I wouldn't recommend them. They have a dispatch service that's based in San Jose to address any alarm going off etc. Called the dispatch service Sunday night in order to get an Ontel Patrol to come over my residence for a non emergency call regarding two men in a truck going through our Gilton bin that had personal stuff/garbage being disposed of. The dispatch guy name Francisco kept on asking my password that I named what I recalled but was not correct: even though I proved my identity,he was asking me for a password I set 7 yrs ago and never had a reason to use til now. After arguing with the dispatch guy for several valuable minutes, he said he will get a dispatch ontel. And guess what? No Ontel came over. The company is one I wouldn't recommend sadly and one I will be terminating service. I will file a complaint to first security to relay the poor service from their dispatch company read more

If there was an option for zero stars, I would select that! Waited two weeks for them to come out and give me an estimate and the day they were finally scheduled they decided not to come. The only way I found out is when I called the main store in Modesto to get an ETA. I drove 1.5 hours to meet this company at my ranch and they never called to cancel or notify me that they were not coming. So unprofessional! I called 1st security and sound to set up an appointment to replace our alarm battery. When I made contact they couldn't find any history of service even though they had been to our house on several occasions. The rep then asked if we were monitored and I told her no. She made a sigh and told me to hold. After a few minutes she came back on and told me that the next appointment would be in 4 days. I said that would be fine. On the day of the appointment they were scheduled to show up between 4 & 5. They called at 5 pm and said they couldn't make it, but could come the next day at the same time. I said that would be fine, The next day came and went and again they didn't show. It's now been 3 days since the last missed appointment and I haven't heard from anyone. If you want an alarm company that wastes your time, call 1st security and sound. read more

I switched over to 1st Security & Sound from Armor Clad, I had nothing but problems with them, my alarm would randomly go off all the time (it would go off 5 times a month) they came out to "fix" it probably 3 times and the same thing. I am very very happy with the customer service, the alarm that was installed in my home & business! I am now getting cameras at my home (due to my annoying neighbor that kills my grass, flowers & moves my sprinklers) I feel very safe with the alarm system, they call you instant the alarms go off! I was set up to get service with this company until they changed the whole order on me! They first offered me a rate & installment deal & then they took their word back & didn't honor it! WacK! I don't have time for them to do their last minute mind change & expect me to go & get a print out of another company "Apples for Apples" so they call it! Long story short, I went else where I ended up getting a better deal and is way happier with their service anyway ;) things happen for a reason! Gotta love this reason! lol! Dislike mind changing and problematic companies. this company was not gonna be a fit for me if we already started on the wrong foot .... My father called Robert, and explained there was a chirping sound and a number displayed on their alarm system, that he couldn't figure it out. My father is 76, and technology can be confusing for all- Robert immediately knew it was a battery issue, and told him he'd be there within the hour. Scheduled a visit to delete a back door sensor from my keypad.. (simple) called to make appointment and wife stayed home from work to meet the guy at my house, they were a NO CALL NO SHOW .. when we called they said they were busy and rescheduled brushing it off.. next appointment, wife stayed home from work again, also another NO CALL NO SHOW... when they finally made their 3rd appointment they barely made the back end of their appointment time window.. just to spend 2 seconds deleting a sensor from the keypad and charging me $85 for a bs service call... getting rid of them ASAP .. trash customer service ! read more

I am extremely disappointed with 1st Security and Sound and this is why. I called 1st Security and Sound to schedule an appointment to evaluate the condition of the security system in a rental property that I own and make any repairs needed to get it fully operational. I choose them because they had worked on the system in the past with the previous owners. Chelsea answered the phone the first time I called and she took down my information and said she we call me back to schedule an appointment. I waited two days without a call back. I wish I would have taken the hint and not called them back but I did. I spoke with someone different the second time and that person made an appointment for the following week. The two man crew showed up promptly at 9:30 the morning of the appointment, they proceeded to check the system. They made some repairs to a couple of bad contacts and told me that there were a few window contacts that they would have to re-wire in the attic which I said was fine, I just wanted the system to be fully functional. They told me they did not have time to do the wiring that day due to their schedule and suggested that I call for an an estimate and schedule the repairs. I also asked them if the could silence the speaker chime when doors are opened. They said it was an old system but they would see what they could do. As they were getting ready to leave I asked about the speaker which they had forgotten about and they said they would have to cut the wire to the speaker wire to silence it, that seemed odd to me but I approved it to please the new tenant that we had moving in. Later that night I did some research on the internet to find you can silence the speaker from the control pad, I was not happy . When the technicians left at 11:00 the day of the service I called to get an estimate and schedule an appointment for the re-wiring of the windows and I spoke to Chelsea again. She said she would have Rob get back to me with a price. I called again that day at 4:30 to follow up and she said he would leave him a note to get back to me. I called again the next day to follow up and once again she said she would remind him. I asked her if she would call me back or should I call back and she said Rob would call me back with and estimate and price. It has now been two weeks and I never received a call back to for an estimate and schedule to complete the work to get the alarm system fully operational. Horrible! I called this place because I wanted cameras set up at my home. They came out and walked the property with me and I told them where I wanted them. They wrote up a quote and got it to me about a week later. I wanted to shop around a little bit and do some research on the cameras. I called multiple times to ask about what brand of cameras they were and they kept telling me their installer would call back...I'd wait 2 days and call again..nothing. This went on multiple times. In the mean time I got some other quotes from different companies. I tried them again after those quotes came back higher to try to get my questions answered. They just don't care to call or return my calls. I like the prices compared to other companies but I can't even get these people to return a phone call when I want to give them my money? What's gonna happen if I had a problem after install? RED FLAG! FLAKES!! read more

They were referred by a friend and they were able to come and install a new system with ability to control the alarm with my phone. They installed the alarm and cameras in my business. I just called them again today to get remote access to lock and unlock the doors in case my employees forget to lock them.
