On Christmas Eve, I purchased a sewing machine for an adult child who lives on the west coast. I asked the owner to ship the machine so it would arrive a week later, when my "kid" would be home to receive it. Instead, the owner took it to the FedEx store on the day I wanted it delivered and, instead of shipping it by air, sent it by ground. To make matters worse, it was taken to the store AFTER the daily pickup so it did not leave Minnesota for another three days.
The Christmas gift was not delivered until January 10th, almost two weeks later than I had requested.
Additional insult to injury: I ordered an invisible zipper presser foot which do not arrive until March 1st. Over TWO MONTHS after I ordered and paid for it. I called the store every two weeks to inquire and every time the owner told me it was on back order. In mid-February the owner did not respond to my message.
Finally, I contacted Bernina USA. I did not get a response from them, either.
In addition to the lack of attention to timely (any) notification about the delays, whenever I told the owner I was unhappy with the service, he argued with me, telling me he did what he said he would do, etc.
First rule in business: The customer is always right.
I would have appreciated an apology from him, from Bernina, from anyone associated with this disastrous experience.
I really don't know what else to say except that I have zero intention of recommending this business. And I am hugely disappointed in Bernina USA, also. read more
