If only I could go back in time and NOT use this company. I paid A LOT of money for late delivery (really, months late); absolutely no updates (I had to call them more than once); and rude treatment. I used IM because they had installed other window treatments in a residence I purchased. In retrospect, I should have used the Shade Store where I have had a good experience in the past. Ultimately, the window treatments were fine, but the process was quite unpleasant. Feedback to Shivani: If selling shades is beneath you, perhaps you are in the wrong business. When you weren't MIA, you were uncommunicative, curt, and unconcerned. read more

We had a very good experience working with Interior Motif, from the first time we visited the store to get initial estimates for customized closets for our new home (a condo unit in a high rise) all the way through to successful installation. The staff was accessible, good with follow through, funny, and very helpful: when they came to do the closet measurements they also helped us with a temporary fix after one of the closet racks from when we moved in had collapsed. The staff person gave us good details on how to maximize space in two crowded closets and led us to have much better organization in our new home. The scheduled installation day took a few weeks before actual installation due to it being a busy season. Still, the closets were completed a couple of weeks earlier than Interior Motif's initial time estimate, which made us happy. We will return here for future closet work and recommend it for others. read more

I wish there was an option to give Interior Motif a 0 / 5. I wouldn't recommend this company, if it was the only option available. I would have preferred to live in my home without shades than pay the amount of money I did, to be treated poorly and have a horrendous experience from the moment I gave the initial deposit. Prior to giving the deposit, I received frequent emails and updates from our salesperson, but from the moment I gave them the 50% Deposit, it was essentially radio silence. This was one of the worst customer experiences I have encountered; from showing up with missing and mismeasured shades, shades that did not work, incorrect lead times by over a month, and most importantly a lack-of / non-existent communication. When I spoke with the manager it was made to seem like the situation wasn't that big of a deal and Interior Motif did nothing to better the situation. As someone who works in a sales / customer service role, I'm not quite sure how this place stays in business. I would highly recommend staying away, unless you want a six-month headache. The only time you will hear from them, is when it is time to collect payment. read more

I had a really bad experience with Interior Motiff/ The Shade Store. The first time I ordered thru Interior Motiff everything was great, so much that I needed other blinds and I ordered again from them, but the second experience with the Shade Store has been terrible. The shades took a while to be ready but when they were finally installed, after the guy left, I realized 2 of the blinds were incorrect, there were not what i wanted. I immediately notified the store in writing and thru a phone call and I was told they were going to look into it, then 3 days after installation, the cord on one of the blinds broke, and I notified the store again, and was told to send a picture and they were going to look into it. After a couple of weeks, the cord on another one of the new blinds snapped while I was trying to open it. I called and emailed and was told to send pictures and they were going to look into. It's been a year of calling, emailing, stopping at the store and all I ever get is "we will look into it and we will send someone to fix the broken cord", but nothing has happened. The blinds move out of place constantly and I cannot pull them up because the cord is broken. I've been very patient, but this is ridiculous. I will never recommend this store again and I will never buy anything else from them ever again. read more

Oh boy was told I would get a call from the 'consultant' Shivana, which I did but now wished I had not. If you want to be totally ignored and run over with her responses before you finish a sentence then definitely call. There is no way you can respond no matter what you say it's like when you say something it's a trigger and she starts yapping. I have been in Sales my entire life and the first lesson is 'listen to the customer' - I guess she missed that one and several other obvious lessons. You can't SELL if you are talking. Period. I have not encountered a more egotistical ignorant person in years. How do the owners not have a clue how she treats their customers??? Who hired this person? Run for the hills and don't call as there are several other companies locally that have graciously responded in a pleasant manner. read more

I own a small 635 sq ft condo with six windows. It has excellent light when all the blinds are raised and makes it look much bigger when you have the outdoor view coming inside. The drag of having manual blinds that I had to open each time (again, five windows!!) meant that I rarely USED my windows and had the blinds up. I worked with interior motif to get Hunter Douglas Power Blinds. I wake up in the morning, and with one click of the button from the "pebble" (a remote control from HD), sunshine streams into my condo. I worked with Stephan, the owner, who came out - did a survey, we talked about using a lighter dimness level for my living room / kitchen and a darker (blackout) shade in my bedroom. I love the fact that at night my room is COMPLETELY DARK - which is nice for Hoboken, since street lights used to keep me up at night with my old blinds. Now when I wake up in my bedroom, I click the remote, and it is "good morning sunshine!" No complaints at all. I won't lie, there is a cost to having motorized HD power blinds. They aren't cheap. But I love having the remote control, and being able to sit at my couch and if it is too bright, I can easily raise and lower each individual shade without having to get up. Plus, they add value to my condo - people come in and see the shades all rise up in unison, they are always impressed. Big thumbs up to Interior Motif and Stephan. Highly recommended. read more

Michele at interior motif was excellent in helping me with my Hunter Douglas shade. Highly recommend them. Great sales / service.

I have purchased many blinds and shades from Interior Motif over the past twenty years. It's always been a pleasure to work with Stephan, the owner. He is knowledgeable and helpful, and extremely nice. It's not just Stephan though, who makes working with Interior Motif so easy. I recently needed a repair and Suzanne was instrumental in getting the ball rolling. Just like Stephan, she is competent, knowledgeable and very amiable. She follows through so you have every confidence that your problem will be resolved. I have also recently worked with MJ. She too is incredibly committed to resolving your issue. She follows up with emails and phone calls, and lets you know where the process stands every step of the way. She gives 110%, is easy to work with, and is also very funny! I always end up laughing during our calls. I can't recommend Interior Motif highly enough. This is a business that values its customers. It's clear that the employees are a select group who have been hired because of their dedication, thoroughness, and competence. read more

I emailed to schedule an appt and they got back to me within 24 hours. I met with Shivani a few days later and was so pleased with her professionalism, knowledge and suggestions. I ordered the shades for my office that day and this past Saturday Juan arrived to install. He was so pleasant and within an hour I had an amazing new look to my office with great looking Hunter Douglas shades. Juan took a lot of pride in his installation which I could tell just watching him. I will definitely use their services again. read more

I will never call again this company. I purchase HD Duette Vertiglide less than 10 years ago which was not cheap and the receptionist who picked up the phone, Michelle was less than professional. She was not willing to look up my account and was very rude. It was like I was bothering her to help me. Generally in a small business you do what it takes to make the customer welcome and appreciated and she did not. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. read more

I am VERY happy with the service I received from Shivani at Interior Motif. I needed custom blinds when I moved into a pre-war building with oddly shaped windows. I also have beautiful views of the city that I wanted to look out at without having other people look back out at me. Shivani helped me choose blinds that changed color during the day. In the morning they are light so I can see out (but no one else can see in) and at night they become solid and opaque. She also helped me choose blinds for small rooms that would add to the décor without cluttering the space. These blinds are top notch and completely transformed the rooms. Even my landlord, who I had previously had a contentious relationship with, is now nicer to me since stopping by my apt to fix something and seeing how pretty I made the windows look. read more

Awesome service had project 1 of 2 installed and completed. We had a great experience from start to finish. Initially meeting with Stephan who helped us select the blinds and closet and built in within our budget and requirements. The installer came into my condo, told me the process and steps etc, and very importantly punctual. Did a quick and efficient job installing my new blinds. Kept my place really tidy. Next project is the closet which I hope will be as easy and straight forwards as the blind install. Was a pleasure doing business with Interior Motif. Thank you so much read more

bought from them late 2019. They did custom closets and windows treatments for us. Good and accurate execution. Timely and professional delivery. We were very happy out of the gates. What prompt me to write this review is their service going forward. When we had minor issues with the curtains (my very young kids used it wrong...) they came over and just quickly fixed it. then we asked for extra shelves and they quickly manufactured them and refused to get paid for it. They are a very professional services provider but also they also give an amazing service and go far and beyond, even 1.5 years after. Highly recommended !!! read more

My boyfriend and I just purchased a new condo in Jersey City and worked with Interior Motif to install a customized walk-in closet for the Master Bedroom. Ariel was so helpful and experienced, and truly made the customization process a breeze (and fun as well - I loved seeing the virtual simulation of our ideas come to life right in the store!) The finished product was beautiful, especially the new vanity with LED light above that I can't wait to get in and use! I'll do my best to post a few pictures following this review. Overall, would definitely recommend interior motif if you're looking for a top quality job! :) read more

Amazing and great to work with and cannot say enough about Stephan, Ariel, and their teams! We have been a client for over 5 years. They first installed our Hunter Douglas blinds back in 2014. Although Hunter Douglas has had issues we cannot say enough about the service that Interior Motif has given us in support. Due to this, we have also used them for our built-in closet. It is nice to have a local blind and cabinet shop, here in Hoboken, we can turn to for support and know we will be taken care of and are not just another customer. read more

I guess they don't want my business anymore. Back in 2012, we got blinds for our apartment here. They did a good job, but it wasn't cheap. The blinds are all still looking good, so popped in to ask about drapery. I brought in all my measurements and told the receptionist the type of drapes I wanted. I told her I was looking for further info and a quote. She was very friendly and let me know that the sales person (Shevani?) would get back to me. She was due into the store in an hour or so. No one called that day, so I waited a few days and called. The lady on the phone was nice enough, but she wanted to take down all my information again and/or schedule an in-home visit. Annoyed that I had already given over all the information, I just asked for the sales person to call me back. The lady on the phone said she would call me back in the AM. I'm still waiting to be called back. read more

I got my closets done here, and I couldn't be more happy. From initial planning of customizing my closets to the completion, the process couldn't be more streamlined. My neighbor recommended Interior Motif for my window treatments needs and I'm so happy he did! I was looking to purchase Hunter Douglas silhouettes. Stephan the owner of Interior Motif, came to measure our windows. He provided excellent advice and seemed to fully understand the look we were trying to achieve, at a reasonable cost. We received the treatments timely as promised and couldn't be more satisfied. The shades look great, they were perfectly fitted. The guys that did the installation were very professional. Overall, an A+ experience. We will definitely use Interior Motif on our next project! read more

Great service and a great product! I had three Hunter Douglas honeycomb blinds installed for my front bay windows in Hoboken and am extremely happy with the end result. The team at Interior Motif was very helpful and both the measuring for the blinds and final installation went very smoothly. The fit is great and product is top notch. Every time I called or e-mailed Interior Motif, someone was able to help me and get me the answers to my questions. Everyone has to be patient and understanding during Covid so you are not going to get your window treatments overnight, but everyone at Interior Motif and Hunter Douglas are doing the best that they can. Highly recommend this business! read more

Interior Motif - Shades & Blinds Near Me - Hoboken, New Jersey

Last month, I found myself in need of blinds. So I traveled to Washington Street, and had one of the most unpleasant shopping experiences of my life. Serena was a very rude and not helpful sales associate, I ended up dealing with her attitude for my entire appointment. Ultimately I overpaid for cheap, awful window treatments, and they don't even hang straight. Thank god for true Yelp reviews, all the other positive reviews must be friends and family of the store. As for a customer, I was shocked. The showroom is extremely cramped and dark, although nicely renovated. I suppose the renovations are reflected in their pricing scheme considering everything is so expensive. In a nutshell: go to Home Depot, save your money (they have the same products for cheaper) and you won't have to go and be insulted by the staff at Interior Motifs. read more

I just got my new Duette Honeycomb shades installed and they make the room so bright. I have a north facing room that gets no sunlight, I always have to turn the light on, even on sunny days and today I didn't. Claire was so helpful and always answered all my questions, this made me feel comfortable about my choice. I highly recommend Interior Motif. read more

very unpleasant experience dealing with them. No communication about missing deadlines (over 6 weeks late) until chased, install measurements were poor such that they had to come back again to install again (took another 2-4 weeks). More interested in collecting balance than making sure customer is happy and taking accountability. Will not do business with them again or recommend them to anyone else. read more

Last spring I was introduced to Stefan at Interior Motif by another very satisfied customer. I had always used ready made blinds but wanted something special and long lasting. Stefan's attention to the layout of my condo, the texture of my walls and the natural light into my apartment was amazing. (I thought the critical questions were how wide and how long!) I ended up getting perfect Hunter Douglas window treatment. Before my order arrived, Interior Motif installed temporary window covering. I didn't expect that. Just an overall A-1 experience from the people in the showroom, the visit to my home and the final installation. I would advise everyone to give Interior Motif a try. I bet you end up with something special. read more

Amazing!!! I cannot say enough good things about this company and the service they provide. We had so much trouble getting a company to come to our house for a custom closet job. When we heard about Interior Motif they came immediately the following weekend and helped to design a custom closet for our nursery. Just had yet another amazing experience with Interior Motif. Working with them is like the energizer bunny. They just keep going and going and going. I accidentally pulled the cord on my Hunter Douglas shades too hard. It snapped. They immediately took my situation to headquarters and got me a replacement shade. And this is no ordinary shade. It's huge. They've done so much for us, answering questions all the time, responding so quickly. We have a home In Vermont that needs treatments and I'm tempted to pay them to make the trip just so I can get the level of service they provide. It's above and beyond, always.
