Brought pants there to be hemmed they told me that I could pick them up on Monday. Monday came and they were closed/doors locked, Tuesday came and they were still closed/doors locked, Wednesday came...yep, you guessed it still CLOSED. Maybe they left a message on their voicemail that they would be closed? NOPE Glad I wasn't needing them for a special occasion! Communication is key! THIS IS THE MOST FRUSTRATED I HAVE EVER BEEN WITH A BUSINESS. We had them make custom cushions and brought in the cushion, the zippers, the materials and everything they could ever need to do the job. We said which side of the material to be on the outside, which a real tailor should know anyways. THEY MADE THEM INSIDE OUT. They also charged us overtime to get them done in time even though the job was done INCORRECTLY. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE OR THEIR "SERVICES". Beyond disappointed. read more

I have been a customer at Robertos for over 20 years and have always been very satisfied and they always did excellent work. Apparently the ownership recently changed hands and the customer service is nothing like it was before. I dropped off a lined dress to be hemmed and paid $40 for the work. Within 3 months the hem came down. When I brought a pair of jeans in last week for hemming I brought the dress back for them to fix their work. They wanted me to pay again for the hem that came down. I had to argue with them to fix the poor job they did. One thread pulled the whole front of the hem down. They finally agreed to fix it along with hemming the jeans. Today I went to pick up my garments at 10:10 am and the shop wasn't open even though they advertise 10 am opening. These new owners are nothing like the former ones. They are relying on the great reputation the former owners had but are nothing like them. Also they only take cash so be prepared. They aren't user friendly. I'm looking for a new tailor read more

Fast and friendly service! They were able to hem my pants for $15 in less than a week, just in time for my vacation. The hem is precise with no loose threads. Please note that they do not take credit cards so come with cash in your wallet. Also, the entrance and parking can be hard to find if you don't know where you're going. It's at the end and kind of behind the strip mall, so you'll take the first left after you pass the main entrance to the mall's parking lot. read more

There are many other small businesses that deserve your time and money before I'd waste it on this place. We had an item that was dropped off and decided not to have fixed there due to the very high costs - it has take over 2 weeks to get a refund now, now the business owner says it will be another two days and laughed when I told him this was unacceptable. read more

I attempted to drop off 4 panel curtains to have them shortened - no lining or pleating or anything. I was told to come back on Monday to have price given to me and to pay in cash. I came back on a Monday and the price the lady gave me was $25. PER CURTAIN. And they would not have them done until the end of the month. I told her that my wedding dress was altered for $50 from a different tailor (this included moving of a zipper in a lace dress, adding bust cups, adding pickups, adding a sash, etc.) and I did not think that hemming a single panel curtain should be $25 because it requires less skill than a modification of a wedding dress. She laughed at me and said that her price was based on the amount of material (meaning the width of the curtain, no the level of expertise to do the job). Ridiculous. I told her that $100 to remove 6 inches off 4 curtains was too high and that I would find someone else. After some awkward going back and forth, they finally handed my curtains back to me. I advised them that they should post these prices so that this type of situation would not occur, however, I think there is a reason they don't list there prices - easier to price higher at random. I found someone to do all 4 curtains for $40 and have them done in 3 days. Do not go here unless you have extra cash to blow and do not expect customer service. There are other tailors that provide customer service at a reasonable price that are local. Roberto's is not the only tailor in Bloomington. read more
