Great atmosphere and food but what really turned a great experience into the greatest experience was the service. Our server Jessica was prompt, polite, and helpful with recommendations and truly made this one of the best evenings we've experienced in quite some time. read more

We've been wanting to try this place out for a while and finally did during Elmhurst Restaurant Week. We had the butternut squash risotto and shrimp and grits - both were excellent. When they first opened, their menu seemed a little too adventurous for us, but we took a look at the full menu yesterday which seems to have changed and it looks great. We will definitely be back. read more

Great atmosphere. Very contemporary environment. Very personable staff. A limited menu but it is geared to seasonal / local product availability. The menu is intended to change four times a year. Nice presentation to plates. Good food at reasonable prices. A positive addition to the Elmhurst restaurant scene. read more

Ambience very nice and cozy overall. Excellent bartender made some very unique and amazing craft cocktails. He knew all about the best. Made cocktail with egg white , bourbon and a few other ingredients. Appetizers good- meatballs and goat cheese. Scallops dinner- not that great. Over cooked . Lamb - ok. Could use some work on dinner quality. Has potential as a good place in easily accessible Elmhurst downtown. Prices for dinner high for what it was- but would go back for drinks and appetizers. read more

Decent food but WAY too expensive for what you get; my dads lunch was like 17 dollars and was a small portion, no meat and not costly to produce, very average. read more

I've been here twice for brunch and both times it's been AMAZING!!! Seriously my go to brunch place! The food is incredible and you can order bottomless mimosas for $13. Both inside and outside provide nice environments. Highly recommend! read more

Being an Elmhurst resident I was excited when this place first opened as it was exactly the new type of restaurant our downtown needed. Unfortunately the thrill is gone and it shows by the empty tables by 8pm. My wife and I gave up on the small never changing menu months ago but still decided to stop in after a dinner out for dessert and drinks before ending our night. Bad decision. We ordered the strawberry crumble skillet which we have had before and loved. Tonight however it was served to us in a mushy soup like substance. We politely sent it back and the waiter agreed something was off and apologized. We would have been fine if that was the end of the bad service. Instead of offering to comp our dessert soup like disaster, the waiter asked us if we would like to try their chocolate cake instead. In our opinion they should have just brought us something and apologized for bringing us out the mess in the first place. We were also asked if we would like to order another round of drinks. At this point once again the waiter had a chance to apologize and offer to comp our drinks or dessert, but did not. Finally I just asked for the bill for our drinks, tipped well (even though I should not have), and we left. I give 151 another 6 months until they are forced to close given they can't even keep a crowd in winter on a Saturday night. read more

My husband and I came here for dinner with friends when they first opened. The restaurant had an amazing atmosphere: a beautiful marriage of both natural and wood elements with modern luxuries. The food was delicious and unique. All the food products that they use are fresh and locally sourced, which added something special to the already homemade feel. 151 Kitchen Bar felt like a small city restaurant and it was exactly what Elmhurst was missing. We were so impressed with everything that we decided to book a small luncheon event here, about 35 people. We were able to choose a set menu for our event based off of their normal menu. We started with a cream of chicken rice soup, which was exquisite. We then had a traditional salad followed by their gunthrop farm chicken thighs, which was served with fingerling potatoes and green beans. For dessert we had a delicious lemon fool. Everything was absolutely wonderful and each course was perfectly timed. The excellent service accompanied by high quality of cooking has me recommending 151 Kitchen Bar for either dinner or a small event. read more

LOVE this place. Great atmosphere in there. Also they have recently opened a few tables outside and opened the doors giving the front room a very open and welcoming feel. Food was great. Ordered a simple french toast at there brunch and was amazing. Brunches Saturday and Sunday and it is a great new place. Service was good. Would recommend 10/10. read more

Wonderful atmosphere, great drinks (I recommend the Punch Card). However, I went to a Sunday brunch with my family, and the service - while courteous - seems to be very disorganized. A portion of the table wanted a "pastry board" that had been offered by the waitress, but they wanted it before the regular food came out, like an appetizer of sorts. Waitress said absolutely, it would come out before the hot food. Our food took forever, and the pastry board didn't come out until *after* everyone received their regular meals! Management was apparently confused when that portion of the table sent the pastry board back, because they had their regular (savory) food already, but luckily it was taken off the bill. Also, when one of the runners gave me my plate, one of my eggs had already broken completely and yolk was all over the plate. So that was disappointing. read more

Halibut,Halibut,Halibut!!!!!!! Trust me eat it. All starters are out of this world. Craft cocktails are spot on. One of the best if not the best spot in Burbs. Keep up the good work 151!!! read more

I first knew there was a problem when I was stuck with a "between meals" menu because the chef needed "time to prep the kitchen." I was never asked for a drink order and was simply given a large Mason jar of water for self service water in a recycled wine bottle glass. For the prices commanded by this restaurant, I never should have had to fill my own glass. I ordered a cheeseburger ($15). First mistake of the evening. The cheese had the consistency and flavor of Cheese Whiz which promptly oozed out of the burger, covering my hand, and subsequently my plate. After asking that the aioli and jam, yes...jam...on a burger, be held, both were on the burger. As I am a Type I diabetic and had already dosed insulin, I had no choice to eat it or face having a hypoglycemic episode while traveling alone in a city hundreds of miles from home. I was then forced to eat it with a fork and knife or risk wearing it. I could not stomach the cold, rock hard fries and so ordered a piece of cake. Again, the insulin was to cover the entire meal but my taste buds and sensibilities told me better than to eat food gone cold. The chef seems to think that the height of culinary excellence in presentation is a smear of dulce de leche on a plate with a piece of mediocre chocolate cake and a small scoop of commercially prepared ice cream. I live looking for and eating at farm to market to table restaurants. This is the worst example of one I have had the misfortune to dine in in my travels across the country. I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment. read more

We had a wonderful experience at One Fifty One. The place is beautiful and the food delicious. I loved the cocktail choices.

Went in for lobster fest and the lobster roll was the best sandwich ever. Staff was super friendly and the kitchen was really fast to get our food out. read more

Delicious food and great atmosphere. Lobster fest was absolutely delicious... Wish it could happen every week.

One friend told me once if the restaurant has a good bouillabaisse on the menu that is good then that a good restaurant. Couple weeks back we tried the bouillabaisse version at One Fifty One kitchen in Elmhurst and it was not only good but also GREAT. We highly recommend this restaurant with friendly staff, great options and pet friendly weather permitting. read more

If you like lobster you're gonna LOVE the lobster rolls!! So worth the visit!! Amazing!!

Bartender was new but helpful and attentive. The trout was decent but nothing to write home about. Concept is cool but needs something........ well worth a try. read more

My girlfriend and I stopped in on Thursday night while I was in Chicago visiting. A friend had recommended the place so we decided to give it a try. We loved the rustic décor and the layout. The menu threw us off a little bit but, we had a SUPER SWEET and KNOWLEDGEABLE server named Michelle. She recommended the house giardiniera (not something we would pick ordinarily) and we were blown away. It was perfect. Michelle recommended I try the Ham and Cheese which was also phenomenal. My friend wanted to play it safe and ordered the cheeseburger, which was also tasty. The food was very good but I must say, the service and attention we received from Michelle was top notch. She was one of the best servers I have ever had. Next time I am in Chicago, I will make it a point to come back and request Michelle as our server. read more

While the ambience is good here and the service is excellent, the kitchen has some problems. The hanger steak was overdone. The beef and spaetzel dish was like the spaetzel had been boiled two days ago then microwaved to serve, making it tough and tasteless. The salmon hush puppies were tasty but several of them had liquid in the center from being underdone. Overall the restaurant will get another chance in the future. read more

Great new addition to Elmhurst. Great downtown vibe. I had the spinach and duck salad, and Venison Pie (both outstanding). Service was great and they have several dishes that I will need to get back to try. Also a great place to watch the Cubs. read more

Horrific. The food might have been good but I will never know because it took 15 minutes to get a knife to cut my steak. They forgot the chicken on my wife's dish and we had to ask for a refill on the water. Not to mention the fact that the manager asked the people on both sides of us how it was going and completely ignored us. read more

the food is great and service was good. i had a really good broccoli and carrot salad. We had a friend who ordered friends but was anticipating the shoe string fries they used to have so they were willing to just take it off the bill and left the fries anyway. Our family made it out to One Fifty One tonight and really enjoyed the experience. Creative menu inspired by the Midwest, plus a great atmosphere and friendly service. I ordered the chicken, my husband had the pork sandwich, and we shared the Brie starter and the cake dessert. Everything was delicious. One Fifty One also has a varied drink menu, again w a Midwest flair. I had a homemade soda and my husband tried a few mixed drinks: Townie and Sassafras. Again, no complaints. We plan to be back soon to explore more of the menu; there is nothing like One Fifty One in Elmhurst and it is such a breath of fresh air to get a break from pizza and Italian! read more

I made reservation on phone. Told the lady "party of 3, birthday celebration, local ladies coming in 1st time, PLEASE SIT US IN FRONT WHERE THERE IS MORE ACTION/FUN/LIVELINESS". She confirmed. We got there for dinner, the hostess walked us over the back corner seat next to a couple with an infant. I told the hostess that I had requested a table up front. She said her reservation did not reflect that. I pointed to a different table a few feet away. She said it's reserved. I told her that I do not believe that people actually call and specify which table they want. She brought over manager. He was indifferent but did allow us to sit at the table I had pointed out a few feet away. Food was very good. Service was slow due to no fault of staff. Place was busy and they were way understaffed. Our server Josh and busboy Kendrick were absolute sweethearts. Manger and hostess were awful. Manger should have apologized and offered that we sit at the bar with a drink on the house while we wait for a table to become available up front. Or perhaps comp the desert we ordered for my friends bday? It really did put a damper on the night. I doubt I will go back. read more

I have been twice & the first time I loved the atmosphere, music, food & general overall-vibe. My second visit...not so much. That is mostly based on our server - my friend asked for coffee at 9:45pm & was told "sorry, we just dumped out the last pot." She told us that the kitchen was closed, yet we saw plates coming out 40 minutes later. I just checked their website for hours, which states that they are open until 10:30pm on a Thursday night. The homepage also boasts "REFINED SERVICE" in huge font, ah ha ha!! read more

This review is for their brunch, which was very tasty! We each had a morning cocktail (delicious) followed by the chicken biscuit and the farmers breakfast with a side of duck bacon. The highlights were definitely the bacon, potatoes and the biscuit. All were amazing. Pickles on a biscuit egg sandwich? I never would have thought!! We will be back. Very good and awesome atmosphere. We also didn't think the prices were bad, as it's clear they're attempting to be a city type restaurant in the suburbs. read more

Very expensive place, with a low to average food. Decoration and style is nice, service is ok. I have been there twice but I am not sure if am going to try another visit. All this local raw material philosophy raised the expectations but they were not fulfilled. read more

I never write reviews, but think this one is worth it. I had a terrific experience and meal here! For sure, this place is worth the visit. I sat at the bar. The bartender was fabulous. He made me custom drinks and was engaging without being overly attentive. He recommended the burger, which was truly second to none. I'm fussy about burgers. I've sent back many in my life for being improperly cooked and this one was fabulous. It was perfectly cooked rare to medium rare. I'm of the opinion that the quality of meat makes a burger. You can't cover up poor meat quality with condiments. Again, this burger was perfect on that criteria too. They substituted a special salad for me without even an extra charge, even though i explicitly said they should charge me extra for the special request. The kitchen staff came out and made sure my meal was perfect. My only disappointment is that I don't live near there. So I won't likely be able to make it back for a second visit. The squash panna cotta was super tasty too. I'm surprised at some of the other reviews. One reviewer complained that after splitting a salad, THREE ways, the portion was too small. My thoughts are.... don't split a starter salad between 3 people. If big portions are your thing... I would advise go to the Cheesecake Factory where American portions are found in epic proportions. Other reviewers seem like they don't understand food. Beef tartar doesn't come with chunks of egg. The egg is raw and gets mixed in so it won't be obvious.... and blood oranges aren't in season in the summer. read more

The service here was horrible. We waited at least 10 min for our server to greet us (the restaurant was nearly empty), waited over an hour for food that was average (definitely nothing special), and the prices were high. There's not much to choose from on the menu, and the service was so bad that my brother had to go to the bar to get his drink because the server hadn't gotten it. Will not be returning read more

This is a great find in downtown Elmhurst. I wish there were more places like it! We had good cocktails and great food. My husband raved about the chicken and I loved the mushrooms over squash grits. The giardanera appetizer was delicious! We'll definitely be back! read more

I think 3.5 stars is more appropriate. Went there this evening with 3 other couples so there was a lot of plate sharing. I had the Townie- tasty enough cocktail. All the appetizers were really tasty. We had the bread, the mouse, the Brie and the tartare. I would say these were very good. The menu is small, but typical for a farm to table place. I ordered the trout. It's a skin on fillet. The skin was crispy and the fillet was tender and juicy. However the rest of the dish, while not bad, just didn't come together for me. My husband got the fried tenderloin sandwich. Again, not bad, but not awesome. Fried on a bun is kind of redundant carb loading. Two friends ordered the spare ribs and commented that, while well seasoned, it was a little too fatty to have to pick through. Carrot salad had a strong curry dressing. Ok, but I didn't bring home the left overs. Dessert: Our table Ordered the cake and the mouse. The cake is small, cupcake size. But the desserts are very good. So, the place is good, not awesome. The main dishes need some tweaking. I would go back if people were meeting here but I probably won't drive from the far west suburbs to seek it out. Service: courteous and competent. Ambiance: loud. There were no kids in there on this Saturday night around 6 but you could bring them (but I don't think they have a kids menu). Reservation; I easily got a table for 8 on a Saturday night at 6pm the day before, not sure if that say anything Do hope they improve the mains, Elmhurst needs this place. read more

First time here and had great experience. The ham and cheese sandwich is excellent. Great sauce and huge portion. The hamburger was soooo juicy!!!!! Yum. Definitely get the carrot side dish- served chilled and had an amazing seasoning to it. They make their own organic sodas - real interesting flavors and worth a try. Great service and beautiful atmosphere. Will definitely come back read more

This is another restaurant that opened in Elmhurst trying to make splash another expensive restaurant with horrible service. The hostess seated us outside at a table she said someone will be with you shortly on a hot summer day no one brought out water or a menu so I went inside and asked for water and where are server was she said they will be out shortly. After another 10 minutes no water or menus WE WALKED to another restaurant over the railroad tracks excellent restaurant had a bowl of fresh hot bread and butter within minutes with olive oil, we still would have been setting waiting for water. well mismanaged no clue of how the restaurant runs and turns a profit read more

Delicious and great customer service!! A little loud but very cute and trendy. Great for date night or girls night!!

Went for Father's Day brunch with 8 people. We waited 1.5 hours for the food to be brought to the table. Furthermore, one of the people ordered a burger and it came out without a burger patty. The food was actually very good, but the service was terrible. The only good thing was they did pick up most of the bill and gave us a $50 gift card for another time. read more

Kids ordered cheeseburgers off the kid menu. The burger was like a rubber puck on a stale bun. I ordered fried chicken sandwich that was decent minus the stale bun. Wife ordered soup-which was highlight of the meal. Work on your kid menu or don't offer the menu at all. Had pleasant experience last time we were here with quality burger and delicious chicken thighs. I'll give the place another chance but they need to improve on the freshness of all ingredients. read more
