During our Dublin stay we looked for a highly rated restaurant that wasn't going to be too pricy. The 1900 Bar & Restaurant caught my eye because the ratings were so high. I can tell you why they rate so high. Keep in mind I live in Los Angeles, California with a multitude of good restaurants and innovative bars. Furthermore, I dined in Boston and London before landing on Dublin.
The service was top-tier and truly beat any restaurant I could mention for service, a dying industry benefit that is certainly relevant to be sustainable. We had the privilege of Jon Paul helping us with food and drinks. He was personable and enhanced our dining experience. He was a seasoned professional. Even a random waiter made sure all was well.
The prices were "reasonable," if not a steal for the value. The filet mignon was about $23 for an 8 oz (what!!!), and we ordered pea snaps and beans that were super fresh and not over cooked. The presentation was gorgeous as in an art form. Not only did Jon Paul check on us to make sure we were happy, but, Kevin, the man who seemingly has his sights set on an upward trajectory for the 1900 made sure everything was as we expected.
We finished with amazing desserts and that chocolate thing will stay in my dreams. Dining is an experience and our evening was fantastic. The decor is charming too. This was a great find. Well done!!!! read more
