One of the most underrated coffee spots in Athens. Great vibe! Live music in the evenings. Quite enough to be a good workspace during the day.

Quirky ambiance

This place seems very representative of Athens in general... friendly staff, slightly run down building, adequate furnishings, great place to see a wide variety of musical performances, quirky art and strong sense of community. Occasional events (ie monthly salsa dancing) can be packed while mornings are mellow, and everything in between. Their breakfast burritos are tasty and the "MacHenderGriddle" croissant sandwich is delicious and filling. The coffee is always good. At night there isn't much food left except pre-packaged cheese plates (better than average) and occasionally a cookie. The bar serves standard stuff and a few unique cocktails. I recommend the Foxy Lady mocktail with spicy ginger ale!

Great vibe. You're seriously going to want to hang out after ordering your coffee. I love the Community Art Project near the entrance. BRILLIANT! I stayed close and couldn't stomach the hotel coffee and this place was recommended. Loved it and plenty of folks chatting at tables as well as students working on laptops. No one minds the noise and would love to come back when they have live music.

Angry pirate

Always my favorite coffee shop turned bar after hours to visit when I'm in Athens. This particular weekend, after a disappoint Georgia loss to South Carolina, I wanted to check out this place that was far from the chaos of downtown Athens. It's definitely more of an Athens towny restaurant that's great to have group meetups, see live music, comedy shows, etc. This particular day when I went, there was a Jazz show. I didn't want to attend the show, but they allowed people to sit outside and you could still basically hear the Jazz from the courtyard seating. It was very pleasant! For my drinks I ordered a Guinness stout which was poured a little wrong, so I had to wait for it to settle for about 5 minutes before I could drink it. I also ordered the Angry pirate which was a chai latte with rum, but the drink was a little too strong for my liking and tasted like it only had a hint of chai in it. Overall solid experience, but I would maybe recommend their coffee drinks over their cocktails!

Great atmosphere and very relaxed. Went on a Saturday morning and the outside sitting area was super cute. Coffee is a little expensive but there are a range of drinks and prices to choose from.

One of the greatest chai lattes I have had in a long time. I will be returning to them when ever I am visiting Athens.

Great place to take your honey for music and drinks. Unflappable bartender. Get there 20 min before the show starts.

I hear you can park at the church for free, but the parking lot designated for the bottleworks is slightly expensive...

There might be a little bias options here since this joint is owned by his really good friend's granddaughter. But the fact it's local, I'm going to support it. Walking up, the espresso machine and register was set up outside. There's some remodeling going on so I didn't get the opportunity to see what the venue looks like inside. But outside is quite cute. I love the flowers surrounding the outside patio. A handful of sweet baristas were working. They all greeted us! I checked out the summer menu to see what kind of cool drinks they had. I got a vanilla oat milk matcha latte. My husband got a summer drink of the menu. It was a sparkling strawberry lemonade. My husband's lemonade was so good! I appreciate that real strawberry puree was used. It was sweet, tangy and bubbly! It was quite refreshing for a sweet drink. My matcha was balanced! There was a good amount of matcha to oat milk. I didn't quite taste the vanilla as much as I would have liked to. I did add some sugar to it when we stopped at the Waffle House. It tasted much better once the sugar was added. I'm already going to plan on coming back when we visit Athens again next year. I look forward to seeing the new remodel. And I look forward to potentially meeting the famous Molly that my father in law speaks ok. I enjoyed my matcha and it's great that I got to support a local joint while I was here.

Condor Chocolates - Five Points (Athens)…read more GO DAWGS!!! This place started with a spark of love many years ago. Now, it's still growing with love by two brothers born and raised in Bulldog Nation, honoring their parents. Five Points location opened in 2014. I've been here few times and I can tell you with 100% certainty that their quality is always better with each visit. The friendly and helpful staff are top notch. They are always knowledgeable and ready to assist you in rich and chocolaty varieties. ROASTERY: The space is small and cozy. When you enter, you're welcomed by sweet aroma. You can come in, enjoy the atmosphere, sip on your specialty drink and watch the process of chocolate making. And of course, while you watch confections masterpiece, why don't you indulge on their rich and delicious chocolates. CONFECTIONS: 48%-72% You've never had such rich, smooth and delicious treats in your life before! It may be a bold statement to make, but I encourage you to visit them and try it for yourself. Besides many confections offered here, you can also try their great variety of coffee drinks. Many of their products ingredients are sourced from Ecuador. CHOCO COFFEE: Their blend of "Choco Coffee," isn't named after chocolate coffee. Instead, it's named after Ecuadorian, Choco Toucan bird. I bought, "Comunidad Blend," to brew at home. I've already brewed couple of cups and OMG!!! It offers notes of Dark Chocolate, Pecans, Pink Grapefruit and Guava. As I've been sipping on it, its whole beans are washed, well balanced, offer rich and bold flavors. You can taste the home roots. PARKING: It can be tricky to get in here. It's located off busy, S. Lumpkin Street. Parking is very limited as it shares it with five other businesses. There is additional parking nearby. RECOMMEND: Overall, this place is very unique. It offers something for everyone. They cater to kids and kids at heart... with a sweet tooth. Stop by or visit them online and see what all they have to offer. I highly recommend them and looking forward to continuing being their customer.
