Let's start with the new owner! She wouldn't listen to the customers when they were trying to tell her how horrible the service was. She immediately started yelling and told us to leave. The first table we were seated at was dirty, we asked to be moved. We requested silverware three times or more. There were no refills on water or coffee. No one including the owner asked how's everything or is everything okay. One of us didn't get food until the others were finished because the order wasn't put in. We watched as they rushed and tried to get the order to the table, which was never completed! This new owner doesn't have a clue on how to run a restaurant. Some friends and I attended this restaurant and the service was absolutely horrible. We were first seated at a dirty table but we didn't let that disturb us. The service continuously grew worse. We had to keep asking for silverware. My friend asked for a refill on coffee at least three times. We asked our waitress about some of the food items on the menu and she didn't know what the menu items were, we had to ask her for another waitress to explain some of the menu items. We never received any refills on our drinks. I placed my order late because I was undecided. My friends were finishing up with their meals, so I asked about my meal only to find out that my order was never put in for the cooks to prepare. When I finally received my food, it wasn't what I ordered. I was done at that point. I must add that the restaurant was not busy at all nor short of staff. Not one time did anyone apologize for the terrible service or asked what they could do to make it right. During our time of dining, there may have been three other tables being served. We asked for the manager & we were told there was no manager there and no one was left in charge. Only to find out later that the lady we were talking to was the manager {she lied}. The owner came in and over to our table without an introduction of who she was {we later found out she was the owner}. The owner was totally rude, dismissive, unprofessional & totally disrespectful. I will never step foot in this restaurant again and if anyone ask me about this establishment. I will inform them of our experience HORRIBLE!!! read more

This restaurant just opened in our neighborhood so we decided to give it a try this past Sunday! It was very crowded. There isn't really a hostess area so you just sort of walk in a little lost as to what to do or where to stand, but we were greeted and told it would be a 10 min wait. It was more like 20 mins. At first glance it is pretty plain. There is a counter/bar area and cafeteria type tables and chairs. No real effort really put into decorating but it was clean! They had a live musician playing Jazz in the back of the restaurant and I LOVED that!!! The staff seemed frazzled and unorganized. It appeared to me they had more guests than they were prepared for. So a lot of running around and snatching chairs from one table to another. It just looked frantic! We were sat after about 20 minutes but its Sunday so to me this is normal for any restaurant. We ordered coffee and a Mimosa. The coffee came and we also placed our order with the hostess. I am Pescatarian so I asked for a no meat Eggs benedict and husband got shrimp and grits. Before she left with our order we reminded her that we didn't have cream and sugar for our coffee and still need utensils. She never came back with any of it. So we waved the hostess down again because our waiter never game to greet the table. Keep in mind the coffee is getting cold. She says I am sorry I will get itright now. She never came back with it! A guy came over to say our food would be up soon and he apologized for the wait. We said no prob but we need cream and sugar etc. He bris it back! Coffee cold but finally we can drink. The food comes out and it looks amazing except my eggs benedict has 4 pieces of prosciutto on top and remember I asked for no meat. So it had to go back and because I am not repulsed by meat nor am I picky I said you don't have to recook te dish, just remove the meat off the top because who had time to eait in that already overwhelmed kitchen! So first out the gate the food was amazing! No cheese in the Shrimp and Grits thank God because not everyone like cheesy grits. I think a lot of restaurants use cheese and salt because they cannot cook and season the food! But these were seasoned and were not salty but the flavor and the skills were self-evident in this dish! Sooo good and such a pretty dish as well! The same with the eggs benedict. Flavor overload also NOT salty and the eggs were cooked to perfection! Best benedict flavor ever! Now the bad news. For these two dishes the portions were very small. Unless you are a light eater neither of these would fill you up. There were only 4 shrimp in the shrimp and grits and a whole lot of other stuff like peppers and such for presentation. People wants at least six shrimp and maybe more grits so THAT was a disappointment. I felt like it should have been served with a read option also, The eggs benedict had two very small mini sized biscuits under all that sauce. The biscuit was so good in terms of the flavor and texture but it was not even a regular sized biscuit, so if I got this again I would ask for extra biscuit on the side maybe? It was disappointing, I also had a side of fruit and it was fresh, with berries and not that crap most restaurants throw on your plate. All said it was an okay service experience, but great food. the owners and staff were very friendly and kind. I liked that! I might go back after they get more organized or at a different time when it's not SO busy to try something else. Some of the entrees we saw were much bigger than what we had so we'll see. Then ordered our food, waited an hour just for them to come out and tell us they don't know when they will get our order out to us. The food was just okay for me. Not anything special. The waiter and waitress attended to me as needed and were professional. Personally, the restaurant (location, decor, etc.) does not match the food. The floors are outdated. Same floors that cici's pizza used (use to be located in the same spot). My wife and I visited 101 KITCHEN on 8.3.23 for a late breakfast date to support this family-owned restaurant. Yes, they are very new to Knightdale, but this place felt like it was in the community for years. At first glance, it looks like the typical, plaza style typical place to grab something to eat. Well, once you walk in, it is very clean and airy. The black, white and gray tones showed a different vibe of elegance. Without waiting longer than 2 seconds, we heard, "welcome to 101 Kitchen." Customer service was top-notch as we walked in and asked for a menu. We sat in the middle section of the restaurant to have a view of every angle. I usually don't like to face the kitchen but I wanted to get a view of everything. From the soft lighting to the full circular chandeliers, I knew we were in a special place. Our waiting was kind and considerate. At one point my wife looked over and asked, "is that a stage?" Absolutely it was! The stage was very discreet and had a nice greenery background. We assumed they would have local musicians come in and play while enjoying food. Here comes our food. WOW! WOW! WOW! We were soooooooo impressed! As a visual designer and artist, I'm all about presentation. I was SOOOO IMPRESSED and really only expecting the standard. This place is not a standard place. Not only the presentation of how the food looked, the taste was amazing for the both of us. We kept looking at each other and shaking our heads. We love good places to eat and this will be our spot moving forward. Everything was so delicious and perfectly seasoned. Once we finished, we just sat and talked and took in the surroundings. We had a chance to tell the waiter to let the chef know how we appreciated them and mentioned how we appreciated everything. Prior to getting up, I asked the waiter who was the owner. Rafael is the owner and we felt honored to have the time to talk with him. You can see, hear and feel the passion about his restaurant. Being a business owner is not for everyone and it's never easy for a restaurant owner. We applauded him for his start and hope to see his success. 101 KITCHEN will be a great addition to the Eastern Wake restaurant market. Our minds set on a burger, we stumbled upon 101 Kitchen and ordered their signature 101 Burger to go. I am still thinking about that burger now! I couldn't tell you how the burger was cooked because the accoutrements made it so juicy. The bacon jam added the perfect amount of sweetness to their special sauce. I have to say I had one of the best burritos I've had in a long time. Was seated promptly by a friendly and attentive server and host. Chicken in the burrito was delicious and perfectly cooked. This was our second time dining at 101 Kitchen. Although the food was good the first time, the wait staff was extremely attentive and cordial on our second visit.
