I have been going to this optometry for over 10 years recently the way they treat the patients has…read morereally gone down hill. In the past 2 months I have called 3 times to check for appts and check my eligibility, 3 times I was put on hold for over 10 minutes then was given some excuse about why they couldn't schedule or check . This last time the staff member asked me for all of my information as if she was going to check for benefits and placed me on hold for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes she picked up and asked me all of my information again and then proceeded to tell me I have to call back because she's busy. Why not just tell me that the first time she answered? Also their frames are outdated i feel like they never get new frames in. The fact that they are right around the corner from my house kept me coming here but after this last interaction I will not be coming back here.

The staff member who booked the appointment over the phone knew that she was a Spanish speaker and knew that I could translate for her. White receptionist emphasized that it has to be a professional translator according to IEHP. While I appreciate that interpreters are being provided, in no way did they (receptionist) take ownership of their (the businesses) mistake. The receptionist was dismissive and lacked empathy for wasting our time. Don't waste your time going here. I booked the appointment here because I support local businesses, but honestly just go elsewhere where customer service is actually valued and receptionists and staff are trained to be consistent and compassionate in their communication.

Colton location...eyeglasses frame review only: The best!…read moreService was fast, frame selection prolific, follow up for occasional adjustments was equally friendly and fast. Optometrist remembered me from one visit to another; great place to get cleaning solutions, cases, etc. What was most surprising was that my prescription hasn't changed for six years, so I've been able to use the SAME frames for that long, with minor/occasional tightening adjustments. The glass has not scratched, the frames have never come apart...amazing durability. I don't pamper my glasses, and I wear them practically 24/7. I wish more purchases would last this long. :)

A few preliminaries...this is a review about the office of the optometrist, not the dispensing…read moreoptician next door that fills the prescriptions. (Walmart Vision & Glasses) Per CA law, the optometrist cannot be employed by Walmart. I went to the prior optometrist and got the best Rx of my life. So I have been trying, for several months to get an eye exam from the current optometrist, since it has been 4 years since the last exam. Their office phone will NOT be answered. I tried calling 3 times today to make an appointment. I left a message which after 3 hours has not been returned. I have tried stopping by on days when they are supposed to be open (T, Th and Sat) to find them closed. The business hours on the door are wrong, and indicate they are open on days they are closed. So after no returned call (going on 4 hours) I tried calling the Walmart Vision place to ask if the optometrist next door was in. Yes, he's in, I was told. You can do a "walk in" but be aware that they close from 2 to 3. I'm coming right over, I said. So I get there and I'm told it is going to be a long wait because they have 3 people waiting and they are closed from 2 to 3. I should have made an appointment, I was told. You haven't answered your phone the three times I called today. So the wait would be hours. The convenience of this place on my way to work is not worth the aggravation of trying to get in to see this guy. Some day I hope to be in a line of work that will allow me not to answer my phone, like these folks. I'm going elsewhere.

I've been going to Hospital Eyecare Center for about 9 years and I absolutely love Dr. Fletcher!…read moreShe's very sweet, informative and always makes me feel comfortable. Sad to say, I don't foresee myself returning back to this office because of the staff. I used to receive either an email or a call every year to inform me about my annual eye exam and they would schedule me an appointment. This year I didn't receive any of that and when I called to get one scheduled, they told me that I only had a "home" number on file which is why they couldn't send anything (which doesn't make sense because they've emailed me before AND called me). However, that didn't really bother me because I assume there process has changed, new staff members and/or they could be using a new system. The representative got me scheduled for an appointment and asked if my insurance changed and I did inform her it changed but needed to locate the new insurance info and would call back. I called back and provided her with my insurance info. - Exactly 5 days before my appointment, I actually went into there office to 1) verify that everything was all settled with my insurance 2) view some of the glasses I would soon pick out when I come in for my appointment and 3) request one pair of contacts as a courtesy since I was on my last pair of contacts and one contact ripped. The staff member at the front desk CONFIRMED that everything is good to go with my insurance and was nice enough to give me one pair of contacts. -- About 1 hour before my appointment I received a call from Hospital Eyecare Center about my insurance, which puzzled me because I thought it was all settled. She wanted to know if I had PPO insurance, I confirmed that it was and she told me that they accept PPO so I'm fine. -- I walk in the office the exact time of my appointment and the women at the front desk was still trying to get clarification on my insurance. I wasn't worried because I was told more than once that my insurance was covered. After 8-10 mins another representative comes to me to inform that my insurance is actually not covered and that they don't take the "PPO" insurance I have. I'm not upset at the fact that my insurance wasn't accepted, I was upset at the fact that I called in ADVANCE to schedule my appointment, provided them my insurance, went into the office days before my actual appointment to make sure I was covered and was told my insurance was good to go, but the day I come in for my appointment (mind you I took off from work) they tell me my insurance was NOT covered! I was so furious with them at that moment! I said what I had to say to them and just walked out. My advice to the staff, as soon as a customer schedules their appointment, don't wait until the day of their appointment to fully verify if their insurance is covered or not! That should have been done well in advance. At that moment, I wanted to rate them a 1 star, but that would have only been out of frustration. I think it's fair to rate them a 4, since I've been going to them for so long and didn't have any issues with them in the past, their office is always so clean when I visit and Dr. Fletcher is awesome. I also received an apology call from Debbie, which is appreciated. Other than that, I am disappointed with some of the staff members that were responsible for fully verifying my coverage.
