Food: The food was okay. I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs. It was nice tasting but they don't keep salt and pepper on the tables so it was quite bland. Maybe some red pepper flakes on top? My husband ordered a ciabatta panini roll with chorizo, mozzarella and I think tomatoes. He said it was tasty but the mozzarella was quite watery, making for a watery sandwich. The drinks were phenomenal in my opinion. Husband had a latte with a beautiful presentation, nice and hot, and I had a hot chocolate that was served with tasty whipped cream and marshmallows. It was lovely. Food could've been tastier and a bit hotter
Service:
Horrible service. We walked in and no one greeted us. They have table service but no one standing to show you to a table. It seems random servers from the till bring the food to you if you're sat indoors. We reserved a table because we saw that it can get packed around brunch, and they had the table for us with a card for our name and party, but they definitely didn't care to take our order. It was a bit ghetto having to get up and place an order after sitting down. We finally asked someone up front about our table that we reserved and they pointed and we approached it. No one showed us to our table. It was just very odd and confusing as we saw other first timers coming in and doing the same thing. Simply confusing experience having to walk in and expect to be shown to your table and serviced but not the case. They had a menu on the table and my husband put 2 and 2 together and just got up and ordered the food and paid for it at the til. Not the experience I was expecting. The food came out shortly after. All in all, it was literally a glorified Costa. They'll make you the food and heat it up but you surely shouldn't expect a "cafe/restaurant" like service where you're sat and served properly.
Ambiance:
It was quite loud inside. Like a busy Starbucks. It was cold inside too because the door was constantly being opened. The seating isn't very welcoming in terms of comfort and it's a bit cramped inside. They don't have any music playing like a typical cafe might and it's just an okay atmosphere. Definitely not something memorable or worth sticking around for the atmosphere. It's a deli but appears more like a cafe, however, isn't as welcoming as a deli nor a cafe.
Overall, this place is really hyped up way too much, the food is okay, the atmosphere is just fine and the table service was embarrassing. The best part of this was the hot chocolate for me and the fact that I got to have a nice day with my husband. Luckily he always lets me choose where to eat, lol this place was my choice and probably won't go back. read more
