For my 100th Yelp review, I wanted three things: 1) something unique & unusual (that nobody else had thought to review), 2) something that I could easily give 5 stars, 3) something that would be a great value & benefit other yelpers. Bingo! A light went off in my head! (metaphorically speaking, of course) I'd bought rope lights at Home Depot for years in 25' lengths, mostly for outdoor lighting, but when they burned out over time and I'd go back to replace them, HD had a different supplier and the color wasn't "warm white" but a cold, ghastly "artic" white which didn't match all the other rope lights! (Imagine an incandescent light next to a fluorescent and you get the picture!) I've got a 100' long driveway which is very dark at night and the last thing I want is mis-matched lights guiding me home after a night "out-on-the-town"!! Since I struck out w/HD, I turned to Amazon who not only filled my "warm-white" rope light requirement but their supplier turned out to be (drum roll please....) the largest rope light supplier in North America! I got 150' length of rope lights which usually cost $150 - $200 for only $86! S/H INCLUDED! Now that's a deal! Color me a happy camper! Out of concern, I checked my Account and verified I never signed up for any Notifications and in fact there is not a provision to even sign up for text messages. This behavior is in direction violation of their Privacy Policy. I have emailed 1000Bulbs but so far received a very unsatisfactory response that stated: "reply STOP to messages and text will discontinue." Please note that EVERY SECURITY EXPERT advices: NEVER RESPOND. Mark as Spam and Block. Bought a bulk order of PLT high bay fixtures for a 70,000 sq ft commercial facility. The failure rate was systemic - not a few duds, a problem across the batch. What followed was a months-long exercise in vendor evasion that ended with a refund on roughly 65% of the order. The remaining third we absorbed as a loss. Rather than refunding the order and pursuing reimbursement from the manufacturer on their own - which is how a vendor should handle a defective product claim - they insisted on running the warranty process with the manufacturer themselves while we waited, with no refund in the interim. They also required us to pay licensed electricians to uninstall the failed fixtures before any return would be processed - real labor costs to undo their defective product. When we raised reimbursement for that labor, the conversation simply went silent and was never addressed again. They refused to refund any fixture that couldn't be returned in original, unaltered packaging - a standard that's effectively impossible to meet after fixtures have been installed, wired in, and pulled back down from a 25-foot ceiling. The end result: we ate the cost on every fixture we couldn't physically produce in original condition, even though those fixtures failed for the same reason as the ones we could. And on the return paperwork itself, the official return reason was categorized as "Commercial Customer Error - no restock." A documented vendor classification placing the blame for a batch-wide defective product failure on the customer. That single line tells you everything about how this company approaches accountability. The return process closed out with a same-day noon deadline to retrieve two boxes deemed "non-restockable" - boxes of defective fixtures we had already returned because they were defective. Roughly a third of a defective bulk order absorbed as a loss. Uncompensated labor. A return officially blamed on the customer. Every step of the post-sale process designed to push cost, labor, and risk back onto the customer. If you're sourcing at volume for a commercial or institutional facility, strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I bought their recommended 8' LED florescent replacement lamps for a commercial coffee roaster customer. These are for the ceiling fixtures in their warehouse. Using the lamp manufacturer's life rating, in this application (on 10 hours a day) they should have lasted 20 years. The first one failed after 3 months, now 2 more... so one by one they are failing and rather then sending out a better quality replacement at their cost, they are issuing pro-rated credits (sigh). To me this means they do not test the lamps or source high quality products, so beware that failure might be a common experience. Also, prorating the credits is sleezy and means they do not stand behind the items they recommend. Will I buy from them again? Nope! read more

They are a deceitful company. After receiving "plug and play" LED bulbs, I replaced my old T8's with their light. Within 4 hours, their lights burned out my lighting ballasts. Initially, they discussed replacing the light bulbs or offering a replacement. Instead, they changed the wording on their product page to now place the onus on the customer to check compatibility of ballasts prior to ordering. Knowing they were in error and simply changing their product language is deceitful. This company now has cost me an additional $500 to replace old ballasts with new. However, tracking shows they were delivered to a "mail room", which I do not have, I live in a house. Picture on the tracking looks like just snow. Do not ever buy anything from 1000Bulbs. We spent over $200 for a kitchen ceiling light that was so poorly designed it could not be installed. The surface mount felt like tin foil and the brackets designed to hold the light fixture were so flimsy, small and impossible to work with. This company will NOT accept a return unless the item is in NEW and resaleable condition. So if the bolts and screws for the surface mount have been used to try to install you are just out of luck with the refund. Oh, by the way. Before last week I would have given them a 4-star or 5-star review, based on the greater than $5,600 order history of mine. But when it came time to return a product that did not match the product description on the web site, I learned their after-the-sale customer support is terrible. Yes, I did install a security light fixture with motion sensor. There was no other way to find out the product did not match the product description on the web site. What is the point of a light fixture with a motion sensor, if the light fixture remains on regardless of the presence of motion or the lack of motion? The light fixture with a motion sensor remains on, motion or not! If a light fixture with a motion sensor remains on regardless of motion or not, then the entire point of a motion sensor is defeated. So I returned the product, only to be told it was not returnable because insulation was stripped from the ends of the wires. And they kept the fixture to boot! Of course I had to strip insulation off the wires. The scant 1/8" of bare wire is nowhere near enough to make a quality connection with a wire nut. So I stripped insulation to make a proper connection. Little do they know my greater than $5,600 history of purchases is just the beginning of replacing fixtures and bulbs at my home. And I'm just getting started with replacing the fixtures and bulbs at my church. I'm on the maintenance committee and I have taken on the project of modernizing the fixtures on the entire property. I am also going to be spending the next several months replacing fixtures and bulbs at my mother in law's home that needs new lighting inside and out. And thanks to their lousy customer support I will be making all of my future purchases elsewhere. Way to lose a loyal customer and lose easily $20,000 in future purchases, by poking your fingers in my eye and telling me my purchase history and loyalty to you are are meaningless to you, and by telling me your lousy product descriptions on your web site also mean nothing. read more

Ordered 998 bulbs from this company. Received 24 boxes of which 2 of the boxes were empty. Missing 200 of the bulbs we ordered. We called the company to let them know that and they said they would have to do a count. Since we needed the bulbs the next day we ordered 200 additional bulbs for the ones that were never shipped at at cost of $3,775. They charged a hefty overnight charge (which they did end up refunded us) but would not refund us for the 200 bulbs that were missing. They said they did not have an overage of bulbs and that their inventory was spot on (which I've seen another reviewer say). Buyer Beware on this company. Not very reputable!
