We were left without cameras, cables and a bunch of holes in the walls. It was not intelliguard's job to cover the holes. But they installed the cameras in the house. INITIAL MEETING: The owner Sarge had done the home visit in Feb 2020 and I immediately made the decision based on his home review that I would change services from national competitor VIVINT to this local managed company a mile away from my house. Although I did not immediately change services until Jan 2021, it was only because I was retrenched due to COVID and could not afford the expense until my tax return came in......... THIS IS WHAT IMPRESSED ME WITH THE COMPANY: 1) THE BOSS: When I called Sarge up, he returned my call and knew who I was. He was congenial and respectful stating he would again look to see if pricing could be adjusted due to my situation. I appreciated that expression of understanding. 2) THE REQUEST: IHe went through everything again, and when I asked for a particular service man who he mentioned was his "pro", he said Sure we will get him out with another man we are training (Sean) ASAP. They came out the next morning at 10am. 3) THE SERVICE PROCEDURE: The two men showed up prompt at 9am. Fully appropriate COVID gear ( I did not even ask them to put on booties), and they reviewed everything, explained the process, showed me the devices ( cameras , sensors, etc) , helped me make final decisions. While working they showed me TWO sensors without batteries--- which told me the national company's people did not replace the batteries and did not do their work. Had my windows been broken into , the alarm would not set off!!!!!! Joe and Sean went to work, without a break from 10am to about 3pm. They chose to finish without taking lunch which showed me dedication even though I wanted them to rest a bit. They said, 'no' we want to finish completely and then we will be more relaxed having lunch. We know you need your privacy. 4) PERSONAL CONTACT: Before they left, Joe provided me his personal contacts and said....Should you ever have any issue that can not be resolved, or question on the system... call me. I will make sure everything gets done quickly. 5) PAYMENT: Because my debit card had changed dates, they were willing to wait a few days for payment for the new products. I wanted to pay cash for this and they were accommodating. 6) DAY FOUR--- my internet service provider had to do some work. My password changed and I called Joe because the cameras went down. He walked me through the process of rebooting however, my fingers could not do one of the steps, so he arranged for his office to set time for him to service the house. The morning he came out--- he called me 15 minutes before to tell me he was on the way to alert me to open my gate. He came in on time again, and was done in 40 minutes. Polite approach, efficient, and again congenial and personal. 7) ALARM: I forgot to turn my alarm off one morning. THE SOUND OF THE ALARM is really loud and scary. I went to the box too slow and immediately the call center was asking me if I was OK. The nice thing is that just knowing the office is only a few minutes away, and she was so quick to respond, I acknowledged to myself that I am safer in my home with this LOCAL SERVICE PROVIDER vs the national competitor. Plus, INTELLIGUARD gives you a EMERGENCY WORD TO SCREAM OUT IF YOU ARE EVER IN DANGER......... (note that is something that the national provide does not ask for). THE CONCLUSION: THIS IS A COMPANY TO HIRE. I GIVE THEM A+++++. THEIR LOCAL HOME GROWN APPROACH IS PERSONAL... THEIR PEOPLE ARE RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO FAMILIES IN MODESTO, CA And, what I found out is customers stay with them for years. The little extra you pay, is well worth the initial cost and monthly service charge to have PEACE OF MIND.... Hope this helps... PS THE NATIONAL COMPETITOR VIVINT--- NOTE--- MODESTO RESIDENTS --- SUGGEST YOU NEVER HIRE VIVINT....After having a three year contract with VIVINT which was a nightmare because a) I never felt safe 2) when I had problems with home devices too many different service people came out--- never the same person, most on contract not employment terms, most with completely different opinions and most asking me to install more sensors and devices "to make a buck"---- then worst of all for three years that company could not even get the names of my emergency contacts and their phone numbers correct, the alarm barely made noise and it took a 1.5 year to finally get someone at corporate to help. Plus, when I did have an emergency the contracted security company came out THREE HOURS LATER after the emergency had happened. Here's the bottom line. These guys are the best out there. I have had two other alarm companies and just switched to intellegaurd. The installers completely fixed or redid all the the shotty work that the other alarm companies did.
