1000 Faces is located in the Athens area nestled by UGA's campus. Parking: located in the back of the building. Coffee selection: tried the nitro coffee brew with a dash of vanilla and a dash of almond + oak milk very good. Ambiance: a lot of UGA college students come here to study and just catch up with each other. Great place to work and catch up with a dear friend. Callie, one of the 1000 Faces employee, was so kind and patient with me while I made my decision between the chai and nitro brew. I went with the nitro brew this time, but would like to try the chai since it's homemade (including milk from a local farm). Backstory: 1000 Faces Coffee was named after the book "The Hero with a thousand faces." The coffee shop owners wanted to compare the summary of the book where the author discusses his theory of the journey of the hero equating it to the journey of a coffee bean read more

High ceilings, lots of natural light, exposed brick, moody dark blue walls, and lots of plants make 1000 Faces a perfect environment for reading or studying. There isn't a ton of seating or parking. The coffee is good. Although they made me the wrong drink at first, the baristas were super nice and re-made it. read more

The coffee was pretty great but the place was over-crowded and absolutely too busy for comfort.

I make sure to stop for a cup of coffee every time I visit Athens. I simply get their batch brew, which is in constant rotation. They had a coffee called Koko Buni at one time. It was one of the best coffees I have ever had. I wish they would bring it back. read more

Great coffee shop! The service was standard but the drinks were great! Got a caramel latte and the evergreen matcha, and both were amazing! So glad I stopped by, I'll be there again! read more

Some of the best coffee in Athens! Super great atmosphere, staff is always so friendly. I love their lavender lattee and a great study spot or even to just chat with friends. However their seating can be limited if a crowded day. read more

The coffee was delicious. I also got a croissant that wasn't pictured and it was also great. The place has a lovely ambience and the service makes you feel welcomed. The only thing I would want them to improve is a bigger place and more locations because it is truly a lovely coffee shop! read more

1000 Faces Coffee - Vanilla latte - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Athens, Georgia

I just moved to Athens so this was my first time 1000 Faces and wow -- I had a delicious iced vanilla latte with oat milk. One of the best I've ever had. Simple, classic, tasty. Customer service was friendly, prices are reasonable, the inside was clean, cool (temp wise), and cute. read more

Disappointed. Pro Tip to the staff: if you are going to be in food service waiting on people, drop the pretentious attitude. We walked up to the counter where a young lady was making a pour-over 2 feet in front of us. Never greeted us or acknowledged us. When she stepped over to the register she simply looked at us, and never said a word. I said "hello, how are you?"...no reply. So I said "you don't talk much" and she nodded. (Remember me dear?)Perhaps a different job roating the beans would be best suited for this person. Beans don't care if you're rude. Pro tip 2 for the staff: if you're going to wear a mask, try not to mumble incoherent words. You need to be understood. When she did talk, she mumbled something about "mhmnnmhilk? After a few attempts, I recognized she was asking if we wanted whole or oat milk. Coffee was good. The matcha my wife had was very good. read more

Being from Seattle, we like to check out local coffeeshop when we're traveling. This did not disappoint, we even purchased a mug.

1000 Faces Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Athens, Georgia

On my first morning in Athens, my friend and I went to 1000 Faces to get a quick caffeine fix and ward off the muggy summer heat. I ordered a cold brew with oat milk and vanilla, and she got an iced oat milk chai. Both were EXCELLENT. My drink was the perfect ratio of bold to sweet, and her chai had a hint of cardamom that made it stand out. The prices were reasonable as well. Our only complaint is that the drinks came in 12 oz sizes (for now)- we could've easily downed double :) read more

A lot of bean varieties available with interesting flavors. The staff wasn't very attentive and I would actually lean towards calling the person who took our order a little rude. But the coffee was decent read more

I really enjoyed the coffee from here. 1000 Face roast their coffee lightly on most of their beans. I enjoyed their multi varieties Berry (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry), Citrusy (lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit) aftertaste on most of their coffee. It's definitely the best compared to many third waves I have tried in many large cities. read more

I had been wanting to visit 1000 Faces for quite some time. I've heard such great things about the people and the coffee. There are a couple of shops in metro Atlanta that carry their coffee but I wanted to go to the source. I went on a Friday around ten in the morning and there were a handful of customers and a couple of employees. There is one communal table, so there is not a lot of seating, maybe, eight seats. They don't have wi-if but an employee told me they have plans to move and the new space will. I ordered a pour-over ($4.00) and thoroughly enjoyed it. They had a few pastries but I resisted. They staff was very nice and answered my questions about the coffee and went out of their way to accommodate me. They also had a nice size merchandise area where they had everything a coffee enthusiast could want. Coffee, grinders and different types of brew methods. read more

I'm not sure what they put in the coffee, but I am always SO productive when I get to study there. Super cool aesthetically and best coffee in Athens, in my opinion. Staff is friendly and one of my favorite things is they sell Independent Baking Company's baked goods if you get there early enough! This is my favorite place to meet people downtown during the week or on a weekend. read more

Not too many great coffee options in North Gwinnett County... but I have been overjoyed since finding 1000 faces. Coffee is on point... none of that horrible tasting syrups. Service is inviting. And ambiance is great for work or a quick get away. read more

This review is for the decaf blend and the decaf blend only. If you don't care about decaf, keep scrolling lol. I have officially become old when I accepted that I cannot drink caffeinated beverages past about 12pm - that's when I start drinking decaf coffee. Decaf roasts are usually like the forgotten child of the coffee industry. No matter how good a coffee company's regular beans are, the decaf ones always taste old and usually bitter and just meh. HOWEVERRRRRRRR the Decaf Monk from 1000 Faces is a GAME CHANGER. It's full and intentional and so delicious. I am spoiled - luckily 1000 Faces has a residency at my farmer's market on Sundays :) read more

Really nice spot to drop in for coffee. I loved seeing the roasting process going on and the interior is lovely. We ordered an iced mocha, Americano and a few bags of beans. The drinks were really tasty. They were running a discount on their whole beans and were nice enough to give us an even bigger discount after ringing us up incorrectly. What a deal for really good coffee! We've brewed a few pots at home and the quality is solid. read more

Very nice coffee shop in downtown Athens. They roast their own coffee and have nice craft drinks. They use local and seasonal ingredients. I'm not usually the one to make reviews for I work in the service industry but I have never in my life had such a bad coffee. Came here for the first time to try out some local Athens coffee. I got the cold brew with vanilla and oat milk. I really enjoyed the coffee! I also got the apple cinnamon scone and blueberry muffin. Both of these pastries were incredibly dry and even though they were warmed up, they were not warm. I probably would go back here for the coffee but not for the food! 1000 Faces is fantastic. This was my first time to visit their new location, conveniently in downtown Athens. I really love what they've done with the place, and I hope that they continue to grow. I'm a huge fan of their coffee. They definitely are big hitters in the Athens market, and they offer some uniqueness that others don't really have. It's really hard to go wrong on the menu, but I'd go for a pour over (usually) just to try their different roasts. read more

New location near downtown is a homerun. Open, uncluttered and airy with lots of natural light and the latte was excellent. Barista was cordial and paid attention to my order. Plenty of table space. We wish them lots of success. One request is PLEASE offer a sugar-free vanilla syrup. Sugar alternatives have been proven safe in every conceivable fashion by the huge preponderance of solid scientific nutritional study. Doesn't have to be for everybody but those of us who are trying to avoid sugar sure would appreciate still being able to have the flavor :-)! read more

Came to Atlanta as part of a farmers market. Coffee is phenomenal. Isn't that what we want from a coffee place? Help is nagging me to say more, but I think that is all you really need to know. read more

1000 Faces Coffee is literally a hipster oasis on the edge of Athens. Nested next to the train tracks, 1000 Faces appears to be a discreet industrial factory with a few spots for parking. Inside is small but cozy, a table sits in the center of the common area that could maybe sit 10 people at max. Along the sides of the interior are various coffee products and paraphernalia, way too complex for my understanding. From what I could tell, 1000 Faces is a coffee store that sells artisanal coffee beans, a cafe, and a cult gathering of baristas. They obviously seem to know what they were doing, when my friend and I walked in they were smelling and slurping different kinds of coffee around a table. 1000 Faces has a pretty simple menu, with teas and the basic coffee options. I got a cappuccino, which was placed at around $4. They basically make it right in front of you, drip coffee style and with the pretty milk flower design on top. Well my friend got the flower, I got a simple squiggle, depressing indeed. The cappuccino tasted like cappuccino, but I'm pretty sure it's really good cappuccino, I'll just believe that it is. I'm no coffee expert, or enthusiast. The place is pretty small to chill and do your work at, and I'm pretty sure the space wasn't intended to serve as such. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, definitely will recommend this to my coffee snob friends. read more

Suggestions: While really any of their coffee is OUTSTANDING, their specialty "must try" drink is their Cold Brew Nitro Pros: They are roasting their beans like 10' away from the counter resulting in an unbelievably fresh bean, super awesome coffee culture, the staff is all so friendly, they treat the roasting, brewing, and serving of their coffee like an art not just a job Cons: There are literally 9 seats in the building Thoughts: Yet another coffee shop and another review. 1000 faces is like sitting in a roasting plant and drinking coffee. The walls have coffee accessories all over them, and you can see their roaster just past the counter where they serve coffee. If you are a fan of the coffee process this is an amazing place to sit, watch, and drink coffee. That sitting part could definitely get hard though as there are only 9 seats around one large wooden table. After looking over the menu for a bit we decided to try a few different coffee options, including a cappuccino, latte, and cold brew nitro. The exceptional one was the cold brew nitro, though everything we had was genuinely fantastic. Despite the small space, the shop there were only a few other people at there the time. This is probably because it was a workday and we were on vacation, but it did give us the time to sit and enjoy a few cups of coffee. It was also fantastic to talk to the staff here as they were very friendly, very knowledgeable, and seemed to really enjoy talking about coffee and sharing their knowledge with you. I would highly recommend visiting 1000 Faces Coffee if you are in the area. However it is important to note that this is not really a coffee shop, it is more like a roaster that serves coffee. An incredibly awesome roaster that serves amazing coffee, that you should absolutely visit. Can't wait to be back. read more
