The same girl asked me to not drink it inside the cafe since the drink was not purchased from them.

Both times I've gone, I was greeted by the friendly staff who did a wonderful job keeping everything in order as it was quite busy. I usually don't opt for hot coffee, but as it was a cold and rainy day, I opted for what I believe was a brown sugar honey latte. For munching, I had the strawberry croissant. The coffee itself was very small in size, but it had great flavor. It was subtle, with the perfect amount of sweetness. The croissant was flaky and the layers of the dough filled crust were incredibly delicious. is it the best coffee I've ever had? Certainly not, but the service and the charm of the cafe make it all well worth It. It truly is a must try spot when visiting Edinburgh. I adored the lime, poppyseed, and blueberry roulade! It was gone before the soup and toastie sandwich arrived. Crispy on the outside and so very soft and tasty on the inside. The cookie pie was impressive, but I honestly liked the roulade so much better. The soup today was broccoli and it was delicious! I had a ham and cheese sandwich lightly grilled in a panini press. Mom had a chorizo sandwich. The ladies at the bakery were lovely! Friendly happy folk always make food taste better! The bakery was quiet and not busy at 12:30 pm. It wasn't empty, just not busy. We got a table for 3! It was funny (and also a sad commentary on humans) that the still water available said "Please turn the tap off." Silly people. Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch! Mom said very good! Very different!

Sourdoughs, ryes, and classic bloomers. The staff have always been friendly and happy to talk through their breads. They don't always have huge quantities so if it's late in the day it might be slim pickings, but it's worth a check if your passing by. It's also a nice little cafe selling soups/salads/sandwiches and cakes. I've only ever had their bread but I'd consider it for a bite to eat if I was in the area. It doesn't take card unfortunately which is a shame as I rarely have cash. It's not the cheapest loaf but it seems in line with most artisanal bakeries. I think it's worth it and any time I've gotten bread here it has been rather quickly polished off.

Kelly's bakery is my saviour for these kind of days. Not only do I pass it on my way to work - so no further delays - but I can also get a breakfast butty, a filled roll for my lunch, a sweet treat (for the extra Thursday-ish Thursdays) and still have change from a fiver! My personal favourite is the chicken mayo salad roll - filled to the brim, there's greenery in there so it's obviously healthy, freshly made and only £1.40.
