There is no better piece of Americana than the Carwanna. I don't know how long it's been in existence....but everyone who is originally from Carbondale, PA knows this icon! It's greasy spoon meets small down Americana....and you can't go wrong if you like fries, burgers and hot dogs (but don't require much with ambiance:-)) The waitress brought our beverages in a can (no glasses)....but silverware was clean and the burger with Carwanna sauce was out of this world (as were the cheese fries I had). Take a tums if you're prone to indigestion...but don't miss this little classic:-)

They have the best food and the best staff. Diane is the best server I've ever had there. Will definitely be returning and requesting her!

Way too much sugar taste in the so called texas burger. It is sloppy and too hard to eat anyway. Not understanding the hype if this place.

When I heard they reopened, I knew I had to make the 3 hour drive to relive their amazing Texas burgers and dogs.

Today, Sunday March 1st was a special day for my wife and I, and since we haven't been to the restaurant in several months, we thought we'd stop by and get a delicious meal. My wife ordered the seafood dinner with all the various options, and I ordered the New York strip steak with a baked potato and broccoli. Well, I never complain about a meal. Most time if a meal isn't good, I just say thanks and pay my bill. However, I felt so disappointed after leaving here that I doubt we will ever go back. The young blonde girl on staff was not very friendly, but that's OK, because I know people have things going on. However, I said I wanted my steak well-done. As we waited for our meals we had a coffee and a soda. Coffee was very good. Then, the dinners were brought out in a very short time. I was happy about that because I was starving. Anyway, I take a bite of my steak and it's bloody. I was a little upset they didn't bring me what I wanted but I wasn't about to complain. Then, the steak tasted like it was rolled in a bucket of salt and served to me. I've had many steaks over the years, and I had the steak at your restaurant before, so I assumed it would be the same. I can honestly say that in my 46 years I never tasted such a salty piece of steak. I have high Cholesterol as it is, and I felt like I was going to take a stroke. My wife's fish and crab cakes were also loaded with salt. I still didn't say anything because I was trying to be a good guy. But then I tasted the baked potato and that was rolled in salt, too. I ate the skin and it was crunchy with loads of salt. Then, I went to try my broccoli and it was ice cold. At that point I was really thirsty and we both wanted refills on our drinks, but the little blonde girl never came over to ask how was everything or see if we needed refills. I had to ask one of the other young girls to get my check. When she gave me my check she threw it on the table and walked away. The bill came to 54 dollars and I even left her a five dollar tip because I was trying to be a good customer but she would have received a much bigger tip if her manners were better. This was supposed to be a special day for my wife and I, and we specifically chose your restaurant because we always had good food and service during our previous visits. I can honestly say that this was a terrible experience and it destroyed what started out as a good day. I will probably not be back, and that's sad, because at one time this restaurant was one of my favorites, but lately it has been suffering from bad staff and cooks. I'm sorry it had to come to this.

Warm, attentive service without hovering...exactly what you want for a special night. We started with the fried calamari and shrimp cocktails. Calamari was golden, tender, zero rubbery pieces, and the shrimp cocktail was huge, fresh, and perfectly chilled. Already a win. For mains, we went all out: Ribeye Steak cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a great sear, Rack of Lamb that was tender and seasoned beautifully, Lobster Crab & Seafood Fra Diavolo with just the right kick, and the Crab & Shrimp Spinach Fettuccine was creamy, packed with seafood, and didn't skimp on the crab. Every plate came out hot and every bite was spot-on. Portions are generous, vibe is cozy but still feels special enough for a 50th, and they even helped us make the birthday moment memorable. No rushed tables, no attitudejust great food and genuine hospitality. If you're in Simpson or driving through, Frank's Place is worth the stop. We'll be back with more friends in tow. Thanks for making her 50th so perfect!

Past two times we've been there we went around 7 and they said they were "closed". It sucks because we travel 30 minutes to get here and my mother has a cane and on Mother's Day we were turned away even though we had a reservation (when we called the person must've been new because they said nothing about them closing early) and on Google (which is what my mother uses not every person uses Facebook) they still said 9. We obviously won't come again but the food is good!
