I find out about 101 bakery through a blog post by mylittleedinburgh!!
I came with the full intention of getting a cinnamon roll. Upon arriving, it's a cute little bakery situated on a street with many other small businesses. On the inside, you're immediately greeted by the glass display showing off all of the goodies for the day. Despite how delicious everything looked, I stuck with my intended order of a cinnamon roll. There isn't anywhere to sit inside so anything you order is inherently takeaway. The drink menu is a bit small so I took my cinnamon roll with me to a coffee shop down the street to enjoy it with a hot chocolate.
The cinnamon roll was very soft and not too sweet. I took my time eating it with a fork and it was so good! Actually when I had sat down at the coffee shop, the lady at the counter noticed my box and asked "Is that 101 bakery? They're sooo good."
I returned a couple of weeks later on Halloween and got a cherry mascarpone slice. It was adorned with some cute mascarpone eyeballs for the spooky vibes. I have similar sentiments with this pastry as well since it wasn't too sweet and was very soft. It was a large slice so I had to take two sittings to finish it.
Overall, 101 bakery is such a cute shop with some yummy treats! Definitely worth a try for anyone and their taste buds :) read more
Came here about right when they opened, got the first cinnamon roll of the day. Was asked if I'd like extra frosting and I said yes. No space to eat inside, so I walked about 20 minutes into town before I ate it. Cinnamon roll was very chewy, fresh, not too sweet, but very buttery on the bottom which I wasn't a fan of. For £3, it's a tad expensive but the quality is there. read more
