Went to Sunday Brunch at the 1909 twice this month, with amazing food and service both times. The menu has a great variety of food+drink, would HIGHLY recommend the lump crab benedict and cinnamon monkey bread! Staff was always incredibly attentive and gracious. A gem in Cooperstown!

Our first time here was perfect! I had made reservations for my wife's birthday based on the innovative menu and great wine list. We were not disappointed! She had the duck egg ravioli and I had crispy octopus for appetizers. Then she when will the chilled Seafood Platter for an entree and I went with the rack of lamb. We shared a nice Sauvignon Blank with dinner and topped it off with S'mores Pannacotta and Key Lime Semifreddo. Everything was awesome and the wait staff very attentive.

This is one of my very favorite special occasion, places in town. I've requested it for my birthday dinner, in fact!

Stayed at the Inn so very convenient to have a nice steakhouse downstairs. The room is small. Service was efficient. Our food was very good.

This is a perfect example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. From the outside, the…read morerestaurant is a bit unusual. It's an older house painted red with black trim, featuring a newer deck that, at least when we visited, had no furniture on it. At first glance, you might assume it's a neighborhood sports bar or a casual local hangout. Step inside, however, and you'll find something completely different. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, and inviting, with a classic dining ambiance that makes it feel like a hidden gem tucked away in the neighborhood. We were in Oneonta for Cooperstown All Star Village and were excited to discover this cozy farm-to-table restaurant. The food was excellent, and the setting made for a memorable dining experience. We started with the Crab Puffs, made with empanada dough, crab rangoon filling, and a jalapeño-green onion emulsion. They were creative, flavorful, and a great way to begin the meal. For our entrée, we shared the daily fish special, halibut served with farm-fresh potatoes and carrots. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the fresh ingredients really showcased the farm-to-table concept. The dish was simple, fresh, and delicious. To finish the meal, we shared the Crème Brûlée for dessert. It was outstanding, with a perfectly caramelized sugar crust and a rich, creamy custard that provided the perfect ending to an excellent dinner. Despite the restaurant being packed, we were seated immediately and received excellent service throughout the evening. The staff was attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly. The drink menu was another highlight, offering a solid selection of craft beers, wines, and cocktails. Overall, this was one of the best meals we had during our trip. Great food, excellent service, a cozy atmosphere, and a unique setting make this restaurant well worth seeking out if you're in Oneonta.

We didn't walk up to the front but I heard people were going to sit at the bar. Good draft beer selection and wine and cocktails. Great rotating food menu. I had the bolognese and it was the best I ever had! Focaccia bread was delish! My husband had. A pizza that he said was amazing as well. Prices were a little expensive for small portions but I would definitely go again! You pay for the delicious food and good service! My kids had the shrimp pasta and hanger steak. They both loved their meals too!

And it's not just the creative food, the outstanding wines, or the accommodating service. It's the one thing that all great restaurants have: an absolute commitment to making sure each customer has a fantastic experience. You can serve all the tasty food you want, but without that commitment, you'll always be good and not great. It's something these folks understand. I'm guessing it's also why everyone - and I mean everyone - we saw in the restaurant during our last visit had a big smile on their face. So yeah, we could recommend the outrageously delicious Balkan platter, the innovative pastas, or the proteins with avant garde flavor combinations. We could talk about the deep, rich wines from Croatia and Slovenia. We could muse about the modern surroundings with rustic touches. But all of that is subservient to the main point here: This is a great restaurant operating at the top of its game. It's worth the visit. It's worth a detour. I know - the secret will be out. But these folks deserve it.
