This store has some good finds, but overall I wouldn't recommend selling your clothes here. Today, they legit offered me $1.27 for one of my sweaters, which I wish was a bad joke- it wasn't. They informed me that they do not accept brands from Forever 21, H&M, or GAP which made no sense. My clothes were barely worn and still in good condition too. I saw clothes out on the floor that was from F21. My friend noticed they sold clothes from Fashion Nova too. It seems like they only accept high-end products, but falsely advertise what they will and not accept. If 2nd Street believes Fashion Nova is high-end, I do not trust any of their designer brand products. read more

REVIEW AS A SELLER ONLY ~ I am green to selling clothes, so I may not have the strongest insight, but it was really easy to sell my clothing to 2nd Street. Walked in, dropped off my bag, and they called me back to the store within about an hour with a quote. Did I get a good price? Dunno. I don't have anything to compare it to, but Crossroads only took two items from my bag of clothes (a pair of jeans and one of slacks), and 2nd Street bought the rest. Since I was going to donate what was left to Goodwill, it worked out well for me (perhaps 2nd Street negotiates; I didn't try). ***Neither 2nd Street nor Crossroads wants formal gowns, so I donated those to Out Of The Closet and called it a day. read more

This place is great for anyone looking for a wide range of used clothing, from cheap used clothes to vintages to used hypebeast clothing. They are very clean and organized and eliminate the treasure-hunt experience or at least make it interesting. Definitely recommend it if you are looking for any type of clothing. I'd give them negative stars if I could. I walked in here and was asked to put my bag behind the counter which I do not mind. I understand that shoplifting is a thing but I walk in further and see another customer with a huge bag walking around the store. I have never been stigmatized before but this was a complete slap in the face especially with how diverse Berkeley is but apparently white people go by different rules. read more

4 stars because YES they do take your clothes but 3 because you will get definitely less than $10 for all of it. But hey I needed to get rid of them. Definitely a high end thrift store, I wouldn't compare this store to Buffalo exchange and crossroads. This is place is better in my opinion. So much selections of different brands and it's categorized for u. Found a lot of supreme, bape, Jordans, Burberry, and even Canada goose. Was able to cop the Canada goose vest for $265 and it was in pristine condition considering it's going online for $450. Favorite part was there glass case collection of purses and wallets ranging from brands like Gucci Louis Vuitton goyard and much more. I find there prices more better then other consignment stores and online stores I've seen. Definitely a must visit if ur in the area or if ur looking for a good consignment store. read more

Do not sell here--it is an absolute joke. I brought in some new with tags clothes, figured I would actually get something decent out of it. They offered me less than 1% of the retail price for every single piece. They even offered ten CENTS for a piece of new clothing...unbelievable. Take your stuff to Goodwill and collect the tax break. You're saving way more than taking it to this joke of a place. read more

Amazingly organized and clean store- staff was super polite & helpful! There are so many vintage pieces and also designer selection. I was there for 2 hours & still couldn't get enough!! I asked for an exchange or return immediately the next day. The employee told me that they were all final sales. As I'm reading all these reviews, I noticed people are mistaking this store for a thrift store when it's clearly SECONDHAND. Not a thrift store. Learn the difference people. Also, please do not compare this store to Buffalo or Crossroads. These stores have completely different concepts. I've also visited almost all the stores in LA and I'm glad 2nd Street is making their mark in the Bay, but I agree with one of the reviewers here; The Bay Area is more of a fast-fashion type of place. People here only care for what's hyped, easy to grab, and affordable. I'm not sure why people are surprised that they're only making a few bucks from selling their used Forever 21, H&M, and Zara clothes. No one wants to give you $20 for a $25 shirt you bought. They won't be making any profit that way. This is still a business. If you are looking for unique designer items to sell/buy, this is the place for you. If you're looking for Shein and other various fast fashion brands, then maybe you're better off at actual thrift stores. Also, as for the bag checking policy, the Bay Area is becoming more notorious for petty theft and break-ins, so it makes sense as to why people need to check their bag in. With the way our society/newer generations are focusing on creativity and sustainability, 2nd Street is right on the money. I hope the Bay Area gets rid of the cheap fast fashion mindset and starts gravitating towards one of a kind, quality pieces of clothing because that's exactly what 2nd Street has to offer. read more

Complete rip off to sell your clothes here. They don't have a consistent percent of the retail price of clothing that they offer you. I went in today and they wanted to purchase nearly 100 items from me but were offering $29 total. As an example they wanted to sell a brand new pair of shoes of mine for $30 and were offering me $5. Other shirts they were going to sell for $5 they were offering $0.10 for. This is a rip off, we decided to take all of our clothes and donate them to GoodWill. If you want to sell, go to Cross Roads, they offer 30% - 50% of their retail price to you. Don't waste your time selling here. read more

Came to sell and was quoted an hour long wait, only to have to wait over 2.5 hours. The staff were unfriendly and laughably unknowledgeable about clothing prices, and rudely sarcastic when apologizing for any inconvenience. Terrible experience overall, will definitely not be coming back to sell. read more

Prices are tax and being secondhand I have my doubts about the authenticity of the clothing. Doesn't seem like a consistent system to check that information. That's the risk with thrift shopping! Lower the prices and it will be a better experience. read more

I was really excited to see another second hand shop come into the neighborhood after buffalo exchange closed down. then i saw the prices online. hard pass. i have no idea how (unless theres a huge markdown in stores?) they think theyll survive the pandemic with prices like that in the spot they are in. i will happily stick with crossroads. im actually kind of shocked. read more

I came for some jeans and I found some perfect ones for $5!! I would definitely recommend this store over the rip off crossroads. I took clothes into sell at cross roads and they were pricing my shoes for $13 when I had bought it for $7 at Ross! Lol. read more

Someone who has seen my massive vintage and limited edition apparel referred me here. Since it was my first time I wanted to speak to the employees first before I hauled a bunch of items into the store because I'm disabled. I asked were they buying they said yes. I also asked what they buy and how they buy. I spent about 10 minutes or so talking to the employee about some of the items I had and said I would go get them from the car. When I returned to the store a different employee told me they probably weren't sure they were going to get to my items. The time to tell me that was before I walked all the way to the car and carried that heavy bag on my bad knee with a cane not after I returned. That was the whole point in me going into the store empty handed first, so I did not have to carry any items unnecessarily. Work on your communication both amongst one another and with customers. This could have easily been avoided if you wouldn't have just "oh I thought" aka assumed. read more

For the past few years I have been frequenting many of the SoCal stores and was recently surprised one opened up on Telegraph! And upon initial impression, this store holds up on par with the SoCal locations. I notice the other bad reviews are from folks expecting another Buffalo or Crossroads when 2nd STREET is faaar from that. Not even Wasteland can touch the integrity this type of consignment shop. This is "high-fashion" and even if you don't understand (or even care) such a concept, then yes...this place is definitely NOT for you. Even on a budget, I still found some gems (from exclusive designers, at that) and a very reasonable price. Of course, as with any consignment shop, re-sell value is of utmost importance for them, and with their type of branding, it makes sense. You can't bring your H&M, Zara, Gap, Old Navy gear here and expect to get crumbs for it. Which is mainly why I gave only 4 stars. I lightweight didn't want this store in the Bay as it has been a nice source of high end fashion whenever going to SoCal. And to be real honest, the Bay isn't ready for a shop like this. But hey, it's a start. read more
