Love this place. I come here often. Kind baristas and amazing coffee. Sometimes I get the bags of coffee and they grind it for you on the spot which is perfect for me because I have a French press and need a coarse grind. During the fall this season I had a lot of fun trying out all the fall flavors. I typically get to go but I have studied here a couple times and it's nice and quiet with nice natural lighting. Small and cozy too with lowkey decor which I enjoy. I've been to other jittery joes I'm lucky this one is closest to me because it is by far my favorite location. read more

I had the pleasure of trying a Spiced Chai Frosty Joe and let ne say, it was incredible!! And this place is really awesome if you need a place to relax and bring a computer. I never ever make these reviews because I have worked in service jobs and I understand what the worker can go through with customers. However, whoever the guy is who works the afternoon shift consistently, simply needs to be fired. He always treats the customer like they are bothering him by being there and he is too bothered to just do his job. He always slams things?? I really don't know what his problem is but I would be surprised if this is the first complaint about him. I am happy to pay their over high prices to drink local, but the manager who makes the drinks spends too much time yakking instead of making coffee. ever heard of at least multi-tasking? My first time trying this place and the staff were very nice. The hazelnut latte was better than Starbucks. Unfortunately the Asiago bagel was pretty hard and crisped, and you spread on your own little container of cream cheese. I did enjoy reading the back of the different coffee cans. read more

I really like the coffee and the easy access to Publix when I was a student here. It's one of the better chain coffeeshop in Georgia. Starbucks and caribou are weak and taste like water. read more

Nice enough coffee with friendly helpful staff. I usually have a Cappuccino or an Iced coffee with an extra shot of espresso. There can be a lot of inconsistency with the hot drinks. Often the drink is so hot the coffee tastes burnt. I usually have to expressly asked for "not too hot" to get it right. The pumpkin bread is delicious and I cannot recommend it enough. Good place for working as well ..... just make sure to buy something ...... nothing worse than seeing people using the internet access and waking in with McDonalds. Tues nite 9pm 3/26 terrible experience trying to get coffee to go. When employee has disappeared into back room, for whatever reason they really need to keep an eye on the counter. Check to see if anyone is waiting. This was my experience. I stood there for minutes. I could see her cleaning. I'm within feet of her. I call to her loudly. Nothing. I bang my keys on counter. Nothing. I pick up the tip jar and drop it back down. Nothing. I bang my keys again, becoming more frustrated. Again nothing. I eventually had to tell out " hey can I get some service here?" It was loud enough for everyone to hear. Honestly, I don't think I was too much of a jerk. The coffee shop is, first and foremost, there to sell coffee. It should not be this difficult. I love the original 5 points location. Now that they have been on the east side for some time it has become a great place that isn't going away any time soon. They sell great beans as well as really amazing drinks. There are some snack options and other odds n ends. The drinks are great and the service is unbeatable. Locals in Athens know why this place is their go-to for anything coffee. A couple outdoor tables and right next to the grocery store and fro-yo. read more

Coffee and snack are good. No question. But this place is flat out filthy. Tables chairs and floor (!!!) are sticky, grimy, and in desperate need of deep intensive cleaning. The build-up of crud in the windows has dust on it. Been collecting in place a good long while. I refuse to look behind the counter. I am afraid to. I like this location, but I would suggest you get there early or around 4 or 5 if you want to stay and do work. It fills up and has limited seating (although most people sitting at a 2-chair table kindly let you sit.) Their coffee is essentially the same as other locations. I really like their drip coffee, and they also have good teas. They also have good muffins and there's usually some that are discounted bc older. I got a chai latte and a blueberry scone here. The chai latte was way overpriced (it said $5.50 on the board), and it simply didn't taste good. The blueberry scone wasn't really an authentic scone, but it tasted pretty good (probably thanks to lots of sugar). I have insomnia and often need some sort of coffee or energy drink to get through the day, and these guys have good coffee. It looks so cozy inside the shop and I literally don't care if the baristas are not always smiling and fake happy. I mean, I'm not when I go in. Why would I expect them to be? Would you be happy go lucky at 8am when it's 40 degrees out but you still gotta work so people like you can get their coffee? People complaining about that need to chill out. I like this place, its got the feel of a big chain place but it's definitely an Athens original. I really like the location it's sometimes a little over crowded but if thins out pretty quick. The parking is kind of a pain in the butt if it's a Tuesday night and Papa Johns is packed but you can always park across the street in the Publix parking lot. read more

Each Joe's location is an experience in itself. And what I love about each location is that the coffees taste exactly the same. This location is nestled perfectly on Barnett Shoals. Inside you will see a uniquely decorated coffee shop, with the Jittery Joe's color scheme and cycling items. There is a ton of seating and places to study or read. The place is well lit and the staff is excellent. The location makes it easy to be in and out in a flash with no worry of traffic or long lines. read more
