As a lifelong lover of both art & horror, I couldn't resist attending an Art of The Living Dead art…read moreshow in my neighborhood for Halloween! So much talent but one piece immediately caught my eye, and from the moment I saw it, I knew it was coming home with me! The painting's composition is absolutely mesmerizing. I might be a little biased since teal is one of my favorite colors--but the way Boris uses it here is just perfect. Boris' use of teal to outline the zombie's hair and body creates a striking contrast against the more subdued tones of the piece. This teal is rich yet ethereal, giving the figure an almost otherworldly presence--like a spectral being suspended between life and death. It feels like the subject exists in both worlds at once, capturing that perfect eerie beauty that defines this genre of art. Equally impressive is the background. The black-and-white contrast feels both simple and complex at once, complementing the figure perfectly. There's something about how it pops against both a black and white wall--it's like the piece takes on a life of its own, shifting and changing with the light. The high-contrast backdrop lets the figure breathe and stand out without ever feeling overwhelming. But what really sets this piece apart are the glowing yellow eyes. They draw you in immediately--at first, they seem almost surreal, like they have an inner light of their own. In natural daylight, the eyes have a subtle, almost hypnotic glow, but when I light candles in the room, the effect is even more striking. The eyes seem to flicker with an eerie intensity that perfectly matches the dark mood of the painting. It's rare to find a piece of art that evolves with the time of day and the light in the room, but this one does, offering something new every time I look at it. I love Boris' work so much that I've already put down a deposit for another piece, and I can't say enough about how amazing the process has been. Boris has kept me in the loop every step of the way, making sure I have the opportunity to give feedback and request any changes before the piece is finalized and fully paid for. It's a rare experience to work with an artist who truly values collaboration and ensures that you're as excited about the final piece as they are. This painting isn't just something you hang on your wall--it becomes a part of your space, a presence that shifts with the light and always keeps you engaged. It's rare to find a work that feels alive in that way, and that's exactly what this piece does. I can't wait to see what the next one brings, but for now, this one is absolutely priceless.

Wanted to give my parents something special for Christmas after having to put their (our) dog yogi…read moredown. Found Boris on Facebook through a mutual friend. From the moment I contacted him this process to get this beautiful dog portrait done was quick and seamless. Came out absolutely perfect. Captured our beautiful Yogi Bear. Highly recommend. What an amazing talent he has.
