This place was dope. We came on Black Friday around 6 for dinner after the wait at the Loading Dock was wayyy too long. Luckily, there was one table left for the 3 of us, but they were definitely packed from front to back (most likely because people didn't want to cook the day after Thanksgiving). Our server was also the bartender and she was great, but it was just so packed, so the wait was pretty long for everything. However, it was 100% worth the wait. For one, drinks are cheap ($3.75 for Coronas) and the food is inexpensive, as well. The menu is pretty much just burgers and sides, so not too expansive, but I like that they took a theme and ran with it, rather than junk it up with unnecessary filler. The little menu on the table did boast "Deep Fried Pizza" on Saturdays and Sundays so I'd like to return for that, as they all sounded good. As for the burgers, the list is really long, with all types of classic, unique, and custom varieties. Our server said the burger of the day was a Thanksgiving special: meat patty topped with turkey, cranberry compote and a dang TEMPURA battered stuffing (if I wasn't so turkeyed-out, I totes would've gotten that). I opted for the burger with two 4 oz. patties, Cooper sharp cheese, homemade pickles and Thousand Island dressing (forget the name of it), plus a side of fries. Mom got the build-your-own and just did a plain patty with no cheese, and a red onion addition, with a side of onion rings. Dad got the classic with bacon, onions, etc. and a side of fries. They came out piping hot on mini cookie sheets and the East half was straight up PILED on with a massive amount of deliciously salty, crunchy hand-cut fries. My burger patties were more like meatballs, they were so round and fat, but no problem there...I just smooshed all that good good together between that awesome sturdy yet soft bun that held up to all the toppings. I think I ate my burger in less than 5 minutes, it was that good. An absolute perfect medium and flavored nicely. Now here's the best part - those onion rings tho. Hands down THE best onion ring I've ever had. I know I've said this before about Bareburger in Philly, but NO...these have fast tracked to the number one spot and now reign as the H.B.I.C. a/k/a The Supreme of the Onion Ring Coven. Not a thick, mealy batter like others have, more crispy and thin like a Bloomin' Onion type of batter, and it was seasoned wonderfully. The onion inside was thoroughly cooked, but not overdone, and wasn't stringy at all. Plus, you can't go wrong with that addicting dill aioli for dipping. I would straight up make the drive from Philly to Dunmore JUST for those game-changing onion rings. After all was said and done, for our burgers, three beers and a soda, it came to the mid forty dollar price range which is super affordable, especially for the quality of food you're getting. read more

Just as they say: basics...done better. This is where locals come after work for cheap beers and great burgers. I have tried four of their burgers, and it gets better each time. They taste handmade, fresh to order. The vibe in the restaurant is relaxed and friendly. People are all smiles and jus there to have a good time. The food here is outstanding. I've gotten a fair share of the items on the menu and have never had a bad meal. Their burgers are what they're known for, and for good reason (my favorite is the "Bingo"). The boneless chicken wings are also incredible. They have a HUGE list of beers for every taste and budget, everything from stouts to sours to weisses, all ranging from $2 to $10/12 per can/bottle. Not your run of the mill burger selections, although you could do a plain old 'build your own' if you like. Meat was unmistakably freshly ground, moist and tender. The brioche bun gives the burger just that little extra taste. I went way out of my element and had a Velveeta stuffed burger with provolone and fried peppers. I would like to start by saying the food that came out was excellent. My burger was cooked perfectly, and my girlfriend's was equally as good. After the first bite you can tell that they do care a lot about their ingredients. Their fries are handcut and the beef is ground daily, or so they say. My biggest issue I had was their organization. We walked in, no one greeted us, we didn't know where to sit, and everything was confusing. This place, although their food is great, is not meant to be a restaurant, it is a corner bar. There were not many places to sit and has dark lighting. This is typically is what you find in most bars. After about an hour after we had ordered our food the waitress came over to tell us she made a mistake and our order was given to the wrong table or was never put in. I'm not really sure she wasn't very clear. She greatfully owned the mistake and compensated us for the meal by not charging us. I personally think they have an issue with the organization of their tables and communicating between the floor and kitchen. If you are looking to try this place out you will need to keep in mind that it is a bar. There are not a lot of places to sit. The entire time we were there many people were leaving because of the wait for a table. The food is great but you'll need to speak up if you've been waiting for awhile for your food. I really enjoy this place! All of the burgers are amazing, the staff is super friendly, and the prices are great. I had the chicken quesadilla as an appetizer which was tasty and crispy. I enjoyed the Vintage burger which ended up being huge! The portions are very large. I also liked that the drinks were pretty cheap compared to some other local places. This is a great place to go for a top notch burger and that's it. Staff is friendly. The burger options and perp is amazing. Takes a while but everything is made to order. Only downside is the bar and the wait time between 3-5pm as they grind new chuck for dinner. I get it. It's one of the reasons it tastes so good but it's tough to give this place 5 stars. the bottled beer was warm . they didn't give us all the food we paid for(take-out). we ordered 4 dishes .. some foods were wet, some dry but they crammed it all into 2 containers. who does that??? everything was undercooked, soggy and just generally gross . we threw it all away and went do bed hungry yet too nauseous to eat anything more .one of us threw up. i loved this place. what happened? holy cow!! Decided to try this place out based on the reviews and I am glad I did. Online ordering was fairly easy to find and navigate. They offer delivery and curb side, but since this was my first trip, I wanted to check the place out a little. It is set up like a sports bar with tvs and high top tables. I got the Boogeyman Burger with fries and got the ghost pepper mayo on the side (this stuff is HOT so be careful if you don't have a high tolerance for spicy foods) and boneless chicken bites to share. My wife got the veggie burger (black bean based) with onion rings. Everything we had tasted great and cooked as requested. My beef burger was juicy and delicious, and the veggie burger was well seasoned and not dry. Fries were well seasoned and the onion rings were crispy and came with a nice dill sauce. Wings were fried and seasoned well, but the mild sauce was a little thick. Definitely want to come back to try some of the other burgers but will probably do a different sauce for wings if we get those again. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I almost certainly would. Yesterday my youngest son and I decided to try this place as it looked like an interesting new burger joint. We went around 2 o'clock, which is really after the Saturday lunch crowd. There was a decent crowd at the bar, and most of the tables were full also. Despite this there was no one giving us any directions about what we should do to be seated or to seat ourselves. Finally, someone at the bar directed us to seat ourselves. The table we were able to find was dirty and had a half empty beer glass on it. It took another 10 minutes for someone to come and clear the table and take an order. No one actually ever cleaned the table. My son and I both ordered the build your own burger, and we ordered sides of french fries and onion rings. Nothing complicated. With the build your burger, you have to tell them EXACTLY what you want on it, which we did, and very succinctly I might add. We also specifically stated that we DID NOT want cheese on our hamburgers. As the waiter walked away, I again stressed to him that there was to be NO cheese on the hamburgers. It took another 35 minutes for the food to come out! Remember, we only ordered hamburgers! Of course, when the food came out BOTH hamburgers HAD cheese on them. I asked the waiter how hamburgers could possibly have cheese on them, since you have to select the kind of cheese you want, and we did not select any cheese. He did not have an answer for me. At that point we were late for a subsequent appointment and had to leave without eating any lunch. No apology, nothing. Very disappointing, we won't be returning. Maybe the burgers are great, but you'd better have all day to get your order done correctly and served to you. read more

Visited 3 Jacks Burger Bar this week for the first time. After hearing rave reviews from virtually everyone who mentioned this new place; expectations were very high. Ordered the deep fried provolone (I'm assuming their version of mozzarella sticks) with marinara dipping sauce. It was like no other fried cheese you've ever had. Trust me - this one is a must!! These ARE NOT plopped out of a bag and into your standard deep fryer. Oh no! These, like all of the other food to come out of this kitchen, are hand crafted from scratch. Burgers of varying sizes and varieties were ordered at our table and not one person was disappointed! Mine was called "Rum Runner 2.0" if I remember correctly. Burger, Bacon, Cooper Cheese and Rum BBQ sauce! The hand crafted burgers are AMAZINGLY well prepared and thought through. The presentation is above par as well right down to the decadent brioche bun and the hand cut home made French Fries that come along on the tray... I give this phenomenal place five stars and I look forward to giving his fried pizza a go this weekend! GREAT JOB 3 Jacks! Great concept well executed... It's a great thing when a new restaurant pops up in the neighborhood, and it's even better when it's busy and bustling. However, this restaurant suffers from a total lack of optimization. The servers are also the bartenders, and that creates a huge issue in terms of wait time. I entered the bar yesterday evening with my girlfriend to meet a friend, who arrived ten minutes earlier. We sat down and noticed the friend had not received a drink or even a greeting from the bartenders. We sat for an additional fourteen minutes before even being acknowledged. The female bartender seemed to go out of her way to not make eye contact with anybody sitting at the bar, and instead turned her back and handled service bar orders. Finally, after debating leaving and going to a different restaurant, the male bartender/server came over and took our drink order and also passed out menus. The menu is wonderful, and there are a lot of options, which put me at ease. It took about fifteen more minutes or so before he came back to take our order, and then we sat with empty glasses. The chef actually came out to deliver food to the bar and filled my glass. Our food finally came out after waiting around 45 minutes, and it certainly looked great. However, the burger was freezing cold. I ate it because after sitting for almost 2 hours in a restaurant, you grow quite hungry. The burger is definitely quality, but I can't give a true review of it because I'm certain it wasn't intended to be eaten cold. Three Jack's needs to be optimized for the amount of business they are getting, or it's going to hurt them. I want to see this place succeed, but there is a lot that needs to change. My first impression was lackluster at best. The atmosphere is bland and uninviting. The service leaves a lot to be desired.
