine was a healthy pour and the staff was very attentive. I will definitely come back. read more

"Welcome to Flavortown!" Frank, the owner and our server, commented the above when delivering to my place setting a perfectly cooked prime rib with the most amazing chipotle butter. He was spot on! You might not consider the place if just driving by. The exterior is very much 'old Florida' and certainly off the beaten trail. But let us not judge a book by its cover, or a restaurant by its silken flowers. What's inside that counts: great food, exceptional unpretentious service and an owner who take utmost pride in his craft. Our visit was capped off with a rousing rendition of God Bless America, sung by the patrons of the bar area. Quite a way to leave Flavortown...only to hope to come back soon. One footnote: I wish I could give 4.5/5. The only misstep was a confused order...my wife ordered sea bass with what was promised As Parmesan risotto. What came out was curried sea bass with jasmine rice...or so it tasted. She did not mention anything, though I'm sure Frank would have corrected it.
