I ask to cancel on day 2 and the office says sorry they don't do 3 day cancellations. I dont get an install scheduled in the first place so have no cameras at all installed but they billed me for the full price for almost a year while I fought them. ADT said sorry they can't do anything cause it's the dealer and the dealer said sorry take it up with ADT. Left multiple BBB reviews with ADT directly before they finally intervened and refunded me only 3 months of the almost year I paid for a system that was never installed.

When I saw Direct Protection there was none of the carrot dangling incentives. Got my interest. Called and talked to Rick, owner operated, family run and LOCAL. We met just a couple days later and this company hands down was going to be my provider. Rick was on time, respectful and most important knew his equipment and what i needed to protect my home! In a couple days my new system was in place. Rick even came out and changed door locks as they werent the safest. I would without hesitation recommend Rick's direct protection company. Rates competitive, no phoney gimmicks, and customer service OFF THE CHARTS!! Thanks Rick I sleep much better now! Diane G

We had an issue with our alarm from early morning(4am) text messages that went out to my wife and I, as well as everyone on our emergency contact list. The text says something like Trbl zone 209....looking into it, it seems we have a zone fault: most likely a dead battery on one of our sensors. So I obviously call ABS and find out that Doug has sold the company. The new company cannot find my account anywhere after multiple calls. I finally tell them that I am an ABS customer for more than 20 years and from what I heard Doug sold the company, all the sudden they know what file to look under. I am promised a callback. This happens five different times after complaints. I finally really do get a call back promise. That never happened. I called back again and complain and say this is the fifth time I've called the lady apologizes and says somebody will call me back and tells me that they are looking into my alarm and when they come out I will need to sign a three-year contract to fix the problem. I have been a customer with you for probably close to 30 years so that is the dumbest thing you could tell me, that statement alone lost my business. If you want to come out and fix a two dollar battery on a sensor and make me sign a three-year contract I will now look for a new monitoring company. You should've spent the two dollars and I would've been a customer for another 30 years your loss.

I was a customer with this company until switching providers in March 2025. I followed every…read morerequired step to properly cancel my services: I paid off my equipment, canceled through their third-party account lender, and my new provider even submitted a cancellation letter on my behalf. After completing all of this, I reasonably believed my account was closed. That assumption changed when I was contacted about an unpaid balance after fraud was discovered on my card. When I called to investigate, I was informed that this company had continued charging me for monitoring services the entire time--even though the equipment they were supposedly monitoring had been offline since cancellation. At no point did they contact me to question this. The first representative I spoke with, Leah or Aliyah, was helpful and confirmed that my service had been canceled and that I should be receiving a refund of over $250 . However, after being transferred to the billing department, the experience deteriorated significantly. The billing representative was rude, repeatedly cut me off, and ignored what I was saying. I have now been on hold for over an hour and forty minute waiting for this issue to be resolved. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, as well as contacting a lawyer.
