These guys are great! Stop looking for a place to get your phone repaired. Get in your car and drive to 1Up. I dropped my iphone 6+ on the rocks this wkend and shattered the screen. I looked at reviews on Yelp and then drove to the closest place with good reviews that was open on Sunday. That was not my smartest move. The first place i went wanted to charge me (literally) TWICE what I ended up paying at 1Up Repairs to fix the phone. On top of that, I don't think the guys in the store were the ones who do the repairs at that business, so their "same day service" would not have been same day. So, now to 1Up! I had to drive downtown, but it was WELL worth it. Here is the net-net with 1Up: -GREAT customer service--they like people and it shows -Nice folks who own and run the shop -FAST service -They know how to multi-task and help more than one person at a time -The cost was not only very reasonable, it was half of the price of the competition -They give me something to drink during the 25 mins or so that I was there -They offered me a big discount on the screen protector for the phone I put these two business owners in the highest category of customer service and business owners. I have an iPhone 5c and randomly dropped my phone today and the screen cracked. I went in to 1Up Repairs and Joe took care of me and it was awesome! The case / screen cover upsell with 20% discount is about the best move ever. No way I'm NOT gonna buy that. =] Joe knew immediately how to work with my phone and seemed to have done this type of fix a million times with ease. I had a great experience with 1Up and the speed of their service was crazy. I couldn't believe it was done that quick!! The best part of 1Up, I think, is the calm nature and friendly attitude of the staff. I felt right at home and wasn't embarrassed about not knowing everything about phones. So...a couple months after our initial visit to replace our LG G2 screen, the screen is a little wacky now. The screen has these vertical blurry lines that run across making it really hard to read/see anything on the screen. This then distorts the colors of the images on the screen. Perhaps the screen was not replaced correctly? Solution: We took our phone back into the shop (there is a 6 month warranty- which we didn't know) and worked with John. He explained the situation with the phone and fixed it promptly. He also offered to replace the phone screen if the situation occurs again!! I give John & 1Up Repairs a 5 star review because of their dedication & service to customers. And also, a 6 month warranty is unheard of in any cell phone repair shop! What a bonus! The team at 1Up did a fast and great job of repairing my screen cover, in effect: they took my bent-ass phone and made it bend back to normal in addition to replacing the cracked glass, making it look like a brand new phone. They saved me nearly 500$ because I'd bought a whole new I phone 5 from the Apple Store before upgrade thinking it was beyond repair, only to have major problems with it. So yeah, upon advice from friends I was able to return it and just spent the 100$ to repair my old one at 1Up-werd. I was told to come back for the camera replacement though, because they were out of the specific one I needed for the back of my phone. I came back on New Year's Eve and the owner, John, realized they were still out of that camera, but special ordered it for me, and had it in a couple of hours-and did not charge me any more than I was originally quoted, plus I had my cameras both fixed-yay. In addition, he has a hilarious sense of humor, and if I hadn't been so hungover I would have really enjoyed it... Just kidding John. For example, at one point he was like-"I like my coffee like my women, ground up in the freezer!". I actually think I'm going to steal that one-so good! These guys seem super helpful, honest and fair with their university clientele. I just didn't get what I expected to get, which was my iphone 6 screen repaired. I didn't feel cheated, but it was cheaper to go to the Apple store. Though I wouldn't have minded paying more to eliminate the Apple store's hassle factor, the phone's features didn't work properly after putting three different screens on in two visits. In the end, they put my old screen back on so I could take it to the Apple store and gave me back my money for the part, but not the labor. I struggled with whether to give these guys a 2 or a 3, as I watched them help a number of people for free or just a nominal fee. In the end, I wasn't satisfied and it cost me more than it should have. Regrettably, I can only give 1Up Repairs 2 stars. Business reports that they're the cheapest iphone repair in town. They charged me $129 plus tax, Apple charged me $117.99 total. read more

I'm hoping 1 Up takes this as constructive criticism. Techs were kind and knowledge about device issues. Came in for a display and rear glass replacement on a XS. Price was fair for the work expected and I was happy to work with a local austin business. Device was returned on within the 2 day window provided and there were slight issues present. The rear glass exhibited clear overuse of B7000/T8000 glue with globs oozing out around the edges. The rear replaced camera glass also exhibited similar signs of adhesive overuse. Within minutes of leaving the rear camera glass immediately exhibited signs of condensation which appears to have mostly gone away. The display was not reprogrammed with the MTSN of the original oem apple display and as such features like true tone would not work. I have dropped an email and hope to hear back a response. Overall i wished the small things were focused on to ensure that the customer gets back a device with similar to factory finish and function even if it takes a few days longer. read more

They made my life so so much easier- As luck would have it, I dropped my laptop the week before finals. So, after going to the campus computer store and getting told it'd be 2 weeks before they'd have it fixed, I was recommended to check this place out. Called another repair shop about replacing an iPhone 6 battery. They wanted to charge $20 more and needed 2+ weeks to order the battery. Called 1Up and they said they could get it done in 25 minutes. The shop was clean and the guys were professional. I liked that they hooked the phone up to a Mac and tested it in front of me before taking on the work. While waiting, I overheard two of the employees talking very patiently to a slightly frustrating customer with a vague computer problem. I thought the 1Up guys handled the situation well. My phone was repaired in under 25 minutes, good as new. I'll be recommending 1Up to others. read more

Samsung Note 4 with severe water damage to screen, and light damage to battery. Had a tough time deciding on a 4 or 5 star review. They were extra friendly, had parts on hand, and got it fixed right, and same day. Why 4 stars? They were $25 more than 2 other price quotes I got. They got my business cause they were able to fix it that day. Additionally, a friend had given me a good referral to trust them. Had another (entirely self-induced) problem with my screen; took it back and 1Up was just as awesome the second time. I'm not sure why it keeps happening with my iPhone 6, but I've now dropped it several times smack-down on hard surfaces. (And no, I wasn't drunk or anything!) The other day I dropped it on my hard-tile bathroom floor; this time the glass not only cracked, but the LCD screen broke to the point of rendering the phone unusable. Thinking I was going to have to buy a new glass screen *and* a new LCD screen, I headed back to 1Up. Turns out I was wrong: not only are they one and the same (they're all part of a single unit), but 1Up charged me even *less* money this time because I was a repeat customer!! On top of that, they put on a screen protector at no extra charge! THAT is what I call freakin' *awesome* customer service! The *lone* problem afterwards was that the new screen they installed was apparently a lemon, and shorted out entirely within an hour of me picking it up. No problemo: I simply went back in to 1Up, and they swapped it out with a new unit in under 15 minutes. It's apparently unusual for screens to simply go out like that, but they replaced it no questions asked and at no charge. read more

This is my second review because I just get the best service there. Had two repairs. iPhone and iPad. Good price and quick repairs. Super nice and friendly. Then my iphone stopped charging. I came in and they cleared some stuff that was getting in the way of the contacts and said it should work now. Went home and tried it on my apparently terrible cables and it wouldn't charge. So came back in. Charging. So they opened it up and checked it out and said it should work and gave me there cable for free just to be safe and I'm good to go. They also told a lady that her cheap phone would be cheaper to buy new that get fixed because they researched it. They don't bs you. 1UP Repairs legitimately saved my life! I woke up this morning to find a friend's cat had knocked my Sony laptop computer off the coffee table. I tried to turn it on and it spazzed out and shut off. Went in and the guys were super friendly. Fixed my cracked iphone screen and ended up giving me an extra case they had laying around until the one I ordered in the mail came in. After picking up iPad for screen repair, we removed the clear film to put the complimentary screen protector on but the film left a really sticky residue so we weren't able to put the screen protector on. The bottom half of the screen had stopped working and there was hairline crack through the screen. I messaged the guys about this and they told me to bring it back in and they fixed it good as new and placed the screen protector on for us as well as gave us a warranty! read more

1Up Repair is bar none the best computer repair shop in Austin!! They are fair, respectful and do their best to give you a clear and reasonable answer as well as a price to whatever your current problem or situation is at hand. They actually talk to you and explain what the parts will cost and what it will take to fix the problem plus give you a time frame of when to expect to get your computer back. I had been to three other computer stores before walking into 1UP and some of the others had quoted me double the cost of what 1UP quoted. One of the others places told me to drop it off and then he would at some point during the week take a look at it, see what it would need and then give me a price quote. However, he wouldn't be able to fix mine until all the others were repaired before mine was brought in. So he really didn't have any idea when that would be. Great. Anyway at 1UP, my computer screen was fixed and replaced within 3 days and was home. This guy knows how to run a professional business and clearly lives among other human beings. Brandon was they guy who handled my situation and dealt with my transaction and was the best!! If I could leave a review for 0 stars, I would do that. I took my Google Pixel here to have the screen repaired...but when they took it apart, they 'claimed' that a piece fell out and that the phone could no longer be powered on/off. OK - I understand things can happen, but that seemed far fetches given the phone was operating perfectly outside of having a cracked screen when I dropped it off. They claimed the needed to send it to some specialist to try and have my data(pictures, videos, files) recovered from the hard drive. Fast forward six weeks(when they said it would take 3 weeks), they said my phone was unrecoverable and that I could come pick it up to see if a hard drive specialist in town could pull the data. Then COVID -19 happened and I hadn't been able to return their call for a couple weeks due to my work and personal situation. I called in today to see if I could pick up the old phone and try to have the hard drive recovered. The technician I spoke with told me that he had no idea where my phone was and it was probably recylced already. He claimed that they owner my phone now because I purchased a new one from them in the interim...again, something that makes NO SENSE and was NEVER discussed with me. I expressed my discontent with their service and technician told me to quote "Go F*ck Myself". DO NOT TRUST THESE JOKERS. THEY THINK THAT THEYRE BETTER THAN ANYONE THEYRE TRYING TO HELP AND HONESTLY RUN A VERY POORLY ORGANIZED BUSINESS. My favorite least favorite place! All the stars for speed, kindness, ethics, and a great job. Timeline: Demolished my trusty iphone 5, 30 minutes before needing to leave town. The guy at AT&T recommended 1up, and my screen was fixed in 20 minutes with a warranty. This is great, except for the fact that my 'trusty' phone gave up over the weekend. Come Tuesday, I purchased a used iphone 6 on craigslist WITH A DEFUNCT BATTERY. After it shut off multiple times during the transfer process, I rushed it to 1up right before closing to see what they could find. Sure enough, when you buy a phone from some punk-ass high school kid, it's not going to be all there. Or all correctly installed. Luckily for me, 1up put in a new battery and even checked further into my phone to make sure everything else was performing correctly. Even nicer, they gave me a discount since I had just been there 3 days before with my iphone 5. My iphone 6 is now working perfectly.
