This is one of my favorite places ever! I have been back several times since I moved to the neighborhood because it's so good. It's fairly priced with some really unique food offerings compared to the rest of Chicago. The acai bowls are really good - they have a lot of fruit and the acai is nice and thick. The coffee is smooth and there are a lot of options. I've had cold brew and a latte and both were fantastic. The arepas are soooo good! I never had an arepa before this, but I can't stop returning for more! They are surprisingly filling and they have so many options I would never get bored. read more

Consistently amazing food, coffee, and friendly workers. I love the caribbean coffee and the venezia arepa sandwich but want to keep going to try them all! read more

We were visiting Chicago and while walking to catch the metro we stopped in here for breakfast and it was such a wonderful surprise! I got a breakfast arepa with cheese, egg, beef, bacon, avocado and a bbq sauce. It was exactly what I needed for a mild hangover, but would have loved it anyways. Definitely make a stop in here if you can! read more

I think I've finally figured out the arepa's true calling, and it is the breakfast sandwich. Hear me out -- the crisp shell and tender interior are perfect to house a mess of eggs and fixings, because the shell can give the whole thing structure that a biscuit lacks, but without the dense inedibility of a good bagel. And the breakfast application solves the biggest problem with an arepa, which is that one is not enough for lunch but two is way too many. One arepa stuffed with eggs is a good, filling, traveling breakfast and frankly the best breakfast sandwich I have had in a very very long time. read more

These are my favorite Arepas in the city. I always get the Santa Monica. The cheese, sausage, and bacon with the chive sauce is delicious. I'm sure the other kinds are great too. read more

This is one of my favorite places to treat myself to something super tasty. I crave these arepas! In fact when I had my child at Illinois Masonic last year, my husband asked what he could bring me and boy! The white sand arepa hits the spot every time. I'm moving now out of state and I have visited here over and over again for my fix. Sure going to miss this place. I recommend it to anyone who asks me of a new place to try. Keep up the good work guys n gals! read more

Great little cafe with tons on the menu! I settled on an arepa with grilled Caribbean cheese, avocado, and tomato. It was so hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious! Nice coffee too. Highly recommend, and I can't wait to try more arepas! read more

This is my favorite Arepas place. If you are looking for the real taste of a Venezuelan Arepa and a nice cup of coffee... or even better a cocada or chicha, friends, this is the right place. Owners and staff are EXTREMELY kind, nice and friendly. You gotta try my favorite arepa: La Pelua. That's just heaven! read more

This place is great! The Caribbean Iced Coffee is legit, the Arepas are soooooo fricken good and they have great tunes playing every time I go in there! read more

Fantastic coffee with many options (drip, lattes, cappuccinos, cold brew, specialty flavors, teas, etc....). The food is also great. I had a scone (believe they get baked good from west town bakery) and an arepa. The arepa (they have about 20 varieties) was as good as the ones I had in Colombia. Definitely plan to come back and try to açaí/matcha bowls. read more

The food is amazing. It's so hard to find a gluten-free restaurant. Arepas are fantastic. Get the White Sand sandwich. love the atmos

No complaints! Yummy. Fast delivery and probably my new favorite coffee concoction, Latin fire. Lots of gluten free options.

This place is the bomb!! Their arepas are to die for! I usually don't eat Colombian food, but 11 Degrees North certainly did not disappoint. I came back a second and third time in a short period of time because I couldn't get enough. Great iced coffee too! Recommend! read more

Easy to walk by, but don't. Comfortable atmosphere and seriously one of the BEST breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. The Porkie was loaded up, well worth the price, and the biscuit was fantastic. Treat yourself and grab a quick breakfast here! read more

Stopped by Sunday around 11am and it was nice to see it was busy, but still a couple tables left. It def had a nice and warm vibe. My only qualm was that their large chalkboard menu of drinks and food is a bit hard to read and very spread out. I should have asked for a handheld menu. I was looking for some options I saw prior online, but did not find them there. I went with the la pelua arepa and my friend had the veggie bowl. Our orders came out pretty quickly. That arepa was one of the tastiest things I've had in a long time. Everything came together so well, and the shredded gouda was yummy. The size was also very satisfying and they definitely stuff that thing to the max. The veggie bowl looked super fresh and tasty as well. Service was good - quick and friendly. I definitely want to come back and try more items. read more

Friendly people, good food, gluten-free / vegan options -- overall wonderful experience every time I eat here!

I hate leaving any review under 4 stars, but I was very underwhelmed with my experience. None of their signature drinks can be made vegan, which I find to be strange as there are many foods items that cater to specific dietary preferences. I paid $5 for a Chai Latte, and it was way too sweet for my taste. My favorite thing about a chai latte is the kick from the spices, but this one lacked any real chai flavor. It seems that many people like this coffee shop, so I think you should give it a chance if you're in the area. I most likely wont return. read more

Go for the clean, tasty and healthy arepas. They are perfection. We loved the flavors. I will say, the girl behind the counter had no clue on a few basic questions and initially, the other woman was rather vague as well. We got past this and enjoyed our treats. The lady serving our hot, freshly made arepas was so sweet. There is love in the making of these lovely cornmeal delights. The booch on tap is GTs, not my fav. read more

I love this place, I've been a few times and the staff is friendly, the arepas are great and the smoothies are delicious. If you're thinking about stopping by, just do it and ask the staff for a recommendation if you don't know what to get. There's also free wifi, so if you pop in on a weekday you can get a good spot to work for a while. The musics a bit loud, so just bring headphones and it's fine. Great place! read more

WOW! I never heard of this place until the cashier at the local pet supply store told me about it after I had a bad experience with my breakfast sandwich order at the cafe down the street -- so random, I know. I got La Pelua Sandwich (shredded beef, fried plantains, smoked gouda), Eggie Biscuit Sandwich (egg, avocado, tomato, spring mix on a biscuit), and the Caribbean Iced Coffee (Espresso, cream of coconut, caramel, cinnamon and coconut milk) and ordered it for delivery. I probably inhaled the whole order within 5 minutes of delivery all while my dog drooled on my lap. The La Pelua Sandwich was incredible. The shredded beef was so juicy and well seasoned. The only way I could love this sandwich even more is if they put a bit more fried plantains in it.. I'd definitely ask for this next time I ordered it in the restaurant. The pelua sandwich was so good that following it up with the eggie sandwich was a bit anticlimactic (ha, yes, two sandwiches in one sitting. I was starving!) Next time, I'd probably order the cheese biscuit sandwich as the eggie sandwich itself was a bit bland. Nevertheless, it was delicious and I ate the whole thing. Lastly, you must get the caribbean iced coffee. It was perfectly sweet and addicting to eat it with the savory sandwiches. This will definitely become my go to order! I can't believe I never heard of the place until today, but I think I found my new favorite delivery place! read more

I absolutely love the atmosphere and food and drinks! This cafe always smells amazing and makes delicious coffee. I enjoy working remote here and very much love to support Latin and small businesses in Lakeview. read more

I just moved to the neighborhood and was thrilled that there was a place that offered arepas! Today, I finally managed to make my way over there to pick up something for a late breakfast and omg, it was so good. I ordered the "Santa Monica" and it was amazing! The crispness of the arepa was on point and it was the perfect size for all the delicious insides. I'm excited to go back in the near future and try some of the others. nom nom nom. read more

Such a delicious place!! The prices are reasonable and the food is killer. I got the tropical arepa, a dirty chai, and the lime and unrefined sugarcane drink. All exceeded my expectations. read more

Came here on a whim on a cold, rainy day and so sad I haven't been to this cafe earlier! I've been looking for a delicious arepas place and this place definitely fits the bill. They also serve an array of different coffees and libations. It's a good place to do casual work since the place is relatively quiet, has good WiFi and lively pop music. Every arepa and bowl I've had have been amazing. The arepa adds the perfect light crunch to every sandwich. My faves are the Havana, which is pork and egg based drizzled with aioli and the La Pelua, which is shredded beef, plantains drizzled with a garlic cilantro sauce. The protein is always so flavorful and succulent. All the arepas are gluten free, and there are many vegetarian options so perfect for those who have specific dietary needs! read more

Fantastic. Large variety of arepas and coffee/other drinks. I love the cheesie biscuit sandwich and the 2020 bagel sandwich. Great place to pick up and take home to eat. Beachy ambiance. Pretty loud in there from the coffee and smoothie machines. One of my favorite quick breakfast spots. Very unique. read more

First time to visit, due to reviews on yelp and you can count on two more people who would recommend this place. Have driven by this area several times and never noticed this cafe/sandwich shop but boy, it did not disappoint. Thanks to fellow yelpers for the ratings. Ordered two sandwiches -havana and la pelua. It was just the right size that doesn't necessarily make you too full...the meat, oh the meat...you can tell the freshness of the meat and they dont skimp either. Very flavorful and tender. Will definitely come back and taste the other flavors of their arepas. Hidden gem in Belmont! Overall, read more

Excellent arepas and even better for those of us with celiac, gluten free. I love the Santa Monica.

This place is amazing! The Havana is quite possibly the best sandwich I've ever eaten. They have tons of gluten free (friendly) options and their latte's are delicious as well. If you like flavor and haven't ordered from here yet, do yourself a favor and go for it! read more

Wow. I randomly ordered for delivery because I was craving a gluten-free breakfast sandwich. I've been blown away. This may be my new favorite breakfast to-go restaurant. I got the Santa Monica Sandwich, which is egg, sausage, bacon and cheese - delish! I'm not familiar with arepas, so nothing to compare, but they were great to me. Can't wait to order again!!! read more

Very tasty all around. Would've liked for the arepas to be a little big bigger/thicker to hold the stuff for better but still, you will not be disappointed. read more

This used to be a coffee joint, which honestly wasn't bad. I'm *much* happier now that it's a full blown cafe! Can't say I've had much bad here - maybe one time the coffee was on the stale side, but that's always a risk when you sleep in - and everything else has been amazing. The arepa sandwiches are really great, and surprisingly large and filling! I also tasted my boyfriend's mocha last weekend and ho-lee cow was it good. Stop in, it's better than the Starbucks across the street :P read more

11 Degrees North Venezuelan arepas are quite deceiving, but in an unexpected way! I went in with a plan - order one arepa along with a cold brew, then walk to another spot for something sweet... Well, it was a good plan, but I didn't expect such a little pocket of heartiness. The girl at the front was friendly and patient with my slow decision making as I read through their numerous arepa combinations. I chose the Bird of Paradise Arepa, I'm a sucker for gouda + avocado mayo, and we also ordered the Island Pork Arepa because fried plantains! The Bird of Paradise was a lovely layer of soft, gouda butteriness and creamy, avocado mayo mixed together with juicy chicken... The Island Pork was tender with a bit of tanginess from the bbq and goat cheese, but well-balanced with the sweet plantains. The red onions gave it a nice crunch, too. 11 Degrees North's beachy vibe is chill and we will certainly be by again to try all the other arepas and menu items! read more

Incredible arepas, food came out hot and fresh, the perfect lunch spot! Wish I lived closer so I could get lunch here everyday

So far Best Arepas in The Chicago area . I'm Venezuelan. . Try Catirota and La Pelua!

That bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich and coconut iced latte saved my life! And by that I mean, it cured my hangover. Amazing.

Omg fresh and healthy and so delicious i work at the furious spoon so I come everyday before work for my venezia and select smoothie. This place is a health haven and what i like most is its not loud and rowdy and its always cozy . read more
