I know they have another shop in Edinburgh and a few more round Scotland but it's still a relatively small business. It shows. The pasty selection was a bit poor - no chicken, but bacon and cheese?! Go figure. That's what I went for anyway. And, for what it's worth, it was pretty tasty, if a little overpriced at £1.20. The focus seemed to be on Scottish delicacies. I sat at one of the tables and dug into my food as soon as it all arrived! The little cupcake was sweet, moist and very delicious. The chamomile tea was piping hot and exactly what I wanted. I sat at the side of the table that faces the street and got to just relax for a while whilst enjoying my food. From what I remember their menu mostly consists of the cupcakes and hot beverages! The sticky chocolatey ones were indeed sticky & chocolatey with a nice moist sponge, but those lemon & raspberry meringue cakes were possibly the nicest I've had. A proper light sponge, plenty of lemon flavour and the soft meringue topping is sweet without being sickly like buttercream can be. A true superstar of a cake from a lovely store. I'll definitely be popping back here - probably on foot rather than traveling by TARDIS though, mores the pity!
