The strange savory crepe in all its soggy glory. There is some salad under the balsamic vinegar, I promise.

I wanted to like this place but in every way except one, it was a disappointment. We ordered the savory crepes and they were strangely soggy with a few pieces of ingredients slopped on the middle. They were supposed to have sweet chili sauce but only one actually did. They only took part of our order so one member of our party had to wait much longer for her crepe. Hers was undercooked and had even fewer ingredients than the first two. The waitstaff was attentive and charming and were very apologetic when the mistake was noticed, so one star is for them.

Dark chocolate hot cocoa, complete with a peanut butter spoon.

I've had two visits to Coro now, which has accidentally created something that may well be the closest thing to a perfect human experience: The Trio of Activities. First step: seat yourself in the Blue Bear; have brunch. Step two: meander through the Botanics until eyes glaze over from plant saturation. Step three: have CHOCOLATE! Coro is situated right up the road from the Inverleith entrance of the Edinburgh Royal Botanic Garden. It's a moderately spacious little joint that advertises a surprisingly expansive menu, anything from toasties, breakfast, drinks, and, obviously, LOTS of chocolate. Chocolate cakes. Hot chocolates. Chocolate milkshakes. You name it. Both visits in I've been treated to some truly decadent, sometimes even overwhelmingly so, experiences. The first was with espresso-chocolate-milkshake madness, each made with actual in-store chocolate crumbled or melted into the shake. No sir, no powdered stuff here! The second was with my visiting parents. I had a dark chocolate hot chocolate with a peanut butter spoon (omg). My parents had something called a hot-and-cold hot chocolate, which features a scoop of WHITE CHOCOLATE ice cream floating on top. No vanilla here, folks. Let that simmer a moment. Guhhhhhhhh. Be still my sluggishly beating, cardiac-arrest-having heart. Seriously. If you like chocolate, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't regret it. Not only are the offerings deliciously decadent, but the environment is cute, with sayings like "Chocolate always understands" etc. written on the walls, as well as an excellent offering of hand-made chocolate bars available for purchase in store. It's the perfect spot for a quick rest after a wander through the Botanics, especially if you want to couple that with a borderline sinful chocolate experience. Go forth my chocolate minions, and stuff thy gobs!!

    Awsome Cake, really nice Shake

This is chocolate! ...and if you only like chocolate a little bit: This is the place to be. Fondues, Cakes, Waffles, Pancakes, Sandwiches...everything's just delicious!

These pies are a great light lunch or snack when consumed by themselves. Or one can get a variety of them and make it a meal. The pies are made fresh daily and displayed in the glass case at the counter along with other British style fried foods such as Tattie Dogs, Sausage Rolls, etc. There are a variety of the infamous pies offered. We tried a Steak and Ale pie and an Original Scotch Pie with brown sauce packet for the pour over. I enjoyed mine (Scotch Pie) and could've eaten a couple more God willing. Along with an Irn Bru, this was a satisfying and affodable meal. Definitely give this place a try when in the area.

They make perfect snack sized pastries that let you try a variety without getting too full. Compared to other local pasty shops their baked pastries use better ingredients and are better cooked. I love how flaky and golden colored the pasties were. You'll find a variety of traditional pasties here as well as some unique creations worth checking out. My kids loved the hasbrowns wrapped around a sausage so much we ordered an extra one even though they said they weren't hungry before. This is located in a busy area and there are a small amount of seats inside against the window and a small table next to the drinks. There isn't any seating or place to sit outside so I wouldn't plan on eating here.

Second, their team (whose names now I have forgotten which is a shame) are extremely helpful and patient. They know their stuff. I was seated quickly and was given the menu and my eyes...my eyes were bigger than my stomach which is the other shame. My favorite was the Millionaire Shortbread Crepe. I mean come on. That thing was decadent, rich and just enough. That was probably the only dessert I was able to complete. Next, was similar to what we Americans call a pazookie. Nutella everywhere. I should've known that this would be the richest, creamiest and thickest of all. I probably should've ordered water but instead I craved a hot chocolate. I also ordered a hot chocolate which was dark chocolate I believe. Perfect for the cold weather. Unfortunately was stuffed by the time this came out. 10/10 recommend. Service is spectacular, team is friendly and genuinely enjoys being there and desserts, I mean cmon you can tell by the photos. Worth the hype. Worth the money and overall just a good place to hangout after exploring the city.

They have quite a good assortment to choose from and you get served cups and cones, whatever rocks your boat! They also do pancakes and milkshakes, so I will definitely be back! I'd actually walked past this place numerous times in the past few weeks and simply hadn't spotted it - nothing eye catching about it and the interior felt more tacky then vintage. Now I'm fussy about ice-cream (living in Italy for 2years has turned my into a bit of an ice-cream snob) so I wouldn't call this good ice-cream at all. However once blended into a shake with your favourite chocolatey treat - it did taste pretty good! If you're feeling like having a bit of guilty chocolate / sweet junk food - then this is definitely the place to go!
