Visited the shop yesterday. I just love the outdoor look and feel. Feels like a quaint little shop but the brightness of the red gives it a whimsical feel. The shop was adorable with the gorgeous chocolates displayed visibly through the glass display case. I ended up just buying a vanilla bean latte and it was smooth and hot. While getting a tour of the local area, I heard Condor chocolates was the place to go to get sweets. I'm always down for something sweet so of course we had to come check it out. Walking up to the place, I love the bright red tables outside. It adds such a fun vibrancy to the place. The windows are also decorated with beautiful strands of color. It creates such a fun vibe. I noticed the beautifully crafted truffles displayed in the glass case. They all looked so good! I asked the sweet gal for a variety of 8 pieces. I also got a salted caramel brownie as well. My truffles got boxed up with a cute white bow. My brownie was getting warmed up while the gal was helping another guest. I checked out the other items for sale while I was waiting for my brownie. I love all the Georgia Bulldog themed chocolates. There was also a different variety of chocolate bars available. I noticed they also sold espresso and coffee drinks at the shop. I wish I would have known about the coffee! I would have rather grabbed coffee from this joint and not from Starbucks. It will be something I'll have to try next time. My brownie was so good! The love the flakes of salt on the brownie. The sweet and salty combo is always a winner. It was heated up just right! There were caramel ribbons were in every bite. It's very decadent! This was our first time in Athens, GA and we wanted to bring home some local treats to our coworkers and stumbled across this darling business on our walk about town. I would have loved to sit down and sample some of their desserts or coffees but we had just eaten a filling meal and there was no way we could eat another bite. The look from the outside drew me in and the atmosphere and displays kept me browsing. With our youngest attending graduate school at UGA, we had to get some Bulldog Bark and a UGA Milk Chocolate bar for ourselves. We brought home an assortment of truffles that were so artfully designed. Although our order total came to $60, it was well worth it. The quality of ingredients and the presentation was well worth the price. It will be on our list to visit again when we come back into town. read more

I found this lovely coffee shop/bakery by accident. I was looking for a bookstore and knew once I passed it, I had to stop!! I ordered the Latte & a Brownie combo!! It did not disappoint. I got the special which was the Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Iced Latte (I think that's what it was called.) While it was good, I did not taste any strawberry. But that brownie, with the sea salt on top, was heaven sent! It was a tender, over the top chocolate, super moist delicious treat!! The cashier was friendly and service excellent! My only gripe is that I didn't buy 2!! One was not enough!! While I didn't sit inside it was vey quaint and conducive to sitting both inside and outside! A hidden gem in Athens! It's a cute spot for catching up with a friend and getting coffee/chocolate/dessert. It's located right on Five Points, so parking can get a little tricky - there's street parking if you're lucky to find a spot, but otherwise you can try parking at the Earth Fare across the street. If you park anywhere else you might get booted/towed. They usually have 1-2 tables indoors but now it's all outdoor seating during COVID. Their menu is pretty simple with minimal options. I find the prices to be pretty expensive. First time I went I ordered the chocolate sandwich with gelato rolled in cocoa nibs. which I enjoyed. The nibs basically tasted like nuts, which added a good texture and slightly bitter flavor alongside the sweetness of the cookies and the gelato. The second time I went I ordered the brownie with gelato. The brownie was kind of hard and difficult to scoop through with my plastic spoon, but tasted good nonetheless. read more

The cutest chocolate shop in Athens. We dropped in to pick up some treats after a matcha run and we're pleasantly surprised :) I picked up a box of chocolate truffles for my mom and she loved them. Great ambiance for a chill coffee spot. Everything is done in house and the aroma when you walk in the store is spectacular. Everything was homemade; from gelato and fresh espresso for Affogato, to chocolate boxes that are handcrafted and rich. The raspberry and the bourbon truffles are both vegan, and many of their chocolate bars are vegan as well. The service is routinely excellent. They know their chocolate! The decor is cute and fresh. There is some parking outside, although it fills up quickly. There are not many chairs or tables, so it kind of seems like a "buy and go" not a "sit and savor" sort of place. As we were walking to dinner this place caught our eye and we couldn't resist stopping in. We didn't get to explore it much because we snuck in just as it was closing time, but they were gracious enough to let us make a quick purchase and everything tasted wonderful. Super cute place!! The truffles were $2.50 each but they had a special going where you could get a latte and a truffle for $5, so that's what I did. The latte had almond milk instead of whole milk and I added peppermint syrup which was really yummy! The Satsuma Truffle had orange caramel in the middle - the mix of flavors was super good and the flavor changed with each bite which was cool. Great chocolate and coffee cafe. I've been here 2-3 times. The brownie with gelato was delicious. They warm the brownie and add flakey sea salt and I picked coconut gelato with my brownie. I was overcome with a craving for chocolate today. Fortunately, I had heard Condor Chocolates had opened in Five Points. Currently they have maybe 6 types of a truffles available, a full espresso bar, hot chocolate, and sipping chocolate. If you're not in the mood for chocolate or coffee, they also have a variety of delicious spindrift sodas. They had two specials available, as well: chocolate mousse with olive oil, hazelnuts, & dried cherries and a caramel sea salt brownie. We started off with the Mayan and Dark chocolate truffles. They were both scrumptious, but I especially liked the Mayan. It had a bit of a spice to it. We also had the brownie, which they warmed up for us. The outside was a bit crispy and the rest of it was perfectly salty, sweet, and chocolatey. But what really got me hooked was the sipping chocolate. I had a sip and I was taken into another realm where everything was made of chocolate and I'm eternally happy -- I think that's what heaven must be like. I felt happy and sad at the same time -- how could i have been missing out on this my whole life?? I'm hooked. I will be back regularly for my sipping chocolate fix. The interior of condor chocolates is really hip and pretty neat. I believe they are going for a Mayan theme but I may be wrong. All of the truffles (2$ each) here are delicious!!!! They are not too sweet and are pretty flavorful, and that's saying a lot coming from a person who is not a huge fan of chocolate! I've tried many of the flavors, but I particularly like lavender honey, raspberry, and lemon rosemary! I would really like to try the earl grey one hopefully next time I visit. They also have the "messed up" truffles that are cheaper with several in a plastic wrapping, but the flavors are mixed so you don't really get to choose which flavors you want. They also sell other goodies which include chocolate bars, chocolate covered marshmallows, hot chocolate, coffee, brownies, macarons, and milkshakes. They usually only have 2 macarons on the menu and it's random so I never know which 2 macarons are in the store on the day I decide to go. The fruity pebbles is awesome! Same with earl grey and pistachio! I'm not a huge fan of Mayan because of its cinnamony taste, but some people love it! The brownie is pretty awesome too. It's kind of sweet though, so beware. Maybe order an americano on the side to balance it out? The Mocha milkshake is a must for any first timers!!!! You get to choose your toppings. I've also tried chocolate milkshake but mocha is hands down where the party's at!!!!! Minus one star because it smelled like toilet in here last time I visited with my sister. I'm not so sure why..... but I was a bit disappointed when I had raved about the place and oddly enough it smelled like weird toilet water on the day I decided to show her the place. I would say it's a good place to study, though, when it doesn't smell like toilet inside! It usually smells like chocolate and they have a long table seating area attached to the open kitchen area with plugs to charge your electronics. I came on a Saturday morning for a cappuccino and was talked into their homemade Nutella toast (made with Independent Bakery bread)- as expected for a chocolatier, it was pretty out-of-this-world! The cappuccino was also perfectly done, even with using coconut milk instead of whole. At the time, they were serving local 1000 Faces coffee, though the owner noted they would be bringing in other regional coffee beans. I would absolutely recommend Condor for a special treat or as a place to meet friends for coffee! I didn't try the brownie, though it looks impressive, but I did have a $2 truffle. Which was TOTALLY worth $2. It was really amazing. (And, really, how many truffles should you eat in one go? This is not the place to go if you're hungry. Go get a meal! Then come here for dessert afterwards.) The cappuccino was better than average, but I don't know that I'd come here just to drink it. Best chocolate "anything" I've ever had. My wife took me here for a little Anniversary dessert and I absolutely loved it! We had the brownie, sipping chocolate, mocha , and an earl grey tea macaroon. It was all fantastic! Freshly made, savory, bitter, and not overly sweet. Simply a different and artistic experience with chocolate. You just have to try this place. The brownie had chocolate merengue crumbs, caramel, a slight buttery taste. The sipping chocolate was thick and had housemade marshmallows. We each got a ice cream (vanilla and chocolate) and a truffle (mocha and honey lavender). I didn't have high expectations for the ice cream, but both flavors were great. And of course the chocolate truffles were delicious! There were many truffle choices, and the cashier was more than happy to help decide which to get. It looked like they had a lot of other chocolate treats as well, and I hope to try a chocolate cake slice sometime in the future. The interior was cute with a few indoor seating areas (counter and tables) with an open view of the chocolate-making process (outdoor seating also available from what I recall). We stayed at Condor for hours, and we never felt pressured to leave (note: it was a weekday, so not a lot of people were coming in looking for seats). During our visit in Athens, my boyfriend and I stopped here for dessert. We both got the dark chocolate brownie, which was so fudgey and dense (highly recommend). My boyfriend also got the cloud boulder and I got a mix of vanilla and chocolate gelato with biscotti crumbles as a topping. When I asked the employee how big a cup of the gelato was, he said it was about the size of a golf ball, which threw me off, since most gelato shops in America tend to give a more generous serving. However, this gelato was so rich, the golf ball serving size was more than enough (also highly recommend). The space is nice and I wouldn't mind hanging out, meeting a friend, or grabbing a dessert here, but A) the prices are steep and B) the food simply isn't all that great. The gelato is good, but again, not great. The few chocolates we tried were also underwhelming. I also feel compelled to note it took a ridiculously long time to get a gelato. The order was quickly placed, but the product was so frozen solid, we were told by an employee, that he had to chisel some out for us. 8 minutes later my three year old was screaming for ice cream because the gelato was taking forever.
